Story 10: In short the story is about the protagonist coming to terms with what they have done and what they can do to leave a better impact on the world. Its a story about self acceptance, gaining emotional intelligence, moving forward in life, and a general love of literature as some things are easier to convey through the written word.

Art 10: The art in the show is movie quality throughout and the composition in many of the shots are very beautiful to look at conveying the depth of beauty to be found in the world. Not a single frame in this show is lacking, ... sakuga is non existent in this series as there's nowhere to go up from where they set the baseline.

Sound 10: The soundtrack is by Evan Call and is one of my favorites of all time using a great balance of wind and string instruments to convey hope, serenity, tension, and melancholy. It is some of my most replayed music from any OST. Along with this the voice acting in the show is phenomenal especially when it comes to violet herself at times very subtle as the character is finding themselves and when the more emotional moments do arrive Yui Ishikawa makes you feel everything Violet is going through and its heartbreaking.

Character 10: All the characters in this show are great the supporting cast beside Violet are very endearing and passionate about what they do you cant help but respect their dedication regardless of how big or small the task at hand. Even the supporting cast throughout the show that may only appear in one or two episodes are strong and very memorable. I cant get into too much about them as that can easily spill into spoilers as they all play a part in helping Violet grow as a person as she helps them, and their struggles are relatable and all of their stories are worth telling with none of it feeling out of place or unnecessary.

Enjoyment 10: If you enjoy seeing a person develop and grow as a person in a believable way and don't dislike having an occasional ugly cry than yes it is very enjoyable.

Overall 10: One of my favorite shows of all time that stands the test of time, for me alot of shows i have rated very highly have dropped over the years due to discovering other shows that do things better or having a more critical mindset and overcoming the recency bias however this show has not faltered in that sense it started in my top 5 and there it remains years down the line.

This was a huge letdown coming of other Shoujo Ai series such as "Bloom Into You" or "Girlfriends" manga

Story 1: The story was very weird when it came to the main characters and how things happened between them it felt more like it was for the sake of producing fanservice and not actually establishing a relationship between characters and the last episodes... wtf it is so full of cringy and baffling tropes i had to pause multiple times due to overwhelming feelings of cringe radiating throughout my body.

Art 4: Some of the character designs were ok at best with nothing particularly standing out to me.

Sound ... 5: Nothing of note the soundtrack is forgettable and not in a good way where it blends into the background and enhances things its just there i guess.

Character 1: One of the main characters is kinda okay and other than that the entire cast is terrible. None of them feel like they have any reasoning behind what they do other than to just make things happen for the sake of it like a shitty sitcom. The sisters introduced later in the story are just wow... Without spoiling anything would you have known a person for literally a day or 2 and treat them like your most trusted confidant asking them for their blessing or things of that nature? The characters and there decisions are so cringy i wish there was a lower rating to give the characters.

Enjoyment 2: No enjoyment to be had here other than the occasional chuckle of disbelief of what is transpiring on screen.

Overall 2: If you're here for fan service go for it, but there are better shows for it. If you're here for a realistic romance or at least likeable characters go literally anywhere else, there is no substance to be found here.

Overall 1: Parts weren't animated, the sound hurt to listen to, the art even in key frames didn't even look good, the story was non nonsensical and even though the characters were forgetful you still tried your best to forget them sooner. I wouldn't even recommend this as a hate watch, even if you like watching bad stuff intentionally its not even so bad its good its just bad in every conceivable metric.

This is the kind of OVA you need to watch with friends to get the full experience. I got about a third of the way though when i decided i needed to stop watching and have a watch party with some buds.

Story 1: Squid things and, random flashbacks at very questionable moments???

Art 2: I only rate it so highly because i have seen much worse at the bottom of the MAL charts

Sound 2: The sounds cuts in and out with terrible background noise throughout that its kinda charming in how jarring it is.

Character 1: This acid trip goes by too quickly to establish a single ... character or any traits they may have had.

Enjoyment 10: Its The Room/Birdemic of anime its so bad its enjoyable. Scenes are over moments after they begin and some have little to no context (chair scene/training?/softcore?) It is by all metrics hard to watch but I never laughed so hard at an anime before and i mean its only 1 episode so its not even a time commitment to get some "quality" entertainment.

