This anime is one of the best romances I have seen in a long time mainly because all factors such as the art and concept worked together well to produce something that made me laugh, cry and enjoy what I was watching.
I don't usually watch music based animes but this was perfection......
ok so I shall begin:
Story=9
I was not expecting the ending, and the 'lie in april' wasn't what I expected either. The good features about the plot is that:
-it is consistent
-always provides a reason for why characters act in a certain manner
-it is unique in a musical sense
-shows the development of characters well

wasn't a 10 because there was that stereotypical love triangle which I didn't mind in the end but it was too typical for a romance genre.
Art=10
OH MY LORD the art in this is what you would expect to see on canvas' in state museums and that is not even an exaggeration! They have done such a stunning job with the art! It took me back to chihayafuru tbh and i honestly found the art to be one of the best arts i have ever witnessed when watching anime! Great job! From the diverse array of colours to the fine lines as he plays piano the art was fantastic and there is no denying that
Sound=10
I am listening to the OST as we speak! It is gold, it is so refreshing and replenishing I truly love it and I am so happy that I have found it. If you wanna listen to the OST here is a link to it! The reason that its not a 10 is because there was one character that was a bit too typical but all characters had some kind of progression which was really all i was looking for.... also the anime shows success as a progression as opposed to something instantaneous which is great when it comes to interpreting a character and understanding the character
Enjoyment=10
had the right balance of:
-tears
-laughter
-'aww' moments
-'OMG' moments
and i think that pretty much sums up the characteristics of this anime
SO IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR A STUNNING PIECE OF ART WITH AN AMAZING STORY, ROMANCE, MUSIC AND SCHOOL FEEL YOU'RE IN FOR A TREAT MY FRIEND!
