Eiga Daisuki Pompo-san aka "A movie on how to make a movie!". It's a love letter to all the classic filmmakers.
At the very end of the year, I got my "Anime Movie of the Year". Its visuals are so beautiful that you just want to stare at them. In this ninety-minute movie, so much energy, so many ideas, so much food for thought, and emotions have been packed in that I was honestly surprised. The characters are as vivid as they are realistic. There are also some great dialogues.
The story is about the journey of making a life dream come true. The message of the
...
story is simple, but it touches the heart. The direction is also worth talking about - there are many surprises in the scene sequencing and camera angles. Overall, I had a great time. It's definitely something to watch time and again.

This OVA just came out in Eng sub a few days ago. And here I am writing a few lines about it after having finished watching. I'll keep it short. This OVA is chronologically set up between S2 and S3. The positives were the plot/storyline and the production value of the first three quarters. Our favorite girls were put in a very interesting scenario where they had to fight it out amongst themselves, while the mood was always light and friendly. The drawback, however, was it severely cut corners presenting the musical performances at the back end of the show.
All in all, I'm really happy
...
to see Kumiko gang at it again and KyoAni delivering fairly well once more. Do watch if you're into this franchise and heads up for upcoming season 3 😃

Take out the second word from the title and the rest will be my one-word-opinion on the film :3
The story is as interesting and unnerving as it is relatable. The animation is smooth and mimics real life, making it quite suitable to the story and theme it's going for. Different kinds of sounds have been used in the film as a means to connect to the viewers. The characterization is just a masterclass. We can easily delve into each character's psyche and understand their actions. They feel... terrifyingly real. There is no wasted moment in this relatively short movie. Literally every frame has a
...
purpose, whether be to carry the plot or add characterization or something else. It is truly a work of art by the master Satoshi Kon. I enjoyed it to the fullest.
It took me a bunch of rewatches and a review video to totally get what the movie was trying to convey. And on this instance at least, the time I spent paid off.

After watching the first season of SAO, a question might arise in your minds - "how did Asuna get this good? How did she get into VRMMORPG anyway?" This movie shows the opening events of SAO in Asuna's POV, expands on her backstory, and answers those questions. The actions scenes and the music were fire, really enjoyed those. The writing got real sloppy in the second half though. But it was a real treat to see so much characterization of Asuna in the first half.
Story: 6/10
The plot felt rather mediocre because we have already experienced many stories like this (yeah ik SAO was one of
...
the pioneers of this genre).
Art: 8/10
Nothing much to complain here. The mix of 2D and 3D was a hit.
Sound: 9/10
The strongest part of the movie. It had the experienced Iwanami Yoshikazu and LiSA involved. It was a great experience.
Character: 5/10
After building up the character Misumi, the movie neglects her a lot in the second half. Also the friendship of the two girls doesn't get proper treatment in the end.
Enjoyment: 7/10
Got to relive some great moments of the opening season. Enjoyed the action scenes a lot as well.
Overall: 6/10
Could've been higher if they didn't include some sketchy elements like some stuff between the two girls and a monster attack on Asuna.

Time to write a review on Revealing Reviews HAHAHA....
Anyways, this short OVA is well written indeed. It gives a glimpse on the characterization of Chise and Beatrice. They both watch a fairy-tail-monster-hunt movie together and basically give reviews on it in front of the moe spy gang. The two of them have very different takes on the movie, which goes to show how the viewer's personality traits have an effect on their observation. The part they enjoyed, the part they didn't enjoy, the part they focused on - everything is different. It was a really fun and somewhat insightful watch. What more to expect from

Just watched the recently released Kakushigoto compilation movie. It somehow compressed the TV series into a roughly 80 mins long film. It showed almost all of the beginning and ending part, and skipped a lot of the middle part if I'm not wrong. The extra scenes were added to give vital information about Hime's mom and to stretch the ending a little bit. One of the main problems of the TV series was the rushed ending, but this movie tried to fix that. I would've liked the duration to be longer and more scenes from the TV series to be added, but I still liked
...
it a lot and got emotional just like as when watching the TV version.
Recommended for those who liked the TV series. And no, it cannot be used as a substitute to that.

