Intro: This anime had the most UNIQUE story ever. Girl meets boy through her parents. Her parents met eachother on vacation in Hawaii and have decided to switch spouses with another couple. The story takes place from there. I honestly thought this anime to be one of the most messed up shows out there, but once again,i'm proven wrong. (:
Story: Like I said, this was one of the most UNIQUE stories on the face of romantic comedies. HAHA. The first time you read or hear about the story and plot line, you may be feeling iffy about watching it,but believe me when i say that despite all the
...
ups and downs of the story,it is WORTH sticking through and seeing it to the very end. It's soooooooooo worth it. I ended up liking the story way more than i thought. & i really hope that all of you that consider this anime, will see it through to the end. [alll 76 + one special] to the end. (:
Art: Like most of you can tell or have heard, this anime is rather old. It was made in 1994(?). But despite that, the art was rather good. If any of you have seen Kare Kano, then hear me out. Kare Kano was made in 1998 and yet the art was worse than Marmalade Boy's. So I didn't have much to complain about the art. It fit well with the story. It was a soft, and bright type of art. (:
Sound: I watched the dubbed version of the anime. I have no complaints about the sound. It was cute. I loved the voices and the cutesy music. I don't know what their voices had sounded like in Japanese, but i thought the dubbed version was enjoyable and decent.
Character(s): I LOVED THE CHARACTERS OF THIS ANIME! Alllll of the characters were surprising all very nicely developed. They each had a story and the anime showed their lives all unravel and come into play. And you end up not hating ANY of the characters. Of course, when they show up,there's hardships and spite for them, but in the end, you find that all of the characters are absolutely adorable and you may end up finding them to be one of your favorite characters. The main leads were worth watching. Their relationship has gone through so much, and it's worth seeing from the verry start, to the worthy and sweet end. Thumbs up. (:
Enjoyment: As you can tell,I enjoyed the anime very much. But that's only because i stuck to it through the verrry end. Therefore, although there are times when you watch this and wanna give up on it [it's long, i know], don't do it. It's sooo worth the wait. Don't skip episodes either! Every episode has something worth watching. I enjoyed this anime soo much. It gave me such a warm feeling. I know some of you will love it like i do.
Overall: I rarely give out 10's. I must give this anime a 10. It has made me feel great and i even feel empty now that it's over. I enjoyed every minute of this heart warming anime, and i hope you all do too. Stick through it, and enjoyyyy (:

Intro: Boy's job is to take pictures of the supernatural. Boy's job leads him to castle to meet girl. Girl has multiple personalities and is a vampire. Boy brings girl home. Story unravels there.
Story: The story was actually decent in my mind. It was creative and it included everything one would ask for in an anime. DRAMA, ROMANCE, ACTION, and COMEDY. It although, lacked a decent ending and left a minor amount of questions un-answered, the story fell into place and connected to the next scene of the story. I have nothing really to complain with the story.
Art: The art was the noteworthy thing about
...
this anime. The art was detailed yet cute. The characters were nicely drawn. Well, the girls anyway. The guy characters were plain and dull while the girls stood out. The art for the characters however, in my opinion started to go downwards. Either the artist felt lazy or tired, they just stop putting in the effort they did in the beginning. The characters ALL started to look dull. But the scenery and backgrounds, i felt, were very good.
Sound: Nothing really to complain about, yet nothing worthy of an overall compliment. The music and voices of the characters were decent. The theme song started out odd, unique, and annoying but as the anime went on, got catchy. [Well, at least to me anyway. I was singing it.] Again, nothing to complain about and nothing too great to mention.
Characters: Ah, i felt they lacked character growth. I mean, the characters had a history and they grew physically, but it didn't show the depth of what it could of been. The male character is just like any other romance/comedy guy character. It's generic. He's a clutz, weak, and nerdy guy who becomes a total hunk for the girl. The female lead was annoying yet cute, but really annoying in my opinion. she was the main focus of the whole thing, and she just didn't attract me. I felt like she should've spoken lesss. haha. just my opinion. of course, most could feel different. The other characters didn't get much. They were there as people who stood with the mains.
Enjoyment: I started off enjoying this quite a bit. But as it went on, i started to feel annoyed and just all together, found the anime tedious. Usually, as any anime watcher should know, an anime should leave you wanting more and/or thinking: wow, perfect/great ending. I don't even REMEMBER the ending of this anime. And when i found out there was a special, i didn't even want to watch it. I did enjoy the comedy and the action part. I'll give it that.
Overall: If you're looking for an anime that is alright enough to keep you busy, this is it. You may end up loving it and you may end up like me, disappointed. We all have different opinions. I've given mine. I'd only say that this anime just was forgettable. Don't expect to be "WOWed"

