~~~ BASED OFF READING 65 CHAPTERS~~~
Mairu isn't cute in any shape or form, but all this changed when she meets Tenyuu.
Story& Character:
The story is good, after reading hundreds of shoujo manga the beginning of the manga isn't anything special, however as the story progresses you see different sides of each character. There is another thing about this manga I really enjoy, there is a distinct element of surprise. Generally in shoujo manga it is pretty obvious who the girl will end up with, yet every time this manga leaves you wondering, because of the progression of relationships, and the struggles the main character
...
faces. Another good point is that the whole story is focused solely on the aspect of romance. There isn't alot of stupid comedic effect, and lots of filler not progressing the story, but instead iin Mairunovich even the slightest things end up coming back in later chapters without the reader knowing it
Enjoyment :
The personality the characters had were truly enjoyable. I am tired of seeing the "bad" guys getting the girl. There are a variety of personalities in the love prospects presented including a guy who is very nice, tsundere etc.
Art: I like the art alot, it isn't anything spectacular but it is by no means bad
"Its a promise.. 365 days before the blink of my eyes, ill keep staring at you"
The premise is fairly common, with the presence of manga's such as koizora, the theme of tragedy seems to reel in to both genders appealing to the readers sympathy.
The story starts off with a girl named Nino who is a shy girl who has a funky parrot who she likes talking too, and of course the main protagonist who is told he will die in less than a year.
The characters are fairly normal for a shoujo manga, there is nothing special about them. Apart from the fact
...
that there is tragedy involved theres nothing too special about this manga. It is definitely worth a read though as it is not horrible at all, but could be done better.
" I dont love you in the little brother sort of way"
The story is fairly simple and its nothing we haven't seen before from shoujo manga, it seems the working part time and meeting handsome guys is quite typical in manga these days. The main girl Anzu is working part time at a beach house when she reunites with her childhood friend Rei, however things take a turn when Rei confesses his feelings to her despite him being a middle school student two years younger than her. Of course there our shoujo manga rivals, the good old Baba, Kazuya, and all our other cool side
...
characters.
There are several factors that make this manga quite unsuccessful in what it attempts to portray. In manga like this there are several routes the mangaka can take, more specifically something the more Strobe Edge route, or the kimi ni todoke route. The dramatic vs lighthearted route. The mangaka tries to stay in the middle which isnt necessarily a bad thing but overwhelmed the reader with a shitty setting and plot mood.
In essence this manga isnt by any means great and if you havent read tons of manga in this genre just find a better one, but it is something you can past your time with if you find yourself running out of romance manga to read, nothing is too special about it, but it definitely isn't utter shit.
" Im you ten years in the future dont let him.... dont let him die, I dont want you to regret it..."
On a normal school day Takamiya Naho receives a letter saying that a new student Kakeru whom she doesent know is transferring into the school, at first she brushes this remarkable "coincidence" off, but she slowly starts to realize it is truly true. She starts getting close to Kakeru then her 10 years from the future says Kakeru will die and only she can prevent it, hearing this and slowly falling in love with him is so sad for her but she steps
...
up to the plate and tries to change fate.
The brilliant part of this story is its characters it outshines 95% of shojos in this aspect. All the characters are charismatic and energetic happy people. There arent any guys after Naho willing to harm Kakeru, instead Suwa a boy who has liked Naho for a long time and has protected her alot likes her but he is Kakerus friend. The story occasionally has flashbacks and shows Naho in the future with Suwa as husband and wife. The AMAZING thing about Suwa is he truly cares about Naho's happiness he realizes that when shes around Kakeru she smiles alot and so for this he supports both of them even though he has feelings. Hes one of the best characters ive seen around.
The art is done very well it doesent consist of too many cheesy shojo moments and some touching ones are done with careful detail and you can truly appreciate the mood and setting for each scenario.
All in all this is a brilliant romance, except Naho better choose Suwa in the end! What kind of guy, gives up the girl he loves because shes happy! Hes one of a kind :)
When one sees the shojo label on this they may be scared, but the truth is, its quite the opposite. Although it can be considered shojo, it is completely different and unique and presented in a refreshing way that anyone a fan of shonen or even seinens can appreciate.
The tale is relatively unique, however not completely new. The main protagonist is a male by the name of Inami Harusumi, who has the mind of a princess named Veronica, from hundreds of years ago. After an incident at school and happily getting with the girl he liked an incident occured and several of his classmates ended
...
up getting the memories of other important people to the princess. This manga, in my opinion can be quite confusing so its important to read it slowly I usually read manga extremely fast but this one I found myself having to read over specific parts.
The romance aside from the historical point of view is another major aspect of the manga, it isnt cliche or isnt presented in a typical shojo manner at all. It isnt super fluffy or vanilla, but you still find yourself smiling after you see something heartwarming and wonder is it possible our male protagonist will choose this girl despite his crush.
