TW FOR MENTION OF R@PE AND SA!!!!
I initially hadn’t heard much at all about this manga before I read it. I had heard it was a good LGBTQ+ manga, and I’m a sucker for queer manga, as a queer person. I picked it up at a comic store because I simply recognized it. I genuinely didn’t think I would love this manga as much as I really did.
As I stated before, I’m a queer person (genderqueer and aroace, he/him & other pronouns), so I usually love to read queer manga, especially with trans characters, such is the case with Boy Meets Maria.
Yuu
...
Arima, also known as Maria is a genderqueer character who’s gay, and uses he/him pronouns. I thought this as such an important piece of representation with how people under the non-binary umbrella aren’t obligated to be androgynous and use they/them pronouns and whatnot. Not only that, I love to see trans people, especially non-binary people receiving the love they feel they didn’t deserve but definitely needed, especially considering past trauma and past experiences. As sad as this manga was, I felt such a deep connection to the story and how trans people are portrayed.
I wanted to add one last thing to this quick review; transgenderism does not always occur based on trauma, whether it comes to extremely poor parenting, or external trauma such as rape and sexual assault. This manga isn’t supposed to be generalizing trans people’s experiences, but more of a specific experience. Everyone’s story is different.
I still wholeheartedly believe that the message this manga was trying to share was so powerful and relatable. I love this manga so much, and if you’re a trans/queer person who’s looking for something quick to read, I totally recommend this manga. (However I do suggest looking up the page numbers for the trigger warnings so you can skip those parts.)
Have a good day <3

"Even if I don't have feelings, I can still think. Even if I don't have pain, I'm sure I can still connect." - Katsuhira Agata
Kiznaiver isn't your normal everyday romance. As much as people would disagree with me, Kiznaiver is something special, to me, at least.
Let's start with the story. I have to be completely honest, the story gets a 9/10. I know, it may seem genetic or stupid, but it's not something you can find every day. It's not something just anyone could come up with. You won't find a story like this within any other work of fiction. The way everything just,
...
connects, the way every character deals with the problems put before them, it's quite beautiful. It's imperfect. It's realistic.
The art receives a 9/10 as well. I'm not sure if it really fits the tone of the anime, but even so, it's quite beautiful. I expect nothing less from an anime made by Studio Trigger...
Next, the sound. This receives a 7/10. The soundtrack definitely fits with the tone of the anime and fits well with the art, but it's not perfect. It's still good, though, I can't lie about that. The opening and ending is okay, again it's not perfect, but I've seen worse....
Next, the characters. This gets a 9/10. All of them, they're just so, perfect, but imperfect at the same time. They're realistic as far as my knowledge goes. I know I got so emotionally connected to them, especially Katsuhira. The idea of which he can't feel pain is a little genetic, I know, but it's so interesting... I found myself getting wrapped up within his emotions and pain and happiness even if those appear not to one's first glance.
Lastly, the overall score. This gets a 9/10. I love everything about this anime. It's imperfect, that's what makes it so enjoyable, and so easy to connect to. It's so easy to fall in love with. It's so easy to see yourself in each and every one of their characters. It felt as if you were one of them, it felt as if you were connected through their wounds and pain. I loved Kiznaiver, so much. I just hope whoever is reading this does, too.

Okay, I felt like I needed to speak up on my opinion on this show. In my opinion, it really wasn't that bad.
Let's start with the story; 8/10. It was perfectly paced, and didn't have me bored at any points. I could continue watching without wanting to go do something else. The one thing that does bother me about the story is how it doesn't match up with the manga, or so I've heard (I have not read the manga. I am planning on it.) But, at least for the anime, it's not a boring story.
Next, the art. I was pretty disappointed at the
...
beginning that the art was very simple and you could notice a lot of places where they obviously rushed and it ended up looking weird. But, once I got more into the anime, the animation and the style became so much more bearable, it was rather, pretty. This is certainly not an anime where they ran out of budget near to the end and had to cut some corners. The last few episodes were gorgeous, as a matter of fact. The art gets a 7/10.
Next up, we have the sound. I'll make this part quick since I spent so much time on the art part. It's okay, it's not bad but I've heard better. All of the openings were bops, not going to lie, and the soundtrack definitely helped set up the mood for certain scenes. It was better than average, but not the best. 7/10.
The characters are a 7/10. The two main characters, Benio and Rokuro, weren't too bad. They were pretty predictable and genetic at first, but then they grew into more developed, and well thought-out characters that I personally connected to. The supporting cast was, not as good as the protagonists, but they weren't too bad either.
The enjoyment; 8/10. I enjoyed the heck out of this anime. It took me a little more than a week to watch it because I wanted to know what happened next... It's hard to explain how I enjoyed it, but I do know for sure that I did, and I hope whoever is reading this does, too.
The overall score this show gets is an 8/10. I suggest for that if you were to watch this anime, you make it past episode 30 before you judge anything. It's a common mistake on many people's parts. That's when this anime starts to form from a genetic, very average shonen exorcist anime into an anime that is so worth watching 50 episodes for. I hope everyone who gives this anime a shot enjoys it as much as I did.

Here's a short summary for those who need one.
We'll start with the story. I won't go too much into detail since there's already a summary. I give the story an 8/10. It's very solid, not too fast but not too slow, and there wasn't really anything to be confused about, at least for me. It kept me entertained enough to be excited for the upcoming episode.
Let's talk about the art. I give it a 7/10. The style, in my opinion, was very pretty, I give it a good 8/10, but the animation wasn't the best. It was watchable, but not the best.
I give the
...
sound a 7/10. The soundtrack was decent enough and matched pretty well with the show's mood. The opening and endings were decent, and catchy.
The characters receive an 8/10. When I had initially started watching this anime, the characters didn't particularly stand out to me in any way. However as the story rolled itself through, the characters became more realistic and, comforting, in a way. Of course they're not perfect characters. But they fit well with the story.
And, the overall score is an 8/10. I hope that helped anyone who would like to watch this show :)

(Keep in mind I have NOT read the manga, so I may be wrong about some things.)
Let's start with the story. I found myself wrapped up within the lives of these characters, specifically the two main characters. The romance kept me on the edge of my seat every single episode, and every week I'm always excited for a new one to fall into my hands. The comedy is decent, sometimes I thought to myself, "Oh, okay then..." but sometimes I laughed out loud. I found the jokes regarding characters making fun of other characters in a friendly way very funny, since I do relate to
...
it. The story gets an 8/10.
Now's the art. I thought it was very beautiful, and the characters' designs match very well with their personality in a not-so obvious way, meaning it took a little while to realize this. the art is a good 9/10.
The sound was pretty good. The voice acting is amazing, the voice actors portray the characters very very well. I even found listening to some of the characters' voices, comforting? The voice acting receives a 10/10, but there's something that brings it down. The OST was hard to find when watching the series. I didn't hear it that often, which bothered me because the OST is pretty essential when setting the mood. There was some here and there, but not as often as it should be. The opening is good, I hum along to it, but the ending isn't as good, but it's not bad. The audio gets an 8/10.
Ah, the characters. I found the two main characters very relatable and cute, Hori and Miyamura. I especially liked how Miyamura was very respectful when it comes to pushing a relationship. Hori, I simply found her very cute and comforting.
Overall, I dub this a 9/10 anime thus far. This could change as the series goes on, but for the moment, it's a 9/10.
