Starts off with an interesting premise: the purpose of school is points, and points can be exchanged for anything but really difficult to obtain. You have a"bland" but mysterious MC who at first appears like a background character.

In the middle, because the series blew up trivial things in school over "points" and over dramatized them, I thought it was a bit silly. But then I started enjoying the psychological twist to each step, and eventually started to realize that the MC is much more complex than I initially thought. Though the other characters aren't that interesting, the MC really makes up for ... the series because it's a unique perspective that we hardly see in anime.

There are very few series that I've seen for which I was left satisfied with the ending. This is one of them, surprisingly. Though the story is incomplete, and we're kind of left at a cliff hanger, it's a really appropriate ending that satisfies the viewer up to this point yet leaves the viewer craving for more in the next season.

Somehow, I really ended up enjoying this series. Again, though the other characters are kinda "meh", the MC really makes up for everything in my eyes. He's mysterious, manipulative, and analytical, but this adds to the psychological edge of this series.

Genius. Plot twists all over the place. The ending connects very well with earlier parts yet catches you by surprise. I had goosebumps on the last page. Would strongly recommend if you like psychological/horror. This is amazing - it captures your attention and makes one marvel that the mangaka could pack so much so succintly.

I think this is a decent anime - despite receiving some not-as-high ratings by previous viewers. The art is really really good for sure, so you wont be disappointed on that front.

The plot is not bad - I dont know about other viewers, but I could predict the major plot twist much in advance. You will really feel the bromance when you watch this, but it's not shounen-ai or yaoi or anything close. Just nice, brotherly/family love.

You'll probably appreciate the MC's personality. As the middle sibling, he has some inferiority complex towards his talented older brother, and he wants to get stronger so his ... brothers can rely on him.

Anyways, it's worth watching. I smiled at the end, and felt like it was a good use of my time.

Spoiler Free Review! Brilliant. Simply a masterpiece. Each episode will keep you hooked, and you won't be able to stop till you've watched the entire thing.

"Monster" is for those who love the "cat and mouse" concept, and for those who get a kick out of the mystery, psychological, and intellectual-type anime. It's also quite easy to follow and you will definitely sympathize with the characters - except maybe Lunge. But if you find him annoying, don't worry - he gets better much later!

Ever wanted to watch an anime from the perspective of the chased? Here it is. There's an American film that has a ... similar plot - I forget the name but if you watch it, you'll instantly identify traces of "Monster" in it.

So anyways, this is a MUST WATCH anime. Especially if you enjoyed anime like Death Note. I would rate this higher than Code Geass, which was good but probably not as enjoyable as Monster. All in all, Monster deserves a 10/10 as a nice, sufficiently long and developed anime - it certainly makes my list of top 5 anime of all time.

***May contain spoilers*** Usually I wouldnt do a review if I agree with the current reviews, but I just HAD to express my opinions on this anime.

To start, the anime was quite interesting for the first few episodes. I'm not really a fan of the harem genre, but i really liked that the MC seemed to be quite badass and have lots of power.

However, the entire concept of "Brave" felt super, super stupid and out of place. What a hypocrite. Weak, and given power just because of a suit created by someone else. The "Hero" was really lame - the suit looked stupid, and ... he was really going against his 'Aniki' all along. I dont get why the MC apologized to the 'Brave' guy at the end cause really it should be the other way around. Brave could've killed the MC and not only that, but went insane for a stupid girl who he barely knew/was an idol who wouldnt even give the Demon King a chance to explain himself or anything.

The last several episodes were wayyy to rushed. They escalated waayyyy to quickly. So many times I had no idea which side the characters were on, and it felt pretty stupid overall - like this anime tries to have too much going on and fails miserably with it.

So, overall, I think giving a rating of 5 is being extremely kind. Like i said, pretty decent and interesting beginning, only to get really lame in the middle and utterly stupid by the end. Waste of your time and wouldnt recommend watching it.

I dont get why this anime is rated so poorly... seriously, it's good. Okay, not SnK level, but who doesn't want a badass MC who 1) isn't phased by clingy girls (except for maybe his sister), 2) has amazing, HIDDEN talent, 3) has a mysterious backstory, and 4) comes out well in terms of art?

Although Miyuki, the MC's sister is slightly annoying with "onii-chan, onii-chan" all the time, at least she's not a weak or stupid female who needs to be protected all the time. She's pretty powerful too.

Throw in magic and school life, and MKnR really comes to life!

I'm sure that almost all ... the female characters fall in love with the MC at some point but it's not harem or anything.

I think the only unsatisfying thing is the ending - the way they left it on a cliffhanger at the end teases us with the possibility of a 2nd season, but who knows if/when that's gonna happen? There's definitely more to the story cause there are still a few questions left unanswered at the end of the series -- I guess I'll have to read the LN to find out.

Anyways, I've never read the LN and the manga hasnt been translated fully, but I really enjoyed this series and rated it an 8 overall. This series shouldn't be avoided because of previous low ratings, or you're really missing out on an interesting series.
