Romance, yes it is. Emma, clearly says, what is love? How to confess and show affection? I'm wandering, where to start and how to describe! Before moving to the core, I want to convey this, "Emma - Victorian Romance is not for those who love action or comedy. The story moves like a gentle breeze but it have enough stuff to bring to the edge of your seat while watching". Let me describe one by one.
First, the character designs are exceptionally well. Particularly, Emma, Eleanor, Vivi, William and Hakim and their expressions. Apart from that, the designers perfectly re-created the Victorian era.
Second, the narration and
...
dialogue are simply awesome. The dialogues like "He didn't ask simple yes-no questions like others, but just seems to enjoy talking" and "I'll be waiting. Even if it isn't today nor tomorrow, I don't mind that". The story tells about the man-made classification between people based on their possessions and what'll happen, if someone dares to cross. The story starts with the visit of William Jones to his Governess Mrs.Stowner residence where he met Emma, maid to his governess and gets attracted to her then the rest are follows. Finally, an incident occurred which separated Emma and William.
Finally, the most important thing, background score does well its part. Especially, the tracks, Emma, Menuet for Emma and the piano versions of Emma, Menuet for Emma, Silhouette of a Breeze are irresistible. Emma is one such anime that I recommend everyone must watch at-least once and feel the happiness and pain in love.

Gankutsuou - The Count of Monte Cristo is all about friendship, betrayal and revenge. The story of the anime series revolves around Edmond Duntes and Albert Morcerf. It starts with party in Luna where Count and Albert become friends. The rest tells, Whether the Count succeeded in his plans or Albert stopped the Count from doing so? Whether the Count lost himself to the Cave King Gankutsuou? Even though, first few episodes start with low note but the successive one really makes me crazy. Particularly, the episodes in which Count make them to remember the past which were buried deep in their hearts and repay
...
them. I first watched this series on 2005 but I cannot complete it. Now, I did it for 3 times.
Let’s come to the core, first, the characters and their design. The design patterns are different. This is the first anime in which I ever seen the range of textures used. I think, they experimented something & it turned out to be on positive note. I admired the characters of the Edmond Duntes, Albert Morcerf, Franz d’Epinay and Eugeine Danglars.
Secondly, the narration is completely awesome. Even though, we can able to predict successive happenings but the way they conveyed is astonishing. All the credits goes to the director Mr. Mahiro Maeda and his team. I watched 16 episodes consecutively from 9th till 23rd. I never viewed any anime series consecutively like this including my all time favorites except Emma – A Victorian Romance. The only missing piece is how Edmond Duntes escaped from the prison and what’s his source of income and how he secured it? May be they forgot it or discarded it intentionally, who knows?
Finally, the background score done by Mr. Kasamatsu Kouji and Jean-Jacques Burnel (opening & closing themes) are fits in their places. Gunkutsuou – The Count of Monte Cristo, sci-fci thriller series, is indeed a fine anime worth to watch and I believe that it will definitely entertain you for at least 10 hours.

An excellent story which clearly picturize the true human behaviour. Among the thounsands of spieces, humans are greedy in nature. They never allow anybody expect them to be on the top. They are even competeing with each other, How come, they allow other spieces to be on top? I wonder, How I missed a series like this for long time!
Lets come to the subject. First, the character design and animation done well. I always rate anime (Japanese animation) 70% more than other animation. Especially, Miss Lucy and her other personality Nyu, Miss Nana. The Characters such Kohta, Yuka too amazing. Everything fits well in their
...
respective places expect nudity. They must have done something about the nudity.
Secondly, the background score, totally awesome. The composers Kumiko Noma, Kayo Konishi and Yukio Kondo did done well. Particularly, the opening Lilium version, Lilium saint version and Rasen tracks. I cannot resist, so downloaded the OST. The ending theme "I wanna be your girl" done by Chieko Kawabe also good to listen.
I think that the director achieved what he wanted to convey. The Elfen Lied series says that what'll happen, if someone keep on harassed, discriminated and suppressed for quite sometime because of their appearance and the strength they posses. Everyone longs for care and affection, if it's denied, the consequences will be hard to digest. Indeed, Elfen Lied, a must watch anime series packed with nice lessons.
