(SPOILER WARNING)
Tengoku Daimakyo is an anime with stunning animation, but its story is quite difficult to understand.
When I watched the first episode, I immediately fell in love with the animation and the world it presented, but my enthusiasm started to wane when the backstory of Kiruko was revealed. It turned out that Kiruko was a man (the younger brother of Kiruko).
From that point on, my enjoyment of the anime began to decline, especially because of the ecchi and romance scenes, which I personally found very disturbing (since I’m not a fan of ecchi).
The story is told from two perspectives or maybe two storylines? I’m not
...
entirely sure, so I’ll use the term two perspectives. The first perspective follows those searching for "heaven" (Kiruko and Maru), while the second focuses on the people already living in "heaven." As for the perspective of those in "heaven," I couldn’t understand it at all; from the beginning to the end of the episodes, the story just kept getting more confusing.
At the end of the series, Kiruko is "assaulted" (I forgot the perpetrator's name, sorry), which made me hate this anime even more especially because Kiruko had already explained that the soul inside Kiruko's body was male (her younger brother), yet that despicable person still went through with it.
I apologize if the review is confusing, as this is my first review.
