I couldn't stop smiling while reading this manga. I think it'd be fine for young children, but I am an adult and still enjoyed it a lot. Throughout the story, Nicola gets into mishaps, but nothing ever seems too dangerous for her. I wouldn't call it scary at all. It's funny, but also very charming.
The art style is so pretty, it's compared to a children's storybook and I have to agree. A lot of the characters have a style that is old-school in a way that is somewhat nonspecific in its inspiration. It's very cute, though I wonder if there's going to be a reason

Despite being a long-time anime watcher, this was my first manga a little over 3 years ago. The world that Dungeon Meshi (I prefer Dungeon Meshi to Delicious in Dungeon as delicious is hard for me to spell) builds is sublime. I wouldn't say the story is incredibly compelling, but it's somewhat reminiscent of a slice-of-life. It cuts back to the characters when something important is happening, usually when it's time to eat. I find it easy to pick up and read without really worrying about getting confused on what was going on before. I haven't found myself annoyed at any contrivances, or plot lines
