Whoa. This manga totally exceeds its description. It’s a bit like Fujimoto and Togashi had a secret love child. Immediately the way of doing paneling, the pacing and casual world building is superb. On one hand it’s got a strong 90s/00s vibe to it but on the other hand it feels really fresh.
The way this story is told is definitely the standout feature for this manga. Instead of starting out with some big hero journey or tragedy it starts out almost… mundane. Lots of time is spent showing the world and the characters emotions. It’s plot boils down to an average shonen plot but it’s
...
the casual yet intentional manner that it’s portrayed that keeps it feeling engaging and unique. It’s definitely a visual manga often using panels to portray time passing or to represent a general feeling through the environment.
As for the plot and characters, they’re nothing incredibly innovative or anything, but they’re what you would want for a shonen manga, nothing more and nothing less. Though even with 4 chapters there has been some degree of character growth already so there’s potential for there to be a lot more here. And I think the dynamics of the world the author creates has a lot of room to expand and take in interesting directions.
It might not be everyone’s cup of tea, and tbh I don’t know if it’ll survive the axe, but it’s definitely piqued my interest in this mangaka going forward. They have a very unique vision and a talented eye.

Buckle up, this one is a mouthful.
First off, I haven’t read the author’s previous manga, I knew next to nothing about this series, and am not particularly sentimental for Super Sentai/Power Rangers so you could say maybe I’m missing some context, or that I have a pure perspective—your choice. Either way this is a really shaky series. Sometimes while reading I was engrossed to the point of not being able to put it down! And other times I felt like I just wanted to skip through the pages of seemingly forced flashbacks and backstories that try desperately (and often fail) to pump up a villain
...
or side character—literally in the middle of a big battle.
It’s a really frustrating experience reading this manga. Starting off, the premise is interesting enough, but it takes a really slow path to having any real direction. Once it gets going the characters are interesting and engaging, and then the author somehow manages to consistently take those interesting characters and throw them into the back burner to pursue some other new plot line.
Honestly it often just feels like a manga that isn’t playing to its strengths. It’s obvious to me this author is great at characters and their relationships, but it really feels like the author is fighting against their nature trying to force the story to be more actiony and battle shonen like. I think if it would focus on its strengths, play up the drama at a slow burn it’s payoffs wouldn’t feel so rushed and hollow like they do now.
As others have alluded to, the author’s art is really a miss for action too, half the time I am truly lost as to what is happening and the non-linear style, perspective swapping and frequent micro-time skips don’t help at all. Especially near the last quarter that I’ve been reading I’ve struggled to keep a clear picture of what is going on.
Overall this manga is really disappointing because it really feels like it could be truly an interesting perspective on a legendary Japanese series that pleased long term fans and made new ones. But as it is, it’s unfortunately just a big idea with no real clear substance.

Boy, what a manga. It’s honestly unlike anything I’ve read recently. How to describe it… I suppose it’s a ‘horror’ but it’s not really trying to scare you persay. It’s definitely not light reading, it’s got very dark themes of abuse and neglect and a fair amount of gore so if any of that scares you off you’re probably not gonna be into this.
That being said I found it pretty engaging. The plot isn’t really that unique, in short people can become ‘mummified’ where they essentially become evil and can mind control others. Although they don’t say it directly it’s basically demonic possession just a
...
little tweaked. The style sort of floats somewhere between mystery and action, never quite going full action, but also not really giving enough nuggets to be a proper mystery.
All that being said I think the plot and setting seem to be a backdrop for what the author is really trying to tell which is the ways humans can be bad to each other. It has a lot in common with those ‘nu horror’ movies like hereditary where the focus is on tension and allegory over old school jump-scares, surrealism or gorefests. It does a good job fleshing out some unique characters and drip feed’s you their personality so you wonder what they’re all about. I think there’s potential for a really unique manga if this keeps up.
The art is also quite clean and easy to digest which I think is essential for this kind of experimental work.

Firstly, if you’re looking for a battle Shonen, mystery or thriller; carry on cause this ain’t it.
This manga is probably most comparable to Rosario to Vampire or maybe a less mature (both in H content and storytelling) Tsugumomo. The manga prioritizes harem first, action far second, sprinkled with touches of ecchi and drama here and there.
It definitely stumbles a bit in its pacing and direction at first but I think it’s starting to get its legs around chapter 8 or so. It differs a bit from the typical dumb unaware harem protagonist by having a somewhat tragically beaten down protagonist that has a strong sense
...
of justice that only comes out when he wants to protect people.
So far it hasn’t really done anything too revolutionary but it’s definitely showing signs of potential, some of the backstories are somewhat engaging and the characters (while pretty stereotypical) feel authentic in their actions.
It definitely has the feel of an author desperate to keep their serialization but I think there’s some real potential for a good story to emerge as the author gets more comfortable
Art’s not bad either.

I’ll start out by saying if you don’t like manga with boobs and looks of pervy stuff, kindly move on because it’s not meant for you.
Putting aside the lewds this manga is absolutely hilarious. The author is very self aware of how dumb the genre of fantasy manga has become and leans into every trope with just the right amount of seriousness without truly every losing it’s self awareness. It starts out a bit rough and makes you wonder where it’s going, but it starts to pick up in later chapters.
While the manga is ultimately a gag manga it actually has some decent world building
...
and lore. The characters are well fleshed out and while they are generally stereotypes they actually have motivations and desires outside of their one line descriptions. I’ve laughed out loud many times reading this which I’d say is pretty rare for me.
Now briefly about the bad parts…
For a manga about lewds and cute girls the art is… disappointing. It’s passable and I’d say the expressions are really good but it’s really cartoony in parts and while some of the environments are well drawn, honestly a lot of the characters themselves and their anatomy and detail leaves something to be desired.
Also as mentioned many times already it is super pervy, and sometimes that feels a little like an afterthought. Like the author starts writing something interesting or funny then remember that it’s an ecchi manga and compulsively add some fan service or boobies.
Overall I think it’s a really funny and competent parody manga with lots of fan service. Sort of like konosuba but not quite as adept or clever but still really enjoyable.

Honestly with this kind of stack you would have to be some kind of uncultured simpleton to not enjoy this manga.
...
I am 100% certain this will be a manga for the ages. If I had to compare it, maybe the FLCL of its era.
It starts out a bit scattered and confusing but quickly finds its legs. Even though it has a lot of asspulls and silliness it somehow feels consistent and charming every time it does it. I’m super excited to see how it turns out a few years from now.
Stop reading this and go read Dandadan
