So after years of hearing and seeing the constant "is that a Jojo reference?" meme everywhere, I finally gave into peer pressure and decided to watch Jojo to see what all the fuss was about. Within a few days I knew that what I had decided to watch was going to become a new obsession with mine. Jojo's Bizarre adventure is truly a one of a kind anime and even with a slower start can still be found enjoyable. After watching part 1 I gathered a small list of Pros and Cons of the series.
Pros:
-The characters were all very memorable

fans deem the weakest, the characters are all ones that I'll remember for a long time. Everyone had their own interesting personality that made them stand out.
-The music
The music of this show is truly amazing. Whether it be a characters theme or the OP and ED, the music never disappointed. It always felt like it fit the situation that was playing out on screen without distracting from the show.
-The Art
Despite what first glance will show you Jojo's art is something that you grow to appreciate. When I first started the show I thought it looked weird and wasn't a fan of the art style or characters designs. As it goes on though it starts to feel more normal and you begin to appreciate how much work has been put into the art of this show.
-The Fights
One thing I really like in the anime I watch are fights that have brains in them. Jojo season 1 had just that. While the characters may look like massive muscle heads, there is a fair amount of logic used in the fights. If you like watching people try to outsmart each other than this show has the fights for you.
Cons:
While I really enjoyed the show I did have a pretty big nitpick about it.
-The Story
The story in part 1 and part 2 are a pretty typical shonen plot. It felt to me like something I had seen before in another anime. However they do put their own spin on it and make it feel unique and, well for lack of better terms, Bizarre. Part 1 can feel like a bit of a task to get through but it did get better for me. And if not then it's the shortest part in the series so it won't take you months or even days to finish.
Overall this was a show I was very hesitant of before I started it but now I look back at and was glad I did start it. Don't let the constant memes turn you away from a great show and super fun ride. Overall the first season is an easy 8/10
