This is my second review on MAL.. (:

SKET Dance isn't the type of anime I usually watch, however, I have come to actually enjoy this series so far. This review is based upon the first 13 episodes. I have not read the manga, so this is entirely on the anime.

STORY 8/10
The story is pretty basic - a group of friends who take on tasks to help others. Each substory is what makes up the larger story, I suppose. Each episode provides laughs and entertainment, and the story flows, so it's isn't too random. I give this 8/10 because there isn't ... too much depth in the stories. Then again, SKET Dance isn't an anime that promises much depth (so far) - though that's not necessarily a bad thing. When I watch a new episode of SKET Dance, I see it as a breather from all my other anime, I just watch it to laugh a bit to myself and relax.

ART 7/10
The art is good for the anime's intentions of entertaining viewers. There isn't too much to say about it - it's not particularly special nor is it beyond viewable.

SOUND 8/10
No complaints, really. The OP/ED are all "meh". There's nothing too special about them, like the art, but it's not bad either.

CHARACTER 9/10
I guess this is what keeps me watching this series. The characters are very enjoyable. Bossun, Hime, and Switch (especially!) make the anime laughable and their lines keep the anime light-hearted.

ENJOYMENT 9/10
It's not the most hilarious anime I've seen, but it is fun to watch. I would recommend this anime to people as kind of a... "just for fun" anime. Whenever you're waiting for another anime to air its new episode or when you need a break, this is the anime I'd recommend you go for.

I first watched Lovely Complex last summer.  I just rewatched it a third time last month.  Lovely Complex will always be my favorite anime.  It will always be the first one I recommend to people.  LovCom is a story that, at first, made me turn away.  Tall girl with short guy?  There was just no way that could be appealing.  Thank goodness for long, eventless, summer days - the only reason why I picked up this anime I had put aside for so long.  I went from uninterested to finishing the anime, reading the manga, and watching the live ... action, in a week.  This is really a one of a kind anime.

STORY
The story, as stated above, turned me away at first.  But once I got into it, I realized how sweet it really was.  Being a taller girl myself, it's easy to relate to Risa.  The only animes I recommend to people are ones that can make me both laugh like crazy at my screen as well as cry like a baby in bed.  Lovely Complex is one of the few.  The comedy is hilarious, well though out and placed perfectly throughout the story.  When more serious scenes come around, you can't help but feel your eyes start to water.  The story ions that stands out amongst other romantic-comedy anime,  fulfilling both the romance and (especially) the comedy.

ART
The art was another factor that made me unwilling to watch Lovely Complex at first.  Pastels and the art style in general were just not at the top of my list.  However, this again was just my poor judgement.  After the first episode, the art had already grown on me.  The facial expressions are especially priceless.

SOUND
Not much to say.  No complaints.  I really enjoyed hearing the Kansai dialect.

CHARACTER
All the characters are so ...lovable.  They're all unique in the ways, but together they make a great cast.  Risa, her two supporting friends, and Otani and his two supports.  My only complaint in this deparment is Risa's crying.  At some points, it's perfect, it makes the audience want to cry with her.  But then at other points... its just out of place.  Nonetheless, the character development really flows.

OVERALL
I will recommend this anime to anyone and everyone who asks for recommendations.  It's the only anime I have rewatched over two times, and one I'm planning on rewatching again.. and again.  If you are turned away by the story like I was, all I have to say is... give it a chance.  Even if it's because you have absolutely nothing else to watch and you're dying of boredom under the summer heat, watch it! :)