Intro: Honestly, the story was a catch for me. It wasn't like most animes where we have to endure all the hardships that happen BEFORE the relationship. This anime told the story of before and after. I definitely looked forward to watching something new.
Story: Like I said, it was a catchy story. I thought it was newer and unique than most of the animes that are out today. We focus on the two characters falling in love and working through the hardships of falling in love. It was an innocent, cute, funny, plotline. Although the ending was rather disappointing, the beginning and middle were
...
failry decent. One thing i do have to comment on that was bad, was the re-caps. I found that the recaps soon took up half or even full episodes. No need for such long recaps. I'm sure most would agree.
Art: The art is what realllly got to me. I found myself reading rather than watching. It was like they took the manga and just put it onto the episode. Also, I watched the subbed episodes, and it was rather difficult reading what was on top of the screen and what the subs were saying. [You'll understand if you've seen it] I know it was made a while ago, and during a bad time in Japan, but stilll. There were episodes that were fine, why couldn't it have just remained that way? It was a big let down.
Sound: I didn't have much to complain about the sound. There were a few episodes that the voices were off from the picture, but i assumed that was from my slow connection. If it wasn't than that's another issue. The music wasn't the best, it was catchy enough. I don't have much to say about sound.
Characters: The characters were likable. The main girl character, although could get on your nerves, was down to earth and truthful. She was loud, yet cute. The main guy character was confusing, yet friendly. Both characters were very realistic. Most of the other characters were also realistic. Although we could see character growth in only a few of them, we can assume the growth in the others.
Enjoyment: Personally, I started off enjoying this anime verry much so. But i was highly disappointed at the end. I was left confused, mad, and let down. I had to go to Wikipedia to read what happens in the manga at the end. So after reading that, i was sort of satisfied. I don't know about any of you that want to watch it, but I think you'd enjoy the realism, humor, cute romantic parts, and the love that the two characters share.
Overall: Mediocre. It was realistic. It was cute. It was funny. Although it lacked a decent ending and better art, it was enjoyable for the time being. Don't expect to "WOWED". (:
Hope this helped.

So, I started off watching this just because I realllllllly needed to do something, and I ended up falllllling head over heels in love with it. It's definitely not like other animes. I say this because I've tried watching other love/comedic animes, and i always find myself comparing them to Lovely Complex. It not only leaves you feeling good inside, it will also make you want to falll in love. :) And we all need some love in our lives. This anime was just completely enjoyable and heartfelt.
Story: It was great, not like most animes where the guy and girl fall in love immediately.
...
It shows the steps and hardships that each go through to realize their feelings. It was comedic, lovable, and unique.
Art: The art wasn't the best, but it was great for this type of anime. It didn't need to be super artistic to tell the story the way it was.
Sound: Uh, it's sound. You can turn on the volume up if it's not loud enough.
Characters: You're going to grow to love every character. Even though the female protagonist is a bit of a baby, she plays it off well. (: They're all quite lovable and fun (:
Enjoyment: i'm sure you'll LOVEEEE it as much as i do. Well, i hope so anyway. (:
