This anime has the entire recipe to become famous these days:
-perverted jokes
-good opening
-good animation
-mascot with meme faces
-someone old who looks young
What it doesn't have have is:
-good characters
-good setting
...
-good plot
-good romance story
It is the exact same as ChainsawMan, it will be popular, and probably the most popular anime of the season due to the community being too horny and the reaction potencial, but NOT by being good.
The opening is a banger, since it's done by the same band who did That Mashle opening ( a show that also sucks), and if the show doesn't attract attention with that, it will by the sexual jokes.
Overall the show makes no sense, the characters are terrible and their interaction make no sense, the attempt at romance is pathetic and the enemies give no danger because there will be some random bullshit reason to take care of them.
The anime fans will still eat it up and it will have a big score on MAL, as long as the recipe to be popular is filled, the show does not need to be good.

Another anime of the season, another dissapointment.
With how popular the anime is, I think everyone knows what it is about, it has 0 story, so what you do is follow the MC (Main Character) picking up fights until he gets to the top.
The problem with that is, you need to have an amazing MC to have an enjoyable show and Sakura is the opposite of that:
-he's always frustrated for no reason, behaves like an annoying kid, always screams during normal conversations, isn't gratefull for all the kindness he's given, and although he's strong in combat, he's weak in mentality.
When is comes to personality, every
...
character has none, all of them have that hive-mind 1 brain cell of wanting to fight everyone at any time. The only character who isn't like that is even more annoying, is always scared to contrast the rest of the cast, with screaming and over-reactions, just there to make exposition.
The setup is something that an 8 year old would come up with:
-there is no parents, no teachers, no classes, the abandoned school serves as a hangout but "students" are still divided into classes (?), and all of them just get food for free at the restaurants because the fight agaisnt other thieves students (?), the whole plot is plain stupid.
The few attempt as jokes and just the the idiot characters screaming at each other, and being loud does not equal funny.
When it comes to likeable characters, there's only the white-haired captain and thats pretty much it.
Overall, having a show like this is fine, but having it average a score of 8 baffles me, the only saving grace is the battle coreography and thats pretty much it.
Having a MC start strong and capable of winning any fight he's in does not make him a good, compeling or interesting character, having this edgy angst teen is a pain to watch, the show could actually be decent and I would give it a score of 6 or 7 if Sakura was completely deleted, and have the white-hair captain as the MC instead.
As someone who has battle-shonens as their favorite genre, this ain't it.

The calm before the storm.
The show takes a little break of the action to get to know the characters better, which in a storytelling point-of-view, helps a lot the story, by making the next arc that more impactfull, and even if it doesn't need it, also contradicts the dumb haters who say "it's just battles".
As it is known right now, the next arc will be a trilogy of very action-packed movies, and this season was the perfect build up for that. We know that Muzan is gathering his forces and that the Demon Slayer corps are only now getting wins agaisnt the upper moons and
...
still need more training, especially the lower ranks ones. It takes time to do the needed backstories that were missing, characterization, character interaction, character development, and also a bit of their day-to-day life.
Essentially this arc did everything that needed to do, it expanded some needed parts of the original manga, making it a perfect adaptation, the comedy was there, Tanjiro's personallity is a joy to watch, the animation was amazing when it needed to be, the last episode was a masterpiece and that last music was *chef's kiss*. For all that it deserves the score given, even if it wasn't battle focused, because the movies will be and I can't wait for them.

Just another bland isekai to add to the never-ending list, checked it because how popular and high regarded it got, but oh boy, there was nothing original or of value here.
It starts by having the edgy loner MC being a jerk on his first interaction, and how inrealistically the popular girl at school only has eyes for him for no reason. The show tells us how the struggle of ow the edge MC is being so strong but as a human, but being powerless agaisnt firearms, which the show contradicts itself by showing him being faster than bullets and able to follow a car by
...
being of foot (while as a human).
There's a thing about good storytelling that is "show don't tell" and then there's this show doing the "tell and show the opposite".
Isekai'd as typical fashion, MC is reincarnated as Kirito (another trash main character), the OP blackswordsman surronded by woman. Now with magic, he goes to school pretending to be the loner kid to have the popular girl into him again. This one by having more screen time gets even worse written, being a boring tsundere at best, and a contradiction and worst.
----
Every character and every plot-point is as bland as it gets:
-MC is a male fantasy, same design as every other isekai MC, is OP, edgy and faces no threat in every fight, jerk and unlikable.
-popular girls only serve to be kidnapped and a damsel on distress.
-the 7 girls part of the MC's group have as much personallity as their names (you can easely find them in the character list), only exist to be attracted to the MC.
-every male character, either the friends of the MC which are losers kids at school, or the worthless villains who get stomped by the MC in combat, either way, both only exist to make the MC look cool.
The show even fails at every genre that it is:
Action - animation is only serviceable at best, fight scenes are pointless by having the MC being so OP.
Comedy - there wasn't a single joke, unless you count fanservice as comedy
Fantasy - it's the blandlest of isekai worlds
---
The show as a 8.30 score and a 2nd season with 8.40, however there was not a single positive point about it, this got as popular as it is by the fantasy of popular girls being into the loner kid, having ecchi, and a OP edgy MC in a harem state.
Having a MC be "cool", win every fight, and be surrounded by girls for no reason does not make it a good written character, but it does make the show gain undeserved success.

