My first though why I watched 1st episode of Garo (just like it was with SoulTaker) was: Oooh~ My! Gods!... for the new and old! JAM Project opening~! Like in Garo, SoulTaker have very special opening created only for this particular anime. I dunno why, but only when I see opening either in Garo or SoulTaker I am just turned on to watch the whole episode without blink. Beside that SoulTaker like in Garo have "Super Hero" action plugged which just give us quick-fire heartbeat. Old, but still awesome motive of changing to battle mode (transforming) is something that just remind of old movies, serials and anime. Specially if you like the slowly growing amount of surrealism in Garo I'm bet that you'll like SoulTaker. From one side SoulTaker have a much bigger value of surrealism in it, which scared some of people from watching it and what is good IMHO that Garo doesn't drop us on depth see, but raising this amount episode by episode. In SoulTaker you'll be just dropped in deep surreal ocean! I hope that you wan't be dissapointed if my recommendation will convince you to watch SoulTaker or Garo :) Cheers!
