First off, I must start by saying that I may be a little biased when reviewing this anime because I'm totally a sports anime fan. And having watched quite a number of sports animes, Over Drive came as a refreshing change for me.
_Story_
The protagonist of the story is your typical weak willed, unless, low self esteem guy in school. But what is different about his character to other similarly carved sports lead characters is that he has a sense of humor. Unlike other characters, he does not dwell on his uselessness much, which is definitely something i appreciate a lot, since these dwellings can drag
...
on long and slow. Zzz. (Refer to Eyeshield21)
The race (there is only one) in the anime is surprisingly exciting and interesting. I just could not stop watching episodes after episodes of the race. I mean, a race of bicycles must be boring, right? NOT. Though it lacks special effects that other sports anime have, the scenes are realistic and appealing.
_Character_
Furthermore, character development is cleverly embedded into the series by means of flashbacks during the race. You can get more than a glimpse of each main characters during the short 26 episodes, which is quite satisfying already. From the flashbacks, you learn why they enter the sport and why they are so passionate about it. And throughout the race, you enter into the anime and star rooting for all the characters unconsciously because all the main characters are so likable!
_Art_
The art is very simplistic in this anime, but easy on the eyes, and I came to like the art style a lot.
_Sound_
Not too sure about this, too absorbed in the story.
_Enjoyment_
Loved it! An anime that can capture my attention for almost all the episodes, and make me sit up and watch is certainly an anime I enjoyed much.
_Overall_
I would recommend all to watch this anime. It's comical at the right times, and touching at others. But I must say that the story borders on corny at times, but fret not, it doesn't happen often. And I am dissatisfied that the series is so short, I wished it continued on longer and showed us their journey through the Tour de France. Maybe in their next season?

My first impression of Hitman Reborn is that it is a very annoying anime. There are 3 little kid characters in the anime that have voices that are so high pitched and irritating. Imagine hearing those sounds on your noise cancellation earphones. But i was soon to be proven wrong.
Story
The story progresses quite slowly in the beginning 10-15 episodes. The first part of the series shows the relationship between Reborn and the protaganist, Tsuna. And it also gives an idea on the training that Tsuna will go through later in the series. These are mainly repetitive and give us a feeling of lame fillers. However,
...
i must urge you to bear with the first few episodes and continue on. Because later on in the series (when Tsuna and pals begin their training), will the real story begin. The real story includes boss fights and show how bonds later in the arc are formed, and make for me a very interesting watch. Later on will be a few more filler episodes, then towards the next arc - which has yet to complete its airing - but promises to not disappoint.
Art
Many of the characters in the series are 'babies' or kids, so the art tends toward chibi styled characters. For the rest of the characters, the art is quite simple but very likable.
Sound
Nothing much to be said in this section, but the first op was nothing to rave about. But the second and third op were much better, and so were the ending songs.
Character
The series follow through the experiences of the main protagonist. And it shows how he grows from a friendless useless boy to one with a 'family' and a will to protect them. Later in the series, the irritating kids i referred to in the beginning prove themselves useful and become likable characters. Tsuna (main character) is developed very well in this series, but i must express my disappointment that other characters are not developed that well yet. Especially Hibari and Yamamoto. However, this may be due to the series not having been completed, and we may see more of their development in the future.
Enjoyment
Aside from being slightly annoyed in the beginning of the episode, i feel that the main arcs of the story were very enjoyable. I do not encourage forwarding of episodes, or skipping episodes, but for the bulk of the first few episodes you may choose to do so.
Overall
I liked this anime quite a lot. It is not my favorite anime out there, but I most certainly did not regret picking up this series.

I absolutely adored Basilisk. Firstly, it probably had the most beautiful and well designed graphics in all the animes i have watched. The characters are well drawn, and the backgrounds and sceneries are simply breathtaking. It is most certainly a breath of fresh air from lesser animes with low quality graphics.
Secondly, Basilisk is extremely fast paced. Expect to see lots of action in every episode, and at least one person dying in each episode. This is widely in contrast with slow paced but highly raved about anime like Naruto. Furthermore, the fight scenes are well paced and thought out. It is anyone's guess who gets
...
to fight who next, keeping one in much suspense throughout the show.
Also, this anime is not just about killing and fighting and killing and fighting. Because, underneath these violence belies the main crux of the story, which is the tragic love between both main characters of the opposing clans which spanned two generations. The final episode is a fitting albeit predictable (to most) ending to the story, and is simply touching. Expect to shed more than a few buckets of tears, if you are the emotional sort.
Moreover, the reminiscence episode in the middle of the series brings in a tone of bittersweet happiness of the characters' past, which showed that the beginning of an acceptance of each clan before the killings started.
Lastly, i have to express my surprise that this series is not more well known than it is. And has grown to become one of my favorite animes. Highly recommended to all.