When people talk about the anime JJK, the first thing they say is about the awesome animation, and that's the case especially in season 2, by overworking the animators with tight schedules, JJK season 2 got the adaptation treatment that every manga whishes to get.
As everyone knows, this season is divided in 2 arcs, one about Gojo's past and another more battle-focused on the present.
Starting with the 1st one, the problem with flashback arcs is knowing who dies and who survives by being alive in the present, making the stakes dissapear for some of the characters.
The Shibuya arc feels different from the other arcs so
...
far, it is more focused on battles and on 1 mission, and not in the everyday life and character interactions, which I personally prefer since the characters aren't the best and in season 1 the story went aimlessly and all over the place, but for watchers who aren't into the battle shonen style I get that this season isn't for them. Also the main character, Yuji Itadori, is way better in this season instead of his dumb self from season 1.
However, deaths were predictable and forced, by having character acting dumb.
The things that are common in both arcs is
-for the positives: the amazing soundtrack (which some OSTs are re-used from season 1) and the animation, both during the coreography on fast-paced battles, and in the little details they add that give the characters more personality, and you can see their emotions and the stress the animators went through.
-for the negatives: poorly written characters, inconsistent power levels in terms of abilities, strenght and speed (powers not working as they should, characters not dodging attacks and not using the speed they showed to have, ect); plot-armor by having enemies - holding back, avoiding vitals, not finishing the job.
Overall, unlike people who simp for Gojo, Nanami, Getou or Touji; I don't call this peak or perfect, and can see it's flaws, however as someone who likes battle shonens and edgier stories, It's not as bad as people who aren't into that call it to be. The adaptation definetly carries the source material and it is overhyped, but it's still one of the better anime from the season.

I knew about this manga long before it became an anime, and wasn't expecting much from it because of one of the main images used to promote it: https://i0.wp.com/sequentialplanet.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/01/download.png?resize=749%2C556&ssl=1 (main character groping the main girl under her clothes). Still kept my mind open since we can't judge a manga too hard based on just one image with no context.
The anime came out and I barely recognized it because they're using a diferent art (as you can see on MAL), and since it's doing so well in popularity I gave it a shot.
As you can see from my score, that image is as bad as
...
it is, the non-consentual groping does indeed happen in the anime and worse, the main character fully naked takes advantage of a suicidal girl who can't fight back, constantly touching her and following her, he straight up kidnappes her even though she's always saying him to stay away. If it was an attempt to be comedy, it turned out as only disrepectfull and insultive, and you know what's even more stupid? The girl ends up liking him and kissing him for no reason at all barely after they met.
Even as a shonen it fails miserably, as you can guess from the title, every fight has no stakes and none of them are interesting, just heavy plot armor because the "plot" or lack of there of, is about making the main charcter look cool.
The creator tries to make the main character look cool by his carefree attitude and being invincible, but he only turns out to be creepy, a pervert, and abusive. The main girl isn't much better, her personality is just being a tsundere and is there only for sexual jokes.
Overall this anime fails at everything, as being a battle shonen by having an OP unlikable Main Character, as a comedy since every joke is about being sexual and taking advantage of the dumb tsundere main girl, as a story since there is none and damn if they try to make this a romance.
It has nothing of value, just an uninspiring and inconsiderate anime that I have no ideia how it got the popularity that is has, the fantasy of being forcefull towards random vunerable strangers is that strong.

I think this was one of the most popular manhwa/manga before becoming an anime, but being popular doesn't always equal good.
From the title and art alone I wasn't impressed, seems like another story using the rule of cool by showing off their edgy MC (main character) being much more OP than everyone else by grinding and having all the girls fall for him later by sacrificing good writting and trying to make the bland-looking MC like a self-insert, maybe that's also fault of other animes with the same flaws leaving that bad experience (looking at you Sword Art Online), so let's see how this holds
...
up.
Starting off it takes the over-saturated concept of the "isekai world" but putting them on the real world, which adds nothing to the story since they're acessed by portals and despite being in the modern current real world and having the materials to create weapons that damage the monsters, they decide to only make swords and easely-breakable knives (how brilliant), and the monsters? your run of the mill goblins, giant bugs, wolves, ect (how original). Even though in the worldbuilding they say only hunters with superpowers can defeat the monsters, anyone with a weapon can do it too as long as they can afford it which already contradicts what's previously said, the the "superpowers" is stuff like shooting fire from your hands or running fast (how original x2).
Now about the MC, which is always a problem with this type of shows, they making the zero-to-hero approach but in a very bad way, they make the MC start as the weakest so he can WOW everyone else by taking a shortcut and being this rule of cool arrogant edgy protagonist later, as the weak version the creator tries to make him look smart where on reality everyone else is just dumb fodder, he survives by sheer plot-armor and like SAO where you have a much bigger ratio of guys compared to girls, he (the MC) has to have a girl (with the personality of "hey I'm a healer) lovestruck by him for no given reason other than him being the MC. He's given this leveling system unique to him because he's the chosen one or wtv to become stronger (how to fail to make a good protagonist 101).
The main plot is non-existent, the story is boring and predictable (except how terrible it was written in the transition from episode 2 to episode 3, I wouldn't guess it would go that bad), characters are one-dimensional and dumb, the world makes no sense and the criativity is as bland as it gets, honestly there wasn't anything of value here and I fail to see how it got this popular while being so dull, 3 episodes is more of enough to ride off this train before it derails.

