I really didn't expect too much coming into the second season of K-On. I watched the first season and thought it was good, but not great or anything. I didn't really get the hype over it.
And then I watched this second season.
What else can I say other than this show is great. Shows of the Moe genre typically don't come with too great of expectations, but this show just proves that even that genre can have absolutely fantastic animes.
Looking at the story, that's honestly probably the weakest part. It good, but nothing too special, as again it's moe. But it is still a very
...
sweet story of high school girls making their way through high school participating in the light music club, while also getting ready for their life after high school with college. Again, pretty basic, but it works out very well.
The characters drive this show. All of them are absolutely adorable, and perfect in every way. All of their interactions and exchanges with each other are perfect, and they feel very real. Each character is unique and just so adorable. (Also, very unpopular opinion: Ritsu is best girl)
The songs are also very good, but that's too be expected of a music anime. Besides the OP's and ED's, which are extremely good, the actual soundtrack of the show is very good and fits each scene very well.
This show was such a joy to watch and was much better than it outta be. K-On!! has its own place in my heart now, and I highly recommend you giving this a go.

Yeah, I didn't really enjoy this show that much.
Story: 3/10
It's basic, and nothing really happens. Angels and demons come to Earth and do everyday stuff, with the titular angel becoming a shut-in NEET. I don't know, it was very forgettable, and works more as a "Cute girls do Cute Things" type show. At one point they build up a plot that does seem somewhat interesting in episode 9 or 10, but they drop that right away by the next episode. IDK, not a whole lot can be said. The story wasn't good.
Art: 6/10
Its fines. It's cute. Nothing too great, nothing too egregious. It was fine.
Characters:
...
2/10
The characters kinda ruined this for me. All of them were extremely basic and ranged from insufferable to decent. To me, Gabriel was one of the most unlikeable main characters that I've seen in an anime. She's just a huge dick for no reason, and I hated her. I get that her character was supposed to be this shut-in loser who doesn't like talking to others, but I despised her so much. Raphiel was the basic ara ara girl who teases her friends. She wasn't as much of a pain as Gabriel and she was cute, but there was nothing else to her. Then there's Satania. She was either cute and somewhat funny, or extremely annoying. I don't know, her main character trait was yelling and crying. And then there's Vigne. She was easily the most tolerable one of the group and was cute, but again, she had no character at all. She was a devil who was very sweet. But her entire character was that. Nothing else.
Enjoyment: 2/10
This show didn't work as a comedy for me. The first episode I thought was funny, but after that, all of the jokes were completely mediocre to me. They reused quite a few of them as well. As I mentioned above, this probably works better as a "Cute Girls do Cute Things" rather than a comedy, because it doesn't land.
Overall: 3/10
I didn't like this show. But if you want to, go ahead and check it out. While it's not for me, a good number of people clearly enjoy it. And I can see why, this show isn't completely irredeemable, but it just wasn't for me. If you want a cute show to waste some time, check it out. But I think you'll be just fine without it. There are better comedies out there, and there are cuter shows out there.

This is quite literally one of the best animes that I have seen hands down, and people are sleeping on it.
Art / animation: 10/10
Yes, it is 3D. That turns some people off right away, and some people think that this is ugly and may have flashbacks to the newest Berserk, but the animation quality is absolutely ridiculous. The movements may seem a bit jarring at first, but you quickly realize just how great it is. It especially shines in some of the fight scenes, and you really can feel every punch that is thrown. People are always going to be uneasy about 3D animation in
...
anime, but honestly, it is phenomenal in this show.
Sound + Music: 9/10
The sound quality is perfect, and the soundtrack is pretty solid. In scenes, you can really feel the environment with sound quality. On the soundtrack side, it has a great opening, solid endings, and is really good in scenes. Not a whole lot that can be said.
Characters: 10/10
Beastars has some of the most complex characters that I've seen in anime. The anime does a great job of showing each character's unique backstory and the inner workings of their minds. The problems that these characters face, from everyday to life threatning does a great job at building them and showing how they make decisions and think. Each character is very unique and interesting in their own way, and they shine through in this anime.
Story: 10/10
I often see people say, "It's like an adult Zootopia". And as much as I hate the comparison, it kinda is. But that's also part of what makes it so great. The story takes through the eyes of a predator in an animal world and the problems that come along with it. Is he in love with a herbivore, or does he want to eat it? Can predators and Prey truly live without problem? The story starts as a bit of a slow burner and is very character-driven, but that is where it shines when it tackles the problems of prejudice and nature.
Overall: 10/10
No, I am not a furry. Yes, I love this show. It is truly unfortunate that people refuse to watch this show because they consider it furry because they are actually missing out on one of the best animes that come out recently. The animation is fantastic, the characters are great, the story is very good, and overall, it is fantastic. Please, at least give this show a shot. I promise you that it is worth it.

The story starts off very well for Beastars. The worldbuilding is great and the overall story is very strong. But that is only for the first 150 chapters. Over the span of the last 50 chapters, Paru tosses all of that out of the window, and the story devolves into a poorly written shonen, and many of the characters are either tossed to the side and become irrelevant or become extremely one dimensional. If this review was for the first 150 chapters, the rating would honestly be a 9, maybe even a 10. I really loved this series, so to put so much time into
...
it and see it devolve the way it did is truly upsetting. However overall as an entire manga, beastars is good. Its art is rough but works to its advantage, the story overall is good, the characters are good, and overall I enjoyed the series. This manga is good, but it definitely was a victim of a rushed ending.
