with tsuda not being able to stop himself from touching endou's hair and pushing endou to cut his hair, we were shown how intrusive tsuda was since the outset. the way he wouldn't stop bothering endou bothered me so much and i felt uneasy the whole time i was reading it. at one point we were told that endou had taken an interest in tsuda long before they sat next to each other, but to me it still wasn't justified. the premise had potential and this could've been cute, but if there's one thing that i like about this manga is how supportive their friends ... were.

seeing the same person over and over again in your daily commute, stealing glances and making notes of each other through those glances, then feeling a sense of loss when the other doesn't get on at their usual stop? i'm sold.

kiyo and ino's relationship was developed slowly, both having no prior experience with a man, but surely. in the first volume, they got nervous when the other's around but they got more at ease with each other in the second one and it's really nice to see. i like how ino got a new haircut and didn't stay the same the whole manga look-wise.

over all, ... this was cute and enjoyable. i liked it.

the first story follows iida and torigoe who confessed to each other not long after they became members of the school festival executive committee; we didn't get to see how they came to like each other, there's no development whatsoever, everything was so rushed. they had no chemistry and their characters aren't that interesting, so all around it's not memorable.

the second story follows murakami and makoto. while this one felt rushed as well, it was established in the beginning that they're long-time friends and had been pining for each other for a while, so it's more believable? it's rapey, though.

doukyusei made me feel like i was in love the whole time i was watching it. it was so cute and tender and made love feel so easy, as it should be. albeit short and felt rushed at times, it was very sweet. the pair were really just trying to figure out how love works and it's so easy to root for them. their conflict was childish and easy to resolve, as how high school love should be. the only problem i have with the it is with harasen, he really had no business being that close to his students. overall, i really liked it.
