Both shows work with apparitions and unfolding the mystery behind them in order to defeat them. They both tackle a short arc format and have a very experimental art style, both in their own unique ways. Both shows are dialogue heavy with Mononoke getting a little more on the detective side of things. Mononoke doesn't bother breastfeeding you any clues meaning you have to give it your full attention.
