Unfortunately, even despite the amazing direction and animation, this ending still fell flat for me. They removed some unnecessary dialogue, but this arc still felt just like a marvel-type spectacle, not something that preceded it before. Despite the “millions of titans”, large stakes this felt like a playground fight. No one seems to be hurt by the most powerful enemies we’ve seen in the whole series, and “millions” of them. The characters get hurt, randomly recover and go back to battle again with no problems. False danger, false stakes - a story with nothing on it.
Even ignoring all of that, this movie still completely

Episode 0, Dead Dead Demons Deeded Destruction
I've been waiting for this anime for 3 and a half years and honestly it feels quite unbelievable to be watching it right now! This is a pretty weird place to start the anime at, as it kind of spoils a lot of the events but also brings some intrigue for what happened before this. The animation for this episode disappointed me, as although the background art was fantastic the art direction was kinda... off? Animation was stiff at times and characters would go off model a lot. There are many words with which you can describe Inio Asano's works: stellar, graphic, beautiful, melancholic, exciting and most importantly, realistic. When I first started a wild ride through his works, I haven't expected much, but going further and further into "Goodnight Punpun" it continued hurting me by how grounded to reality it was, and the creative use of Asano's art makes the characters relatable to anyone. Well, I'm getting a big far away from the original topic.
