The children both have rare powers that are in a sense feared by some/feel the need to be under strict control, which is part of the reason they were under the care of the characters. However they begin to experience new and amazing things and begin to grow as a character thanks to the new guardian(s) and start to grow attach to one another, which you see develop in the story. Similar in the aspect of taking care of someone younger but not having a blood connection with them and really gives off this cute family feel that is so sweet your teeth will rot! In both there is magic and set in later times. They also contain sweet moments and are lighthearted with a few more serious moments that help develop the characters and give back story to said characters. There are also a mixture a distinct personalities for each character that just seem iconic to them.
