There's a lot of criticisms about this anime that I can get into. The animation quality is inconsistent, to put it mildly. The first few episodes it's literally been still pictures and cut frames only. Isagi's extensive monologues can get annoying and drag out. The tactics are absolutely dogshit; or should I say there are no tactics when 5 players are running in a straight line up the field in a counter-attack. Replaying the ball hitting the net 8 times got on my nerves.
And yet, I was addicted for the entire season. Learning new characters and the abilities of Japan's u-20 was what I was
...
looking forward to. The charisma of Oliver Aiku is charming and he very quickly became one of my favorites. Wanting to see the true abilities of Itoshi Sae after being teased in season 1, and the battle with Rin. The constant evolution of many players on the field to take their game to the next level brought home some iconic moments (Nagi's goal was INSANE!!!). Me selfishly wanting to see how the players respond after seeing the other side take the lead in stunning fashion. The sound effects completely elevating the moment in time during the game. I mean, there was an aura around this show that just kept me glued to it week-in and week-out.
Definitely worth a watch for the amateur soccer fan, or any shonen fan really.

This isn't a typical romance anime. Instead of get-togethers, it's centered around break-ups and dealing with lost love. In this case, 3 girls who have had a long-standing crush on someone now seeing them go out with someone else and having to deal with that pain. Hence the title 'Too Many Losing Heroines'. Throw in an MC with a background-character type of presence with no experience in the topic, and it makes for an interesting dynamic.
Makeine isn't a harem though. It's centered around building platonic relationships between the MC Nukumizu and the 3 girls who have been recently heartbroken. Each character has been developed through
...
this premise of coming to terms with their situations. The way they think is equivalent to that of a traditional high schooler but in a more complex manner. Komari had the longest arc of the 3 and it really showed the nuances of her character, her inner feelings and social awkwardness, yet she maintains a drive for self-improvement in a lot of areas, including being more outgoing. Lemon and Anna on the other hand are both very bright characters but deep down they have their own insecurities that they must deal with.
If you're looking for romance throughout the show though, you're mistaken. Like I said before, the show is surrounded by the formation of a platonic friend group between Anna, Lemon, Komari, and Nukumizu. I would totally recommend it though because this anime is relatable, reminiscent of my own past struggles.

I loved this show. It was a perfect romcom, Kuze is a very realistic main character who has the emotions, reactions, and thought processes that you would think a normal yet intelligent high school kid would. Alya is pretty much a typical tsundere but a bit more based in reality, she will get down to business with Kuze if she really needs to.
And yet this show provides some 'Classroom of the Elite' type vibes. Kuze has a past shrouded in mystery, originally born into a wealthy family separated due to the divorce of his parents, with high expectations of being an intelligent and prominent figure
...
in the household. During the election process, he knows exactly how to manipulate people emotionally and use that to his advantage. This is what elevates this romcom from the rest, and Alya is oblivious at first but Kuze is actually willing to share his knowledge with Alya so that she can become a better person and a better candidate for student council president.
The relationship between Kuze and Suou might raise a few eyebrows, but they are just siblings who are extremely close and deeply care for each other at the end of the day. This anime did try its best to appeal to fan service, and they made the most out of the opportunities they had, which makes some characteristic features a bit offputting.
The character art is amazing. I mean, Alya is just absolutely stunning with her sparkling eyes and silky hair, Kuze is extremely handsome, and the rest of the girls are super attractive.
I am looking forward to season 2, for the relationship between Alya and Kuze to grow as well as the battle between that pair and Suou for the seats at the head of the student council.

This show has a very interesting and yet realistic premise: a girl (Tomo) who fits the tomboy role, yet struggles with her femininity amongst being in love with her childhood friend (Jun) who reciprocates those feelings. It kicks off very well, displaying the bond between the two friends as an ultimate strength; in a quite literal sense since they have been learning martial arts together since they were kids and are now the strongest fighters in their town at high school age.
However, this premise soon backfires, and is executed poorly. Because Tomo and Jun are already such good companions, there is little room for progress
...
until an actual confession is made. All that is heard for the majority is "wow I like him/her because of [insert character trait]" yet no action is taken to capitalize upon it. Throw in Carol and Misuzu who are honestly a detriment to the plot because their presence is so annoying. They contribute nothing, and their personas are an abnormal and awkward fit with the main cast.
The main relationship is pretty cute to see considering the constant competition between them. It is more relatable than many other relationships seen in romance anime. However, their romance never makes any real progress until very late into the show. Gosh I wanted to like this show so much, but it took me almost a full year to finish this because it was cringe boring and slow.

