-Story and characters-
3-gatsu no lion falls into the "slice of life" category. I find it hard sometimes to enjoy fully most of these animes. However when I find something I like, I quickly fall in love with the story. The main chara Kiriyama is an introverted and quiet teen who is going through traumatic events, on top of that he shows signs of depression and guilt. Throughout the show we can see and feel his anxious mind going through a lot of pain and that made me so sad I could almost feel this pain. But as the show goes on at a very slow
...
path, they teach us the importance of caring for others and seeking help when in need. I strongly appreaciate mr .Takahashi's (his high school teacher) words. The sisters that have been helping Kiriyama are becoming his support and new found hope. But let's not forget it envolves Shogi, a tradictional eastern chess. I have to admit that there are several long scenes about shogi that are kinda confusing. The show won't tell you exactly what's happening but it would rather narrate the players feelings and strategies. As a charather I really like Kiriyama, he seems very mature but he lacks the ability to take good care of himself and to be more open about his feelings, I sometimes doubt he knows himself. Only when people around him look for him then he realises how much he was holding in.
-Art and sound-
The animation fits perfectly with the mood- the inner feelings and the outer enviroment- As many people have noticed, the town where Kiriyama lives is surrounded by a river. There are a lot of moments where water and river are mentioned : when he feels so lost all he can do is drown or how peaceful it is to him to watch the surface of a clear river. The bridge that links his neighbourhood with the sister's house is shown to visually represent his barrier to the outside world. Sometimes this can bright and warm and sometimes it could be windy and dark. The art for the op and ed are original, I love the hand drawn style and the soft colors, the glowy eyes and dramatic scenes. The songs aren't remarkable but plays well with the story.

When Fire Force S1 came out 2 years ago I watched the first episode and didn't quite like it. I can't explain why, it just reminded me of an weird sort of isekai (the genre I hate the most) But I am glad I kept watching.
The world makes sense to me, I didn't know a single element such as FIRE could be so versatile. The characters are quite likable, all of them with their perks but overall very lovable. Especially Shinra, Arthur and Maki.
The most remarkable aspect of Fire Force, is the battle scenes. The sound effects are just on point. Like, that
...
would pretty much be how pyrokinetic powers sound like to me. And the final scene was also remarkable.
Both the ending and opening are catchy and go well with the story. The art style of the endings is killing meee, I need to know the artists.
Oh, and also wth is Victor Licht? VERY SUS , I don't like that guy.

Unlike many, I haven't read or watched Gantz. Now I know it's a sci-fi action manga created by the same mangaka however I may not be able to compare these works.
As a first-timer to Hitoya Oku's work, I must say that the art style is unique and it definitely drew my attention. There is some CGI work in some short scenes (that sometimes were just kinda random) it didn't bother me but we all know that for an anime in 2D the transition is very odd. But I guess it kinda makes sense since it is sci-fi with robotic humanoids. So for me, the best
...
part was the art style.
Another interesting thing is the voice acting of Shishigami, even though he is a robot the contrast between the carefree childlike voice and his inhumane attitude was pretty good.
Regarding the story and characters, I am still left with many unanswered questions. Maybe I am just too curious, but why was Hiro in the park? The last part of the story was kinda rushed and the constant fight between Hiro being a nice caring person (with his mom and Shion) and a cold-blooded assassin was very confusing. But then he tells Shion that he kills people to feel alive. Is it because he doesn't feel bad for those people he murders and he wants to prove himself wrong? Nothing seems clear.
And I was a little disappointed when Inuyashiki and Shishigami battled, it wasn't as emotive as I would have liked to.
Overall I have to give this a 7/8 ish because I enjoyed watching it, and I was so intrigued about the ending and Hiro's real intentions.

I first read the manga and then watched the film. And that single trasition was amazing. I liked how the "opening" kind of explained Ishida´s past as a naughty boy in elementary school but it didn´t introduce enough about Nishimiya. The animation was stunning throughout the whole film. I think that the dreamy rainbowy colors around the characters was brilliant.
I know that this work can be controversial, because it talks about a disability, and I know too little about this kind of topic to give my opinion on that. But can we just appreciate the visibility of deaf people with this? Specially at
...
the end of the film when Ishida and Nishimiya became strong enough to face their fears. It´s funny how the root of your insecurites can become the most empowering thing for someone.
It makes no sense to ascertain why deaf people are represented as a target . In this case I felt so much hope for anyone going through something. Ishida became so self concious , an outcast. Too afraid to even look at people´s faces, he did talk to Nishimiya again because it made him feel stronger but he learned something from that.
In the manga, the characters were unsure about their lives after high school, this wasn´t showed in the film and the end was kind of empty (but maybe "full" idk??)
Overall it made me feel a whole range of emotions, one detail I really liked was Nishimiya´s weird face expressions, in the manga she does that because she doesn´t know how to react.

Okay is the word you are looking for when describing the story. Don't get me wrong I think is worth watching. The characters (Shion, Nezumi, the old guy..) had so much potential, but it was poorly developed in the anime. I really wanted to know more about Nezumi's life, because in comparison to Shion's, it seemed like a very deep character. Also the characters were kinda of poorly defined, sometimes they would say something and the next episode they would change their minds without explanation.
I think there is novel, I am pretty sure it has another ending with another storyline (?), so I would
...
give it try too.
The ending was kinda shocking and out of nowhere in my opinion, and also it present some little gaps in the story. I personally didn't like Safu right off the bat, HOWEVER it made it me kinda uncomfortable the fact that Nezumi killled her on purpose... didn't he know how much would Shion hate him?
I gave it a low 6 overall
