Misaki no Mayoiga
add

The setup is very similar. Our main character(s) moved to a new place due to circumstances outside of their control and much of the story details how they adjust to their new life. "Misaki no Mayoiga" is what you get if you combine "In This Corner of the World" with the supernatural elements of the type present in "Okko's Inn"

Munou na Nana

Both shows start with two people called Nana meeting each other, one talented, and the other... talentless (or more average, to be charitable). Beyond the initial similarities, following the story will make you guess, "What will happen in the next episode? Who is the next person of interest?"

Handa-kun
add

Tomoko and Handa think similarly of their position in the school life; they think they're unpopular and hated, along with all the social anxiety that come with it. The main difference is that unlike Tomoko, Handa is actually popular. To sum it up, you can retitle Handa-kun as "No Matter How I Look At It, It's *My* Fault I'm Not Popular!" Additionally, both have banger OPs.

Mom: We have "Drifting Home" at home. Aside from commonalities with their stories partly set in a soon-to-be demolished apartment block that looks remarkably similar, both movies involve grade-schoolers and tackle dealing with loss and moving on with the past. One notable difference is that "Bokura no Yoake"'s plot has lower stakes.

Bocchi the Rock!
add

Great animation quality. "Slow Start" has very fluid animation. "Bocchi the Rock" experimented with a lot of styles that worked well with the humor. They're made by the same studio (Slow Start's studio is credited in-show as A-1, but it's the team that would later form CloverWorks) and they share the same producer. You will notice some animation quirks in Slow Start evolve in Bocchi the Rock. Both are adapted from a 4-koma source material, where a shy and introverted main character have a chance encounter with three friends that would bond together. The resulting character dynamics are great in both!

"Slow Start" is "Girls und Panzer" without the panzer. Both are moe shows with the cuteness aspect emphasized. Miho (Girls und Panzer) and Hana (Slow Start) have similar character designs. Both main characters also entered their high school under unusual circumstances. Tama and Yukari have a similar demeanor and is obsessed in a hobby. Tama is a J-culture otaku and Yukari is a tank otaku.

The Fire Hunter and Demon Slayer at face value are dissimilar shows. However, in terms of how they are made, they are foils to each other. Demon Slayer's chief criticism is its shallow writing in spite of its superb animation. The vice versa is true for the Fire Hunter. A viewer watching both can have a very clear experience on what a show that has one but not the other would feel like. It may aid in answering a common question: "Which do you prefer: a show with good visuals but bad writing? Or a show with good writing but bad visuals?"

Tsurune: Tsunagari no Issha
add

If you watch Akebi as a purveyor of visual quality, I specifically recommend Tsurune S2 (obviously, S1 needs to be watched first) in your list. It has an insanely impressive execution and attention to detail in animation. In my opinion, it even exceeded Akebi's already envelope-pushing animation and cinematography.

Both explore the MC's feelings toward someone precious to them. In Nagato's case, it's the typical school romance. Violet's is a more encompassing concept of what love is, and what it means to her. Both also have very good soundtracks.

Komi Shoko has crippling social anxiety, but has Tadano's help in getting through it. Meanwhile, Akebi Komi(chi) has a natural talent in socializing with her schoolmates.

Both MCs are "upgraded" versions of the prevailing humanoid AIs. While their genres are very different, they both explore the inner aspects of AI and asks thought-provoking questions. Setting-wise, one can argue that Vivy is what Chobits would be like if it was made in the 2020s.

Early in Sound! Euphonium's season, their advisor asks the band what they want to achieve for the year. a) If they chose to enter and compete in Japan's national competition, Sound! Euphonium tells their story. b) If they chose to play casually and enjoy each others' company, it will be pretty much K-On!
