Golden Boy was an anime I personally enjoyed immensely. It featured an interesting story, and, since the whole story changed each episode, I was always ready to see what new adventures the protagonist would go on next. While the story was interesting, it relied quite heavily on how perverted the main character was to keep it going. Nevertheless, I personally enjoyed the skipping story. As an example, think Pokemon--lots one-episode arcs.
The anime is rather old, so the art and the sound weren't exactly the best I'd ever seen or heard, but the art really
...
went well with the anime, as it was a perfect match to the main character's outrageous facial expressions. The art and facial expressions are very similar to Great Teacher Onizuka. I wish I could say more about the soundtrack but I always skipped the opening theme song and if there was background music, I don't remember it, so it must have just been average.
The characters in the anime are mostly women, except for the main character. I enjoyed seeing his reactions to all of them and was always laughing at his fortune and misfortune. The main character, despite his flaws, is extremely likeable, and the same can almost be said for most of the other characters. Most are cliche, but it adds to the anime in a way cliche characters can't add to the plot in any other setting.
All in all, I enjoyed Golden Boy more than most anime I've seen. I really liked watching it, and re-watching it, but it definitely has some flaws that need to be recognised, which is why I only rate this anime as being "good." I would recommend this anime to anyone who enjoyed Great Teacher Onizuka, High School DxD, or other similar anime. I would not recommend it to hardcore feminists, people who hate a perverted sense of humour, people who don't even like the mention of harem, or people who dislike nudity or heavy sexual themes throughout the anime. The anime is short and should only take two hours to finish, so I'd recommend this to most people as being a light-hearted but perverted anime.

91 Days was a strange anime to me. I watched it, thinking I was in for a Baccano!-like experience (same time period, mafia), but it was not at all what I expected. At all. The story is definitely its best point, for, even if it begins a little cliche, it explodes out of control. However, it is a plot that develops EXTREMELY slowly. In the beginning, it starts out strong, but the middle part of the anime is a little boring and dull. It even makes you wonder why you're even watching that part of the anime. It's forgettable and
...
altogether pretty boring, but it's all worth it in the end. When the story gets interesting, though, it gets INTERESTING. The plot develops very well, especially near the end, and does a wonderful job of surprising the viewer. Altogether, I'd say the plot is amazing and is great at leaving you on the edge of your seat at the climax of the plotline.
The art and soundtrack were both very average. The animation was alright, but certainly isn't the best, and looks a lot like every other serious anime that has released recently. It doesn't have any special textures or quirks, like Death Parade, for example; if I had to compare it to another anime's style, it would be Gangsta. The reason why I rated the soundtrack as just being "good" is because for most of the anime, I had it on mute, but when I did hear the soundtrack, it was quite average, just like the art. I would say that it does, however, fit the anime well.
Like the plot, the characters could be considered a strong point. They were fairly interesting, all of them, and there were some that were very likeable and some that weren't. The author/director made it VERY clear which characters were meant to be liked and which weren't, as the villains are just that--villains. Many have no redeeming qualities, and are very cliche. This may sound like I hated the characters, but honestly, I found the main two characters interesting and to stand out against the background of boring, one-dimensional characters.
All in all, I found this anime fairly interesting, but it took me five months to finish because I had no motivation to actually watch it. But when I did get to the end of the anime, the story accelerated, and I found it to be very intriguing and great at always keeping me on the edge of my seat. I would recommend this anime to people who enjoyed Spice and Wolf (both are very slow with lots of character development), Gangsta. (mafia/gangs), and Baccano! (mafia/gangs, similar characters). I would not recommend this anime to anyone who dislikes blood/gore, don't like EXTREMELY slow stories with lots of reading in between the lines, or stories that make little sense throughout some episodes. In the end, I would recommend it to some people but definitely not all, and 91 Days was an all-around average anime.

