Ok, I'm going to say now: I'm a little biased as this was my first ever anime, recommended to me by a friend.
ALSO IT IS SHOUNEN! DO NOT EXPECT SOMETHING WITH AN AMAZING STORYLINE. EXPECT SOMETHIMG TO WATCH EASILY, NOT REALLY PAYING MUCH ATTENTION TO DETAIL.
Story:
This does get old after a while, and you can tell what is going to happen next. Most problems will be solved by friendship and/or some new spell or ability that the solver has just realised they have gained/can use. There are lots of different arcs in Fairy Tail, each quite short, with quite a lot of fillers. The
...
fillers ain't great, but t help you connect with the character's funnier sides.
Art:
Standard anime art really, not much to say about it.
Sound: (theme music is by Yasuharu Takenashi, if you'd like to look him up)
Oh My GOD!
THE MUSIC IS INCREDIBLE SERIOUSLY I have the ENTIRE soundtrack downloaded onto my phone, it's just so beautiful. The openings and endings really go with the friendship, adventure and magic theme of the anime, you can't really say anything bad about the music. Also just to point out most of the theme tunes sound very Irish, very.
Character:
Funny and relatable characters, all with different personalities that come together to form the teams in the Fairy Tail Guild. For example: the main characters- one is reckless and stupid, while having a more caring side when his friends are in danger, another is sweet and kind but also strong, another is strong is determined and yet another is serious and decisive. I love them all and the characters are what really makes up this anime. People may be put off by the fact that the protagonist is a reckless, hungry, handsome, fire-breathing 18 year old but just because is isn't your usual sweet, caring, beautiful anime boy-
who am I kidding Natsu makes up the entire show everyone loves him!
Enjoyment:
Fairy Tail has always put a smile on my face, and even though people are saying it isn't great, which I CAN agree with, it makes me happy to see the teams and the magic whenever I watch it. I think it's changed me for the better and the way the friends laugh with each other and support each other is inspiring. I feel like I'm part of their world! What I would give to be there in Fairy Tail.
(The type of friendship can be compared to the boys in Free! iwatobi swim club or Ouran Host Club)
Look, SHOUNEN is SHOUNEN OK?
People who are raving about how bad it is, fine. This is what I think. Sure, some people are being harsh, but some haven't considered that this anime is not really meant to be thought about, it's meant to be watched easily, hence the good music. But it appeals to younger viewers I think.
So, finally, let me say one for thing about this fun (even without an amazing storyline) anime:
Hiro Mashima's Fairy Tail is one anime I will never forget!
