The premise of this story is very straightforward, without much mystery to add on top of it all. I was quite positively whelmed by this short series, but not impressed in the least. As far as BL/Yaoi titles go, this one was just slightly above average.
Instead of writing a detailed review, I'll give you the short and narrow on the pros and cons of the series:

Given the high intensity, originality and dynamic energy of the anime, I had high hopes for the manga version of Kill La Kill. Turns out I was sorely disappointed, but not completely let down either.
The art style is indeed different, but not at all unpleasant, and it has that dynamism and over the top character that largely defines the anime's esthetic.