Yes, I rated this anime I 10/10, would watch again. And even though it may have had something to do with my personal enjoyment of it, I found this anime to be one of the best I have ever seen. Sure, it isn't my favourite, and I might not watch it ten times over, but I really, really loved it.
Beginning with the story, this anime has a... strange story, to say the least. It doesn't really seem like it has a plot, to be honest, as it just kind of jumps to the main
...
storyline occasionally, but you only really see any part of the plot in later episodes. But I will say that, unlike most anime with only one season, this anime really makes ends meet once you reach the end. Everything that happened previously makes sense, and even though it seems like the plotline would benefit from a second season (kind of a cliffhanger ending), I would never ask for a second season to be made. I personally think that the ending is perfect and a little unexpected, in my opinion. I certainly didn't think that it would end the way it did in the first few episodes. The story jumps from point of view to point of view, but it definitely benefits the deepness and realistic concepts of all the characters. All in all, the story was great, and the cast worked well with one another in order to create a very intriguing anime in the end.
Alright, a 10 on art and sound, because both were amazing and suited the anime well. The art style was perfect for the darkness of the story, as it was fairly realistic, and it paid attention to little eye-catching details. It was a little rough at times, but in the end, it was satisfying to watch. The sound was so vastly different from the anime's level of darkness that it was all the more enjoyable--BRADIO's Flyers made a lovely theme song for the anime that basically seemed to mock the darkness of the anime with an upbeat and catchy opening theme song.
Just like the story, the characters were well-made and fairly realistic. Their stories were believable and it was enjoyable to see how they interacted with one another. Almost all the characters were unique but still familiar enough to where the viewer could predict how they dealt with certain situations, but they always seemed to have little quirks about them that did something that the viewer does not expect. The main two characters were especially interesting, and I loved watching how their relationship developed throughout the anime. It wasn't until the end that I believed that I really knew the characters, which is best, in my opinion, as the characters were developed all the way through the anime up until the end, where it was just, "BAM, development complete." Most of the characters were likeable, but you might have to read between the lines to figure out a few. The characters didn't seem too cliche, though I have seen similar, but were interesting nonetheless.
All in all, I really enjoyed this anime, and if you haven't seen it, I recommend you watch it, especially if you have watched anime like Tokyo Ghoul (not very similar, but the art, characters, and darkness levels are similar), Danganronpa (light-hearted but packed full of darkness), or something like Another (constantly second-guessing yourself, both pretty dark). Don't watch this anime if you dislike gore, tear-jerkers, always being on the edge of your seat, extreme darkness levels, or suggestive themes, such as depression.

Before you read this, know that I have not seen the second season yet, so this review is only on the first season. That means that I haven't seen the whole story, nor the backstories of all the characters. This review is on the first season ONLY.
Beginning with the story, Bungou Stray Dogs has a fair plot, but it can seem a little random at times. In some parts, the story comes together well and is interesting to the viewer, but in some parts of the anime, it can be a little confusing and have
...
no relevance to the main plot. Near the end of the anime, most of it does come together, but what makes the story confusing is the characters, which I'll cover in the character section. If you're planning on watching just the first season, then be warned that it ends on a cliffhanger and that you need to watch the second season to reach the end of the story.
The art is amazing and fits the anime well, I believe, and the sound is also quite good and seems to complement the art and concept of the anime. There are times when the art is better or worse, but it looks especially cool when supernatural scenes come up. In my opinion, the soundtrack is similar to similar anime, such as Gangsta.
The most confusing part of the story is the characters. I personally liked most of the characters (there were some that I hated with a passion, however), as they are all unique in their own way. The main characters can be a little cliche, however, so if you're not into characters that seem like they've been copy-pasted from Black Butler or Naruto, then don't watch this anime. You'll notice a lot of similarities to other anime characters, and popular ones, at that. It's not just appearance--their manner is the same, too, so really, be warned. It's also worth mentioning that the characters share names with famous authors, but most do not seem to have much connection to their respective author. Alright, now onto the reason why the characters make the story confusing: there is little reason for the characters doing anything. Most characters don't have backstories, and whenever they do something, it makes you wonder, "why would they do that?" I would be spoiling the anime if I gave an example, but the cast is hypocritical and they make hardly any sense and many points in the anime. Overall, some characters are interesting and likeable, but most are bland and don't seem to really play a role in the storyline. It's like Mekakucity Actors, where the cast was way too big for the first season.
Even though I've complained a lot in this review, I found the first season of Bungou Stray Dogs to be very enjoyable, and I basically watched it in a day or two, which is quick for someone who had finals to study for. ^-^" I would recommend this anime to anyone who enjoyed Tokyo Ghoul (similar supernatural concept, not as much gore), Mekakucity Actors (big supernatural cast), and perhaps Gangsta. or Baccano!, because Bungou Stray Dogs does have to do with the criminal underground to some extent. Don't watch if cliche anime are not your thing, if you greatly dislike gore, or you really don't like really overpowered, bland characters who seem to blitz through every challenge presented to them.

