Intro: I just watched an AMV of this anime and immediately decided to watch the movie. So here it goes…

Story: 6/10
Tbh, the story of this movie and the way they decided to tell it is kinda all over the place. It starts abruptly and we as a viewer did not have enough time to be introduced to the main characters. As an anime only, the pacing of this movie is jarring at times, it jumps from another cut scene to next, not giving enough time for the viewer to properly digest what was happening. It kinda feels like it should’ve been an anime series ... instead to properly tell the story and flesh out the characters. If you have read the manga then watched the anime maybe some scenes would’ve made more sense to you. That being said, I like the story. It is sweet and it makes you root for the two mc. I just wished they have taken more time to tell it in a way that it flows more smoothly.

Art: 8/10
Without a doubt, the art in this anime is so beautiful, the scenery, the beach even the flowers are really vibrant. I haven’t seen the manga so I cannot compare it here, but the anime style of the characters are very cohesive and you can really tell somewhat their personalities by how they are styled.

Sound: 7/10
I’m very particular to the sound or bgm of any anime I watch. All I can say is they effectively set the mood for every scene.

Characters: 7/10
I just wish that they had enough time to flesh out the characters. It feels like there wasn’t enough time to explain the motivations of each character and way they choose to react in their own way. Sure, it shows flashback as an attempt to explain some things but sometimes it feels like that wasn’t enough.
Mio, for me, is a very likable character, Shun, on the other hand, seems to be clueless most of the time despite him being older.

Enjoyment: 7/10
It is a good anime movie to watch albeit a bit short. It is heartwarming at times especially the flashbacks of Mio.

Overall: 7/10
This is a good anime movie to watch if you like BL and can get over the weird pacing. If you have read the manga, then this is would be a nice experience for you as you will have a better understanding of the story.