Had high hopes for this anime, the concept on showing the dark side of being an idol and social media with the contrast of the bright colors you can see in the art is very interesting. The opening music video ( https://myanimelist.net/anime/55016/Idol ) is a 10/10 which helped with the hype for the show, and the 1st episode which is a double special can stand on it's own as a 10/10 as well, so I think the anime got such a good rating early on because of that. So what happens from here?
Starting from the MC (main character), is such a breath of fresh air
...
having a MC who's actually smart, and despite having all the situations to be a pervert, he chose not to, unlike other shitty MCs whose that's their only defining trait (looking at you chainsaw man).
So all seems to be going fine until it's introduced this romantic sub-plot which inevitably leads to bad writting and poorly written characters (which hurts by having one of them being a main), and the main plot got massively side-tracked. For some reason they also took the almost-perfect written MC and made every girl fall in love with him just because he's hot I guess?
Still interested on watching the 2nd season because the main plot is genuinely good, but because of the flaws after the strong start, I can't give the anime a 10 like everyone else.

I dunno how this anime got so popular on release.
So basically you have a OnePunchMan protagonist but with a brain size of a pea in a Harry Potter setting (you have your typical characters of Ron, Dumbledore, Draco and Lucius Malfoy, ect... your broom flying lesson, the house selection hat, quiddich, Hogwarts and everything else that's not original).
This kind of concept already failed with Black Clover, having a protagonist being OP besides having "no magic", but somehow it fails even harder here, despite having to pass tests that require magic, the MC just breaks the laws of physics (which contradicts the challenge the anime impossed
...
on him, which is the whole point of the anime) and passes them anyway by brute force. In the topic of the MC it's really unbearable having one being so dumb, he doesn't even follow orders or rules, and gets off scott free thanks to Dumbledore being too nice.
It fails as a shonen offering no challenge to the MC both when it comes to fighting or following the rules of the school/world, and it fails as a comedy by having the same ol' repetitive jokes on how the MC can punch through everything. It serves only as a parody not worth watching

Riding on the hype for the real life soccer Word cup 2022 in Qatar, the anime was released at the perfect time to be overhyped (even using names of the irl players participating), grabbing more viewers than just the fans of sports anime.
Story:
Having that more audience worked as its advantage since as a sport anime its terrible in comparison, failing in every aspect that makes a sports anime a good sports anime, throwing out of the window everything related to tactics, analyzing opponents, teamwork, will, self-improvement as a player and as team, specific practice to improve specific skills, rivals (between teams or in-teams), action,
...
characters interactions/development/synergies, ect...
Very quickly turns into a SquidGames-kind of game instead, where the show pretends to make the Main Character seem like the underdog (being told it is considered the 2nd worst player participating) which is bull because his skills are at the same level as the other players. It even contradicts itself because the main motivation for the MC is him being angry about being so much better than everyone else and his team being trash, speaking of which:
The Main Character:
Everything about him is bad, he is not the underdog as the show makes tells you to be (contradicting what they're showing, a underdog would surprass their obstacles with superior tactics, harder training, stronger will or barely scrapping by, which is not the case since he brute forces through everything, gets the undeserved plot-armor luck and gets carried by another guy as plot-convinience), and he's not likeable either, he has the typical bland black haired protagonist design meant to be a self-insert, his motivations are shallow at best (wanting to become the best striker) and despicable at worst (trashing on everyone else and his teammates), having this edgelord mentality of 'I don't need any friends or a team, I'm a lone wolf', very depicted on the art style, making the edgy faces for MC multiple times, burning that image in your mind. His main objective is not being a better player, but a selfish one, making the viewer not wanting to root for him.
It is fine to have characters like this though, when a character starts with negative personality traits, it means they have room to grow up and become better, that's called 'character development', in another show it would: forcing that character out from their original and desired position, make them sit in the bank instead of being in the field, make them lose the match because of their errors; but not in this anime, it wants to be so edgy that not only the MC was never called out of his bad personality, but it is rewarded for it, since it's said the Blue Lock's objective is to create the 'most selfish striker who doesn't rely on his team, the biggest piece of shit person'.
Conclusion:
Heavily carried by animation and well timed date of airing. It wants to tell a story of a edgelord self-insert MC with backwards character development, poor to non-existent storytelling, zero likeable characters (all of them being egoists, which is the point of the Blue Lock itself), and a poor excuse of a sports anime. The message trying to convey is that 'be a piece of shit and rely on no one to succeed in a team sport' disregarding every position in soccer that isn't called "striker".