So this anime is rated average on MAL, but I disagree. It is above average in my opinion, and I enjoyed so much that I finished it in two days (normally I drop anime around episode 6). Be warned that this review is HEAVILY opinionated, as I really enjoy things that have to do with gangs, the mafia, drugs, criminal underworld, etc.
Regarding the storyline, it does not a little bit up brushing-up. It is intriguing and hooks the viewer--especially the backstories--but it is told in a slightly confusing manner. This may also be because
...
the anime is not and will never be completed, but the major conflicts never get resolved. The climax of the plot is near the end, and there is no possible way that this anime could resolve EVERY conflict in one episode, and they still included the OP and ED, meaning that it is the same length as every other episode. So, if you want an anime that comes together nicely, keep looking. It's a lot like Baccano! in that it has no real ending and the story flies from character to character, past to present, etc.
The art and animation is perfect and fits the anime very well. It isn't childish and is done in a mildly American comic-like fashion, and looks far more realistic than most anime. Compare it to the style of Death Parade or Baccano!.
The only reason I watched this anime is because I was hooked on the opening theme, Renegade. The soundtrack can be dark or intense, depending upon the nature of the scene, and it fits the anime very well. I hardly ever skipped the OP, and I am pleased to say that this anime has one of the best soundtracks I have personally heard, but my taste in music is not very conventional. Compare the music to Jormungand for reference.
Gangsta.'s characters are interesting and come from unique backgrounds, even though the viewer only gets the backstories of the three main characters. It is interesting to look into each character, and most characters are very likeable. There are a few that I love to hate, but the vast majority make sense in the story and are likeable after a while. However, many characters don't receive full backstories and many are not very deep, even though they are an integral part to the story. Some are just copy-and-paste from anime like 91 Days and Baccano!, so be warned. The lack of proper deepness and backstories is likely due to the fact that this anime won't be completed.
I enjoyed this anime SO much. I wish that there were a second season to tie up the loose ends. The reason I enjoyed it is likely because the themes of crime are similar to those in my story, and also because I so enjoyed Baccano!. The story propels along nicely, the art and sound fit the nature of the anime, and the characters are likeable and interesting.
The verdict? I think this anime is a great pick for anyone who enjoyed Baccano!, likes the themes of the dark criminal underground, and for anyone who doesn't mind if an anime has little to no humour but loads of violence and an intriguing storyline. Don't watch this if you're not into gore, sexual themes, a lack of a fixed ending, gangs, or any anime similar to Jormungand, Baccano!, and 91 Days. In the end, I think that this was the most enjoyable anime I've seen since Pumpkin Scissors, and that's saying something. Give it a watch if you haven't already, and enjoy the madness unravel to a never-ending mess.

This anime is a masterpiece. I have no idea why it isn't more popular than it is. Highly realistic, it makes one think of their current standing in their own mind, and this anime helps raise self-esteem. Completely original, this anime delivers a fresh, positive message about the female body, as well as a reminder that not all men are total perverts. I especially love the world design; it reminds me of a magical land where anything you can dream is possible. All the characters are highly developed and interesting, and a great plot is to be expected from such
...
a beautiful anime. The artwork is amazing, the soundtrack even better, and the entire anime is just something I would recommend to anyone out there looking for something short and sweet but leaves a lasting thought in your mind.
To be honest, this anime is actually pretty bad, everything is perverted, and all the girls have boobs the size of a Jell-o Mt. Everest. Everything is sexual, and it's kind of boring. Also, if your parents are going to be nearby when you are engrossed in this masterpiece painted by the likes of dung beetles, then you should probably steer clear, lest you get some... judgemental looks, to say the least. Also, if you are watching this on a Surface, be careful--if you close it, it will continue playing for a little while, and that will not work out in your favour--the "oohs" and "aahs" can be a little disconcerting for most parents.
If you're wondering why I rated the "Enjoyment" as a (10), then I'll tell you that it's because I had so much fun laughing at how terrible it was that I gave myself a stomachache. And yes, I have seen it twice--once because I heard it was horribly perverted and I was a curious child, and twice due to my friend nagging me to watch it with her (she didn't want to be caught at her house). This anime is basically your run-of-the-mill harem gone wrong.
Still want to watch this? Prepare Pumpkin Scissors in the next tab over and get ready to switch tabs. Like, immediately.
WARNING: Don't watch this at school if security can see your search history. Just... don't do it. You don't want to get interrogated by your principal, do you? Seriously, though, don't attempt to watch this at school. You don't want to have to learn this stuff the hard way.