I found this anime rather enjoyable. It may seem like your typical romance anime at first, where a bunch of girls crush on a dude whether they know it or not. However, what makes this one special is that they recognize these cliche tropes and joke about it within. For example:
Ruri always pointing out how scared Onodera is to make a move and mocking her for it.
Tomboy tsugumi is funnily scared to accept that she's a girl.
Ruri constantly pummeling the horny side character in Shuu.
Marie is the unusually aggressive character who has no chance in the end, but she actually does have a side to
...
her that's uncivilized when she's pissed off. I kinda like her "country" side.
Chitoge the tsundere, of course! The fact that not only she is in denial of her love, but the fact that both claude and tsugumi are making sure that the relationship is authentic (and quite frankly dont really want it to happen) brightens up chitoge's character. The general plot of chitoge and raku forcing to be in a relationship due to them being the heirs of rival gangs was a good, but not unrealistic, plot that was set up.
And the play in the final episode summed up everything that happened in a hilarious shakespearesque style (if you can call it that). This was probably my favorite episode in the anime.
Probably the only bad part of the anime was the continuous reference to Raku's locket he received 10 years ago when he was little from some random girl. It got really old and annoying.
The animation was the best and worst part. I loved the fact that whenever each character "threw up" from surprise when someone said something out of pocket, their barf was held up by sticks. Gives the anime some sort of puppet show aspect that I couldnt stop laughing from.
However, the animation of moving clothes was awful. The patterns on dresses remained static despite the wind blowing them, and that kind of made it annoying to watch at times.
Music selection was pretty typical for your average rom-com. Not terrible but not outstanding or memorable.
Overall, this isnt a masterpiece or a revolutionary anime by a long shot. But if you want to see something heart-warming or have an anime for a change of pace, this is a solid slice of life piece that offers a very good comedic effect.

Overall, this anime wasnt a total wow factor, but as I kept watching the more I enjoyed it. The fight scenes were really what made this up, and the comedic effects were well-timed and not overdone. However, many interactions felt rushed or out of place, and there were a few episodes where I was struggling to want to watch this anime. It started off great with Itadori eating his first Sukuna finger, but quickly turned pretty boring.
Quick breakdown of each ranking category:
Story - I pretty much covered this in my overall review, the fight scenes, and Itadori's massive growth with Toudou as well as the
...
end part of the anime were the best and most enjoyable parts for me. I didnt like that much of the show was focused on the battle between schools, it didnt feel like it belonged and the only thing interesting to get out of that was the abilities of the Kyoto school members.
Art- Animation was amazing, particularly during the battle scenes and especially with Itadori's abilities and Nobara's most iconic moment at the end where she evolves her straw doll techniques. I also LOVED both openings to the anime.
Sound - Not very good. Although yes I did mention that I loved both openings to the anime, including the music choice, the second ending was so boring and I skipped it every time after the first. The musical selection during the show as well was very odd and unfitting, especially with the old man and his rock guitar was annoying (and felt irrelevant) and the interaction between Maki and Miwa.
Character - I loved the overall development between the 3 main characters, and it is very easy to like Gojo Satoru. None of the other characters had any real flaws, although I wouldve liked it to be clear on who is the rat between Jujutsu High and the special grades.
Enjoyment- Mentioned in overall, but it was hard to force myself to watch episodes really up until Toudou and Itadori fight that special grade together.

My god, Attack on Titan was not one of my first animes but i wish it was. The story is so fun, the plot is extremely intriguing and had me hooked like some of my favorites had me. I was on the edge on my seat on whether Eren could take down the titans. Even the side characters who had no form of introduction, I couldnt help but feel remorse for them because they gave their entire effort for the cause. I admire the way that Mikasa, Eren, Armin, etc. compose themselves in these types of situations and have the determination towards their goals. Sometimes
...
their mindset can get a bit reckless but that is where Levi frequently comes in to tell them to think with a clear mind before channeling their energy toward the objective of killing the titans.
The reason this does not earn a 10 is because the animation is very basic. It wasnt bad and serviceable for the anime, but it didnt wow me either. The rather bold outline around the characters was not appealing. Sound was also rather decent, but very repetitive. For example, I would like to hear more creative sounds for the titans than were present in the anime.
Overall very fun to watch though! Definitely recommend as a top anime for literally anyone that can tolerate bloodshed.
