everything that's great about fujimoto's work seems to shine in his one-shots. i finished this manga in one go, as it had me nose deep in its pages from beginning to end. in true fujimoto fashion, this story hides a certain depth beneath a layer of ridiculousness. one moment you are reading profound dialogue or looking at empty pages of silence that speaks volumes, and the next the author decides to blow everything up - and somehow it's very fitting and it makes you shake your head and go 'of course, this couldn't have concluded any other way.'