Just like some of my other reviews, the overall rating is quite personal and it's because this is my all-time favourite anime. It's the best, most entertaining anime I've ever seen, and I really enjoyed it. The story itself is not perfect, and even though there's no hope for a second season, I wish there were. I will probably end up reading the manga to find out what's with all the holes in the storyline, but nonetheless, it's enjoyable and really interesting, pulling you along bit by bit. But, you should be able to piece some things together yourself if
...
you plan to watch it. The art is great, but it does look a little underwhelming at times, especially when the characters are farther from the camera. The sound is amazing, and I would love to listen to all of the music from this anime--it's all that great. The characters are all likable to some extent, and the main characters really connect with the viewer and stand out from other anime characters in their own respects. They're anime characters, no doubt about it, but there's just something there that isn't with some other anime. Overall, I enjoyed this anime so much and I really wish there were a second season. Every single episode passed so quickly, and I disliked skipping the intro, but I did it just so I could see what would happen next. It's surprising, intriguing, and lovable, and that's why I think it's the best anime I've ever seen.

Alright, I rated this anime almost as high as it is possible just because it is that good. I really enjoyed this anime, even if I only picked it up to pass the time and because I heard it had a nice ant-hero (it does), and I ended up really loving it. In fact, it's probably one of my favourites. The story is interesting, intriguing, and pulls you right in. I will admit, it does skip between "chapters" quite often, going from one story to the other within a single episode. It can be confusing at times, and it mixes
...
in unrealistic occurrances with real ones to pull in the viewer. The artwork is wonderful and very tasteful, considering the sound, characters, and story, and really sets the mood for anyone watching. The sound is equally great, and gives you the feel of the anime's main time period. It's almost all instrumental, and it's all the kind of material you'd listen to over and over again. Kind of reminds me of Cowboy Bebop in a way. The characters are all likable, both good and bad. I swear they all need professional help, but they're all very enjoyable, nonetheless. They have been through things and go through things as the story progresses, and you'll always find the good within the bad, and yet, the opposite is true as well. Some characters you will hate, though, I assure you. Like I said before, I really enjoyed this anime, and I still want more episodes (it's obviously over). If you plan on watching this anime, you must watch the O.V.A. as well, as it has the ending, so I highly recommend those as well. I loved this anime, and I'm sure lots of others will too.

In my other review, I talked about how much I loved the first season of Jormungand. Here is the second season, which I obviously was not a fan of. The story was alright, and it transitioned smoothly, until near the end,--which I won't spoil--where it kind of just became really jagged and rough, like an unfinished product. The art is great as usual, just like the first season, with that semi-realistic anime style mixed in with the realistic surroundings. The sound was okay, but not as good as the first season. The opening wasn't one I personally enjoyed, but I
...
normally don't like the second opening of any anime, due to changes and the like. The characters were great as usual, but they seemed to change somewhat between the first and second seasons--maybe because they were wrapping up the story, but some characters just weren't the same anymore. I get that it may have been meant to end up like that, but I didn't like it personally, and that goes into enjoyment. I really didn't enjoy this season. I can't lie--I really disliked it. It wrapped up the story in a way I really disliked, and it might have been better if there were more episodes to make the transition smoother, I don't know. I legitimately had to force myself to finish the last four episodes, and normally, I don't have to do this. I really didn't like this second season, and, in contrast from the first, I'd say it's just not nearly as good. I would recommend this for anyone who likes action and politics, but the story just really lacks in this season. I do encourage anyone who has seen the first season to watch this season, too, however, since it's best to know the ending. Who knows, maybe the manga is better.

Jormungand was an anime I watched back when I was just getting into anime, right after Madoka Magica and Naruto. I was younger then, but I really enjoyed this anime and have rewatched the first season maybe twice. The story is really intriguing and, like many good anime, leaves you on cliffhangers each episode to keep the tale weaving itself on. There is some inferencing to be made, but the story fills itself in as the anime goes on. The artwork is absolutely amazing, with the semi-realistic style I have grown to love and comedic expressions to add to the
...
mood. It's a perfect mix of anime and reality, making it one of the anime I love most for its artwork. The soundtrack is really great for me personally, and the opening is on many of my anime playlists to this day. All of the songs in this anime are songs I would always like to listen to again, just because they really set the mood for the storyline and characters, of which are equally amazing. They are all interesting in their own rights, and there isn't a character that can be considered dull. They all have personalities, and you'll grow attached to them rather quickly. It's easy to see what's most important in their eyes and see the experiences they've had in the past. I really enjoyed this anime (the first season at least), because everything just came together and was very simple to understand and easy to become hooked on. Definitely an anime I'd recommend to anyone who likes action, politics, or even just a nice story mixed in with great artwork and sound.