Overall 5: Good for a quick laugh, and will make you a better artist by seeing what not to do.

It is a great series that even though its a yuri its more focused on self acceptance than just pure romance.

Story 10/10: I loved the story of this series as it focuses on aspects of love other than just pure physical attraction and focused more on who the person is. The way they develop together and make each other better and improve each others lives feels very genuine.

Art 9/10: At first i was not the biggest fan of the art style however it quickly grew on me, subjectively i would say its lower that what i am giving it but the art works so well ... for a story so focused on the characters and their interactions that i feel like overly done artwork for backgrounds can take away from the intimate feel and i love how simplistic alot of the panels are however when there is a need to use backgrounds the art is very good. This series made me buy my first art book and I am aware its a bias but i just love the art for the emotions it conveys within the characters or its willingness to be more minimal as in this case less is more.

Characters 10/10: I loved all the characters in this series and the main characters avoided alot of tropes and were really grounded. Yeah as with any romance series there are easy to avoid misunderstandings but that's what romance is like as no two people in the world are 100% compatible but they learn to work around that for the sake of each other, the way they bring out the best in each other is very heart warming. As for the side characters at worst there are some that are just there but they never hinder the overall story but some of them are really well fleshed out and genuine. Seiji for example acts as basically a concrete example of what Yuu thinks she is and shows that she differs from him in very important ways shown in some of the first panels of the series, he is a very kind character who is also very relatable to the reader as he is kind of a wall flower observing others and doesn't show any jealousy for the happiness he views in others that how knows he cant have, due to his preferences or lack thereof. Sayaka is another great side character who also has a spin off series and is very mature and doesn't conflict with the cast as one might initially expect given these kind of situations. For me I value characters and their interaction/chemistry in series the most important thing which is why this is my favorite series.

Enjoyment 10/10: It is a story with good pacing that as they take time to develop romantically but its not overly drawn out and it very enjoyable as it feels like none of your time is wasted learning about the characters and seeing how they grow.

Overall 10/10: It is one of my favorite series and got me to read alot more Yuri manga however this one stands far and above the rest. Alot of others i have read or watched focus a lot more on the physical relationship for fan service purposes which is fine i like that when its done well but something about this series feels alot more genuine as you feel the love between the characters not just shown it.

It is a very mediocre series that i think is mainly ruined by the hype people have been feeding into it these past few years.

Story 4/10: Its a very generic story that has been done before with very slight variations on what has been done a million times with a very predictable twist in regards to the antagonist.

Art 7/10: The art was very good in terms of composition and detail however what keeps this from being any higher is that as a series focused on battles the fights are very lackluster as the power system is so basic especially in regards to the main character ... who just slashes things till they stop moving, its just not engaging in the slightest when compared to for example hunter x hunter, FMA, Naruto, etc. where the fights are more fluid and tactics exist outside punching harder.

Characters 3/10: The characters are i think the weakest part of the series as a whole, the main character is praised by many by being different but hes probably the weakest character outside of the boring self insert characters in generic battle shounen. His motivation of interacting with women is so one note and played for laughs so many times its boring, its obvious when they try to pretend to subvert expectations by making it seem like he is being altruistic but end up being for his one and only goal it is so predictable it just lacks all comedic value as they were obviously going for that gag over and over. Also there are characters in the series that are killed off with so little development, people praise it for being subversive however with little to no development with some sudden deaths how can i care for these copy paste characters who seem to be tailor made so hard to be subversive of tropes they go full circle and end up oddly generic.

Enjoyment 4/10: The only reason i kept reading was all the hype and i figured i was missing something or haven't reached the good part yet till i reached the very end and i never got the slightest view of anything anyone was praising. I can see the anime improving at the very least the issue with the fights as Mappa can make some really good fight scenes with fluid animations but overall i felt like my time reading this manga was wasted and should have read anything else.

Overall 5/10: It wasn't bad overall but it was so boring i would have preferred reading a straight out bad manga over this or one that was actually good. It is so forgettable im mainly writing this as my first review as a way to organize my thoughts as otherwise i might just forget this series exists otherwise and keep this as a cautionary tale to ignore over hyping in the future.
