The Bad:
Rin isn't the best main character I've ever seen. He's basically Jesus and acts as a panacea for every situation, this is probably the biggest criticism I have for the writing in this series. There are various scenes where the characters are having a conversation, yet they'll focus on one character who isn't speaking for a majority of the scene. This one small aspect could have been fixed by looping two or three frames so that they're not putting pressure on the animation studio. There are a few exceptions to this rule, but I when you're covering the speaker, it ends up looking lazy.
...
The pacing was also everywhere. I also really didn't think his friend was necessary, you know who I mean, right? The perverted supporting character? I can't remember his name.
The Good:
This series is really well written for a harem series. It has a varied cast of female characters that more than make up for Rin's bland character. Each of the characters ends up getting a good amount of character development over the short 24 episode run time. When the series needs to have good animation it does, and the animation adds to the scenes (which is why I would suggest watching it dubbed over subbed). If you watched this subbed think back, which scene was the most emotional for you, was it the scene where Remu just kind of walked around the house in a depressive state? Well, that's more so what it's like with the dub. The great vocal performances from the entire voice cast also added a lot to the feel of the series. this series has a lot of now-famous voice talent in it voicing main characters, so it was honestly really nice hearing what was the beginning of the Funimation voice cast. Overall this series was very good and I would suggest checking it out if you have the time.

The anime was a part of my childhood and the manga became serialized for a second time when I was in Highschool. This is one of the few manga series that I own in its entirety, though I still can't call it my favorite series, even if we're just taking the graphic novel medium into consideration. That's because there are many flaws with this series that become very relevant the more times you read it, which makes it so that it's not the best series to re-read, at least not for me. But I'm here to write a short review of the series and I
...
did give it an 8 on my overall rating of it, so it still does hold a place in my favorites.
-----------
The Bad:
The biggest thing that's bugged me since I started reading this series in high school was the length of every female character's legs and the fact that every character looks vastly older than they are. In the first volume, Takeuchi introduces Usagi as a 14-year-old girl but I'd have trouble understanding that for a couple of reasons. I know what 14-year-old girls look like and that's not it. These designs make a lot more sense for characters like Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto or any of the other adult characters, but no for the bodies of these still-developing teenage girls.
Another aspect of the designs that I'm not too fond of is that you don't really have any differentiation between the designs of different characters when it comes to their physical builds. Even when we get the "guyish" senshi, they only end up being taller and maybe having larger breasts. We don't have a heavy set senshi, or an overly short senshi, or a really tall and lanky senshi. Some variance other than breast size would be nice.
Now onto my gripes with the story. Well, this is a bit of a comparison to the anime, which I know is wrong to do, but the villains pale in comparison to their anime counterparts. The four generals in the first arc didn't have their own individual personalities, nor did Beryl. The same can be said for pretty much every other villain in the franchise until we get to the fourth arc, which I'll talk about in the good section of this review. The supporting cast also tends to suffer in characterization until the fourth arc (when they're separated from Usagi and have to deal with their own inner demons).
But that's about it for the bad.
----------------
The Good:
The story for Sailor Moon is, for the most part, very good. It's hard to really talk about it without going into a full analysis of the series but you'll just have to take my word for it in this case.
Even though the rest of the series doesn't do characterization very well, I do honestly think that fourth and fifth arcs make up for the lost ground with the amount of character development that we get for each member of the supporting cast right before killing them all off in the final. Even though the series ends with each character dying twice and Usagi (arguably) choosing paradise over starting over with her life again, it's written in such a way that makes sense if you're capable of reading between the lines. A lot of revealed about the lore of the Sailor Moon in these arcs that isn't translated into the anime and Galaxia is a lot more ruthless in this version of the story.
Now onto the designs I actually really liked. Galaxia looks identical to her anime counterpart and the design really suits her. The same can be said for Princess Kakyuu, who, while still having a small role, has a much bigger role in manga as well. I also like how the Starlights masquerade as men during the day but are completely female during the night, they don't just change genders.
And I do actually really enjoy this series, it keeps me entertained from beginning to end, and even though I can see the many flaws in the series, I do still really love it.

