From the trailer I could already tell it would be an awesome movie. And I was right.
Story:
It had a captivating storyline, which had brought me to tears. It's a delicate, unique and meaningful story. With the genre of supernatural (the story has demons and such), there is plenty of action within it and tearful moments too. The "young boy" from the synopsis is the main character for the movie, Rin plays part of the main role too and the story revolves around them. A deep bond is formed between the two despite difficulties created from it and the complex storyline slowly develops. Overall, how they
...
slowly revealed parts of "missing" information throughout the movie was really good and made you really wish that the scenario would change and it would of been a different ending. The development of the story was what attracted me to it and my me feel deeply for what was going on.
Art:
The art for Ao no exorcist was nice. They did an especially good job creating the even more beautiful and breath-taking artworks for the sceneries and backgrounds within the movie. There was quite a traditional look to the artwork that was appealing to me. The character designs are great as well exactly how'd you'd expect to see them like, so fits it very well with the story. The new character in this movie "the young boy" his design was made very cute and it just makes you adore him for his looks.
Sound:
Well, just like any other incredible movies this one had the same quality sound as those! The sound effects, voices, background music and other sounds in the movie were portrayed really realistically. The voice actors for all the characters were well-picked and fitted very well with the character's personality. The background music was something that really did made me get into its atmosphere in the movie it was trying to created. It made the dramatic parts give an even bigger impact on me. I liked ending song too.
Character:
Well, if you've already watched the TV show of this, you should pretty much know the characters quite well. But I'll give you a brief note on what some of them are like. Rin is quite stupid but very strong and trusts his friends deeply and he does think a lot too despite being silly and joking around, seemingly carefree but as a result of his kindness towards others or maybe just stupidity in some cases he just causes plenty of troubles. This of course stresses his little brother Yukio as he's definitely more responsible and smarter than Rin and acts more like the elder brother as he takes care of the Rin most of the time and has a higher social standing too (a true exorcist while Rin is only an Ex-wire in the organisation, which is a lower position) and as brothers they argue quite a bit too.The main characters are all really well developed with all their uniqueness and special features, which make them who they are. I liked all the characters in this as they were very realistic, although some very minor characters were quite stereotypical but overall gave that aspect of something an average person would think or feel or just show their beliefs. It really strikes your heart, the impression Rin gives and also Usamaro (the young boy), they are unforgettable characters I will definitely not forget them!
Enjoyment:
Seeing as all my comments and opinions are positive. The enjoyment out of this movie was outstandingly high I might even say 100/10 to try and express the amount of enjoyment from this. There's no way I couldn't enjoy this as it literally had everything that would make it enjoyable for me. I'm personally an ao no exorcist fan but I think others will enjoy this due to the wonderful plot it possesses. I just want to re-watch this while I'm writing its review! This is a great movie and I should so totally buy the DVD for it then I can watch it at home on my T.V and enjoy! It's a very unforgettable movie and will stay fresh in my mind forever!
