Mushoku Tensei delivers a compelling narrative and top-tier animation, making each Sunday’s new episode a must-watch. The main considerable flaw being the MC’s occasional gross behavior, which honestly does nothing for the story.
This review applies up to S2 part 1 of the show.

The plot is engaging, and it’s the only show that had me consistently tuning in every week right when new episodes dropped. World building is top notch and you actually get enough depth to really learn about the world around the characters.

Most characters add complexity and depth, except for Rudeus. His occasional inappropriate and out-of-place behavior not only adds nothing ... to the story but actively detracts from the experience. Even if it’s meant to be “part of his character,” it comes off as unnecessary and distasteful given his age and the context. After reading up to Volume 23 of the LN it honestly has not done anything for the story.

That being said - the animation is stellar, which compelled me to read the Light Novels after watching the second season—an unprecedented move for me.

The music is good, but the show’s decision to forgo traditional intro/outro sequences for an uninterrupted experience is a refreshing choice that enhances immersion.

A turning point episode was especially impactful, and the series has high rewatch value—I’ve gone through it three times already.

In summary, Mushoku Tensei is a captivating anime with only a few missteps, notably concerning its main character’s behavior. Despite this, it’s a standout show that broke several ‘firsts’ for me.

Pluto offers an engaging, well-paced storyline accompanied by top-notch animation. I won’t delve into the plot or characters here.

I had no prior knowledge of the source material but was lured in by the impressive preview. Over two days, I was not disappointed. The animation remained consistently high-quality, and the voice acting was spot-on (watched 90% in subs).

Contrary to some opinions, I found the story straightforward. It does have subplots and side characters, but they don’t distract. For comparison, Stein’s Gate was harder to follow.

The series lost some momentum in the last three episodes, becoming somewhat predictable by episode six. That being said, the final episode ... really did drive the point home, giving a satisfying conclusion to the series.

Overall, Pluto is a compelling watch with very minor flaws. The visuals alone are worth your time.