So, again, writing the review again and making it shorter this time so I don't waste too much time.
This series is pretty harmless when it comes to a story standpoint. You have a male lead and a female lead who will obviously get together or at least end up being extremely close. It's generic and while it was airing people were saying it was really good. As time has gone on it people have seen it as pretty bad to decent with an overall rating of 6 here on MAL, though you could probably already see that.
What really made me drop the series was the
...
fact that during various scenes it was obvious that they just edited in 3D CGI over the 2D CGI and it's honestly extremely jarring to see 3D blood spewing out of a 2D character making it look like an abridged series. Now whereas people like Purpleeyeswtf does this, he does it on purpose for a more random comedic effect when it's very obvious that this anime doesn't use it for the same reason.
That and the already really bad characterisation of the main characters mixed with everything else being mediocre and the series having a decently racist undertone towards America brought the series down from my original writing of 4 to 2.

This feels like a poorly written web series and that's the best thing that I can state for it it. I'm not even going to give this my whole analytical review thing on my blog instead posting it here in a more stream lined approach.
Story: This is a slice of life series, don't let the magical girl premise confuse you. They throw in magical girl elements to give it some further plot but that doesn't really matter when most of the series is comprised of conversations covering small talk before or after classes. And then making fun of magical girl series. I guess the worst
...
part is that it all sounds very improvised, instead of getting a team of writers on the show they got the voice actresses to just talk about any random thing that comes to mind with a few small things written in there. For instance, and I wouldn't call this a spoiler, we go straight form a scene where one girl is talking about liking gorillas and I think colds and then they go into this conversation about how she doesn't feel like she'll ever amount to anything. And the actual plot that we get is told to us by the main character, though I think her being generic was meant to be a joke, same with having the token blonde girl and token big boobed girl.
Art: The opening sequence animation is well animated for the program it's used with and the transformation animations are good for the most part. But when it comes to the main animation, well, I've seen better animation on MMD from a smaller anime called "Hentai" (used in it's real meaning, pervert), that was pretty bad as well and it doesn't show up on MAL to my knowledge. What's worse is that this is made for TV. Mixed with the still frames for most of the scenes and the motion capture that makes these characters move a bit too realistically. The camera also moves extremely shaky, which was a poor choice on their part.
Sound: The opening theme is decent, I mean I've heard worse. But the voice acting isn't directed which is why I think it sounds improvised. They constantly attempt to talk over each other and I think there was actually a point where the subber had to fill the screen with subtitles because they were literally all talking at the same time. The voice actresses also really aren't suited to voice acting, they sound a bit too normal and that's strange to hear from a non-background character.
Character: Figityuck me if I could find any other than their token personalities. I'd have to rewatch each episode a few times over to listen to the tone of their voice, watch their movement, and also to re-read the subtitles.
Overall Rating: 2.25/10
It's terrible and I would not suggest watching it. To draw comparison, it makes me want to go back and watch Mars of Destruction or Skelter Haven again.