This review is in both English and Bengali.
-----English-----
In a word, a modern masterpiece. There is no reason not to watch this. It will always be a jewel in the mystery genre.
Brief introduction:
The story takes place in Tokyo, Japan. The protagonist of the story is a middle-aged taxi driver named Odokawa. His nature is to speak less and speak in a cynical tone. In each episode of the story he serves different passengers. In the story, he happens to be involved in the kidnapping of a high school girl. He gets chased by two members of the Japanese mafia. Will Odokawa be able to save himself
...
and go back to normal life?
Story: 10
Great plot. As unpredictable as it is fun. Many seemingly isolated plot points continue running in parallel here. In each episode, viewers are given small clues so that they can take part in solving the main mystery of the story with Odokawa. With great direction and scriptwriting, the story has come to life. And the twist of the last episode of the story has taken it to the heights of a masterpiece.
Characterization: 10
This anime provided the best characterization that was expected from a story centric show. Although the number of episodes of the story is low, there are a lot of characters. Nevertheless, one can easily connect oneself with the characters, understand their mentality, guess what they might do at a point in time. They seem to be real life characters. The side characters have also been carefully portrayed.
Art and animation: 8
Somewhat unique art style and character design has been used here to complement the story. Although it was not dazzling, there was no deviation in the enjoyment.
Sound: 9
Opening songs, ending songs, background music - everywhere the sound has been used in the light of the city pop theme. It fit perfectly with the thrilling story happening in the city of Tokyo. The director did not hesitate to use different sounds according to the mood of the story.
Enjoyment: 10
As a fan of the Mystery genre, this anime was my best gift this year. I used to wait eagerly for it every week. I will remember for a long time the characters of the story, the cynical talk of Odokawa, the very real issues that come up in the story, and that strong twist at the end of the story.
Check it out without delay. Watch it again and again. Because there are many clues scattered in this gem!

In brief, the story is about catching vicious murderers by diving inside their brain to find clues on how to identify them. The investigators basically go to a world created by the particles left from the murderer's killing intent. But while doing this, they find out that there is another manipulative villain out there, who might be responsible for making these murderers kill people. So now the chase begins to catch them.
The first thing I noticed was the commendable direction. A mystery anime needs to provide just enough clues/info to keep the viewers interested, but not too much so that most viewers figure out the
...
mystery early *cough* erased *cough*. ID Invaded passed this test with flying colors. The mystery unfolded itself in a nice way which had me in the edge of my seat the whole time.
I found the mystery itself to be good and most importantly, logical. The ending made sense to me as well.
Visually, the anime is a bit weird tbh. The character designs didn't look that good, and in some places they didn't look consistent. But it wasn't a big factor to hamper my enjoyment.
The use of soundtracks was noticeable. This anime definitely has some good tracks. Both the OP and ED are good. Especially, the music in the penultimate episode really is cool.
Overall, this is the anime that really stands out of the crowd this season. This made the feel the nostalgia of completing a very good anime after a long long time. This is so far the best anime of the season for me. I sincerely thank the people who recommended me this, cause chances are that I might not have seen it otherwise.
Do give this anime a try, if you haven't already 😋

This anime tells the journey of three high school girls to make anime. One is a pocket rocket of imaginative powers and has great skills in background art and sound direction. Another is a passionate animator. And the third girl? Watch the anime to get your answer 😉 Together they make a fun combination and compliment each other nicely.
This anime is short, sweet, and straight to the point. No excess shenanigans or nothing. It shows us in nice detail about various aspects of the anime industry: character design, animation, attention to detail, when and why to use 3D graphics, the suitable use of sound, the
...
list goes on and on. There is a lot of information packed up in this anime. But they are presented in an interesting way. But it can be tough at times to totally follow what's going on. That's why you may have to rewind some scenes to get it.
The strongest feature of the anime is it's character development. The three main characters are relatable and really fun to observe. Their traits are really well portrayed in the anime. I think as the anime didn't try to do anything extra or unnecessary, it was able to use up it's 12 episode length really wisely. So the direction and pacing are also praiseworthy. It's OP is probably the catchiest of the season.
This anime is a great tribute to the anime makers, showing the hardships they face to make anime. And it's one of those anime that you can rewatch again and again at a later time, and feel just as good if not more.

For some reason I can't remember now, I didn't watch this movie until today. Very recently I saw a nice clip of this movie, and heard some good stuff about it. Had some spare time, and decided to watch it. Here are some random thoughts.
The visual and the music and the overall atmosphere is definitely on par with other good Ghibli films. As expected from a Hayao Miyazaki directed film.
I liked the theme of the movie a lot. It's about mankind's destruction of the natural balance and a guy trying to retaliate against this (and probably taking it a bit too far). Further details will
...
be spoiler. It had some interesting mentions about prehistoric earth and it's extinct animal species. That was really cool.
The first 2/3rd of the movie was great. But the ending kinda felt far-fetched. Some concepts and plot points came out of nowhere and it got crazy real quick. But I guess it's forgivable, considering it's target audience xD.
Overall, a fine movie. I guess I am a bit too old to enjoy this completely. But worth the time nonetheless.