All in all this is a rather more mature shojo and requires you to read carefully at times to pick out details, especially since personalities change alot from to past to present. Anyone looking for romance and something with a relatively cool concept should check this out.
Although simply six chapters so far, this monthly manga shows serious promise.
The mangaka Takemiya, Yuyuko famous for adapting the light novel toradora into a very nice manga differentiating itself from the anime does a good job once again of establish differences between characters and how these opposites can attract.
The story is relatively simple but yet the art and the way it is presented although with not too much detail yet due to the length is quite enjoyable. Yoshimatsu Hotaka is a boy with a rather dark past, he isnt open to many people at all and he always looks at this one girls he
...
admires who is a very good swimmer, after some cliche encounters which everyone can expect in any rom com they know each other, but because of his past he sets there meeting off on the wrong note because he is afraid.
This manga is promising and anyone interested in rom coms should follow this. There arent too many details known yet due to the only 6 chapters out scanlated so far but has great potential as a rom com. Good read to pass some time and enjoy.
The thought of having a girl fall for you by simply having them see a mark on your body seems great. In fact who wouldnt want there sexual desires satisfied. Well the only thing our poor male protagonist Rin wants is the love and affection of Chizuru someone several years older then him and a girl who has been with him for nearly his whole life.
That being said the plot is rather unique, while the way it approaches this rather new approach is great and highly entertaining. We see Rin being heartbroken because of reality, the age difference, and because of the fact Chizuru simply
...
does not want to make him unhappy or make him suffer even though she too is deeply in love with him but cant show him because she knows it wont work out between them. Throughout the series you will find happiness, sadness, and some good laughs. Note there is some ecchi scenes and some sex so bear this in mind.
All in all I really enjoyed this manga, and recommend it for any romance fan looking for a rather unique read compared to the rest.
9/10!
With the amount of survival manga out there such as Cage of Eden, this genre of manga has it tough to set itself apart from others especially with respect to the originality of the concept. That being said Life is Money does not have the most original idea, however the development within the idea surpasses many other survival manga and thrillers.
We all have something we want to save, in the case of Meguru its his dying sister, with his mother dying trying to obtain enough money to save her daughter, a myriad cost of one hundred million yen is needed. Meguru being scammed countless times,
...
and working hard for a majority of his life even leaving school tries to obtain such money but simply cant. While being depressed at a bar a man shows up and offers a chance to be able to receive the money, with one catch, and that was his life itself was at grave danger. Reluctantly he accepts after seeing his sister become sick once again and hearing she doesn't have time. A survival game starts between ten people, only 5 can survive.
All ten characters are developed relatively well, however to the point of the current fourteen translated chapters about half of the characters still require some development and back story. Many of the characters follow the typical variety of personalities, with one being intelligent and amazing with words, others outgoing and more. The game itself is not with violence, in fact there are many accommodations such as a hotel room, library and much more. The beautiful thing about Life is Money is that it is a purely physiological driven manga, and the killing occurs by people being driven to insanity, and dying when a specific heart rate is achieved.
The art is done extremely well, in scenarios in which one shows true despair, the mangaka does a very nice job in conveying the conflicting emotions of the person.
All in all anyone who enjoys thrillers or just a break from typical stuff should love this, after reading many romances this was quite the refreshing twist.
If you saw someone who was completely different than all other "humans", would you think they were the weird one, or is everyone else the weird ones?
The conflicting though process of trying to figure out what is a "human", Shirasaki is just an average boy with some average friends when a weird girl Kamimura Yuuka pops up in his life. The summary is quite misleading although the boy does not really have any affections for her in the beginning it starts to grow but as far as the english scanlations are concerned he is definitely not in "love" with her yet. Nevertheless there is a
...
refreshing light romance in this manga with a weird physiological twist.
All in all the art is very nice, and portrays the mood nicely, and the personalities are very well though out.
Anyone who is interested for a cool sci-fi or fantasy read with a touch of romance will probably like this and the story keeps on getting better
The thought of dreaming something and reality oftentimes conflict, more so even when we hear things we dont like in reality and escape in our own dream world.
Please note there is a bit of sex in this manga but I feel its pretty necessary at times.
The story is about a boy named Uchida who miraculously creates a device that can create an ideal dream for you. Sounds good right? Well its pretty awesome isnt it, after his friend is rejected Uchida gives him the comfort of his machine, slowly and slowly more people start using it. Its clear that he has feelings for his childhood
...
friend, and even his childhood friend was shocked to see that in her dream she had sex with Uchida. However things seemed not to go so smoothly later as reality starts to conflict with the dreams, and many are faced to ask themselves, is this reality or a dream?
The characters are all really cool and mysterious, with 11 chapters out so far once this has lots more this will be an amazing series
The art is really good IMO, the male looks pretty lame but his personality is very cool
All in all I loved this sooo much. I reccomend this to anyone who likes deep things with a little bit of romance, its a really cool thriller