I was a fan of this series. Until the Valkria arc ended. This review was written before the ending of the series because as of chapter 155 I have dropped this series. I don't care of it gets better this series has jumped the shark now, and that's not a good thing for the tone that this series tries to portray.
Brynhildr in the Darkness is about a guy and his harem of magical girls. that's pretty much it. But the magical girls are given a very dark twist where they will die within three days if they don't have medicine that inhibits these effects. Each
...
girl has their own power from world manipulation to future sight to enhanced hacking (more useful than it sounds) to Shoop Da Woop like laser beams. The series is, or was, creative in it's character designs, it was definitely interesting to see the ideas that Lynn Okamato could come up with. The main character has a lot of respect for the super powered women that have come to surround him, he often turns them away when they attempt to sleep with him so they don't make a mistake. They handle the fear of dying before procreating well, they handle the fear of death before marriage well and the character of Kazumi was an amazing character study to take a look at. But of course that didn't last past the first few arcs. The Valkria arc was amazing, the villain was a great character foil to Kuroneko and it had one of the most emotional character deaths I had seen in a manga or anime for the longest time. Then we end the arc on this note where Okamato could have ended the series and ended it well. The main character and the main love interest had finally kissed before the main love interest risks her life to save the rest of the cast. They'll be getting a supply of the medicine they need and the leader of Vingulf has been killed, and this is where the series should have ended. It's ending wouldn't have been nearly as satisfying as the Elfen Lied manga ending but not many endings are that amazing. But then it continues.
The series continues and it does look a bit promising, but as you read it drags on... and on... and on. Even though it's only 55 chapters as compared to the 100 chapters before hand this last sixth of the manga has been horrible with a massive amount of fan pandering. Then you have the creation of Takaya. I wouldn't have minded if this guy wasn't put into the role of hero but, well he is. Takaya is one of the most sexist anime characters I have ever seen and he down right rapes Hatsuna multiple times under the grounds that he's her boyfriend, this is the worst part of the series by far. Then you have the Amnesia, which is happening for a second time with the same character, it makes for a repetition of the first arc, which annoys the hell out of me. Then we have the blatant flanderization of the characters.
I mention Kazumi a while ago, she was an in depth character that starts off as a this greedy annoying bitch who isn't very likable, but then she goes through a character arc that has you routing for her. She has fallen in love with Murakami to the point where she wants to marry him. This isn't Hatsuna's puppy love or Kuroneko's self taught love for Murikami. It's truer love that stems from a feeling of trust. She wants to marry him and have children with him though she's willing to risk everything, including her life, to save him, if it meant his safety she would give up her chances to live out her dream of becoming a mother and loving wife. She is literally the only character left un-flanderized (when you take the worst trait of a character and make that their only trait).
Murikami was a very nice guy who legitimately cared for the safety of these girls but now he's just a plot device. He's been worse than flanderized, he's been changed as a character. Now he's just sort of an asshole, or the stereotypical harem master.
Then you have Hatsuna, a girl who has the power to regenerate any injury as well as acting as the white mage of the team. She was a strong female character who would fight back and was able to think strategically within critical situations. But she's reduced to a submissive victim. She's constantly being raped by Takaya, which is being used as comedic relief. I mean what the fuck Okamato? You wrote Elfen Lied, which was a masterpiece for many different reasons and then you went and wrote this. You handled domestic abuse so much better in Elfen Lied. And this has just become a series based around fan service. Speaking of which, all of the female characters get a breast enlargement closer to the current point, which was pointless.
What pisses me off the most is that this series had massive potential to be one of the best manga series I have read, and the second on that list behind Elfen Lied, but due to the last sixth of the manga so far having nothing but filler and fan service those chances have been ruined.
The only thing good I can say about this is that it is a very visually pleasing series.
Age Rating: M for Blood and Gore, Intense Violence, Disturbing Content, and Nudity.
Disclaimer: The last sixth of this manga is not for anybody who has a single liberal bone in their body.

Well that was... a thing. It was a thing right? I'm pretty sure it was a thing, not an amazing thing but it wasn't the worst thing that I have ever seen.
I could never see this turning into a full series, the premise is just too stupid to make anybody want a sequel episode to this. But as I said it wasn't the worst thing I've seen. Anime like Skelter Heaven even out stay their welcome even at the short 14 minute time. Tenshi no Drop is only 5 minutes long and it's not the least visually pleasing series on the planet. In fact the
...
visuals, and by that I mean the art style is done in this stereotypical shojo style using a more moe character design. The animation is very fluid (no pun intended) and it's kind of sad that this amount of effort went into a series that is so filled to the brim with bad and horribly obvious jokes.
So what are the characters. A "proper" girl who doesn't like what's happening to her named Botan (the only reason I remember this is because they say her name like 20 times in 5 minutes). A perverted red head. An angel. A girl who may or may not have a rapeplay fetish. And the other girl with nothing special about her. It's too many characters for a single 5 minute episode without a sequel.
The story is also non existent, i mean we have 5 minutes so that's forgivable. Though it seemed to try to tell a story which it told very poorly. I mean this seems like some sort of independent anime that had a decent animation budget and a development team of people constantly tripping balls, but that's what made it enjoyable for me, the plot is so stupid that it makes you think that the people behind it didn't want you to take it seriously. I mean who would write a 5 minute skit about little girls giving birth to giant colorful mushrooms (not hentai) and expect another human being to take it seriously as a work of art. It's like expecting somebody to take the entirety of Pani Poni Dash seriously, though Pani Poni Dash is a well written balls to the walls comedy, and Tenshi no Drop is not. So after all that I really did enjoy this, as a sort of guilty pleasure. That just means that I can see that everything is wrong with this series's plot and move on.
Age Rating: 17+, for adult themes used in jokes such as rape and childbirth (god that sounded better in my head than out loud)
Overall Rating: 3/10
The art is decent enough and the music isn't bad, just cliched.

I started reading this series yesterday and ended at 3:30 am today. I seriously couldn't put this series down for 20 minutes at a time without being bothered by what was going to happen next. In the series, this is what the Slice of Life genre should be like, rather than happy go lucking anime that put Otaku in a non bullied light.
The series was amazing, I found the plot to be well written with conflict being added in that didn't quite make the series feel like it was dragging on for a longer time that it was welcome, while giving you a really good
...
amount of time to get this feeling of what it's like to be bullied in a Japanese High School. I looked it up and the rates for this sort of violent bullying has increased, a good portion of the time the "Alpha Bitch" is quite attractive, but at the same time they show signs of sociopathic behavior. A lot of other people will just follow behind and do what they "Alpha" tells them to. And this series portrays all that very well whether it's through a change of art style or the plain beautiful visualizations of the character's psyche. I don't want to spoil anything else for it. I will do a spoilers review on my blog tomorrow talking about each thing in the series for anybody who is interested.
I do have to say the only thing I didn't like about it was the ending, compared to the rest of the series the ending was kind of lacking in quality.
My final score for this series is a 9.6/10

Akira is the anime that inspired an entire genre of anime. Where Dragon Ball Z is what a lot of people state to being the most inspirational, Akira Toriyama stated himself that Dragon Ball and Dragon Ball Z were inspired to a massive amount by the original Manga for Akira. I don't know how close the anime is to the movie but I can tell you a few things that I liked about it, because there wasn't much if anything, that I disliked about this animated film.
1. The action scenes aren't overly long
The action scenes are short and the film isn't completely made up of
...
them. I can more so relate this to Neon Genesis Evangelion as the film takes more of a chance to develop the characters, no matter how subtle the development is.
2. There is no definitive bad guy
Where as a lot of people would look at this as a bad thing I'm not a firm believer in a fight between good and evil. There are a lot of scenes where the character being portrayed as an antagonist does something good, and the character being portrayed as the protagonist is doing something bad. They take a good look at human psychology and take us on a right through one of the main character's delve into insanity caused by an over abundance of power.
3. The message we get from the movie is debatable
This film is what would happen if the entirety of Neon Genesis Evangelion were to be a movie rather than a series. They could have just as easily dragged the entire film out into a 20 episode long series, but they didn't. And the ending of the movie leaves a lot of debatability and theories that could be made up from the film.
And the animation is amazing as well as the completely acoustic soundtrack.

So, I picked this up from Chapters because the title and description. The premise is pretty original but the writing is where this story falls apart for me. You can make a series that's pretty much copy and paste from the last series in that genre, at least premise wise. But if you have a good grasp on character development and plot progression and give a small twist of originality and voice you can have something that's written well. You don't have to be completely original to be a good writer. So where as this series has a good amount of originality to it, as
...
can be seen in the first volume, that's it, it get's a point for originality, bringing the story to a 2 out of 10 for me. Why do I bring up this argument and explanation, well people seem to be over loving this series due to it's originality, I just think it's a bit overrated. This is also one of the only series I have ever dropped. And after the first volume I got that the main character is a sexist asshole, that's pretty much it. It gave me a Gantz feel in that respect, which was the other series I dropped. So no, I didn't enjoy this series and the highest rating I can give this series is a 2.66 out of 10.
And to make a villain frightening you have to do more than give them a disturbing appearance, you have to introduce them slowly.

Plastic Nee-san. One of the anime that made me constantly go, What the fuck? every time I watched an episode. The series is very short and it did do a few things very good. But I'll get to those later.
The bad. As always I will get on with the bad first then move onto the good. there was a lack of a story, but i won't fault it too much as it is an episodic anime that relies on humor to get views and the soundtrack was kind of, well to but it bluntly, uninspired and unoriginal, and not that watching the anime would take
...
a long time so that I could see if there was other tracks on the soundtrack, but I can only find the opening theme, which is decent at best. The animation in the series also feels like it's meant to be more of a showcase of what the animators can do rather than actually just wanting to adapt the series.
The good. I was complaining that the art was all over the place earlier but it did look nice, the animation was always very fluid and it I always found something nice to look at when i was watch the anime. The voice acting was also top notch, and it felt like the voice actors were always giving it their all in the studio it's a very thing to hear, Elfen Lied could learn something from this. And then you get onto the character development. The writing staff took a look at the series and devoted most of the half hour this series runs for to 3 of the characters. Makina, Hazuki, and Iroe. They play off each other amazingly well and you can definitely tell which character fits with which name by the end of the half hour. And most of the humor is just them playing off each other and getting into these ridiculous situations, with the exception of one famous scene, if you've seen it you know which scene I'm talking about.
Final Verdict:
The anime was funny but it was too short. It lacked any progressive story that other episodic anime, such as Azumanga Daioh and Lucky Star had. But It's only a half hour and it'll definitely give you a few laughs along the way.
