Valkyrie Profile originated as a video game for Playstation. Its recently spawned a sequel and has garnered attention from numerous doujinshi artists. This, however, is the official manga adaption released by GanGan Comics, approved by Enix.

[STORY] Due to the immensity of the game's storyline, the plot had to be heavily cut and condensed for a two volume manga. Because of this, the quality of the storytelling suffers. It is suggested for the reader to have played the game to understand the manga and fill in the unexplained for themselves, but it is not necessary.
Because the reader is assumed to be familiar with the plot points ... of the game, the manga is able to explore characters and events it otherwise glossed. For example, we learn a lot more about Loki that will enhance our understanding and enjoyment when playing Valkyrie Profile.

[ART] The art is beautiful, fitting the style and mood of the game and the norse mythology is represents. The pages are simple and clean, but the characters are accurately detailed.

[CHARACTER] Many characters suffer stunted explanation and development because of the length restraint on the manga. Numerous ones have been cut out entirely. But for those that remain we are able to enjoy the subtle details and clues left for us to find.

[OVERALL] This is an impressive adaption for a game that is rather intimidating in scale of story and characters. The manga does an excellent job with Lenneth and adds a new dimension to the story for us to enjoy. I for one, after reading the manga, was compelled to play the game all over again.

Let me first admit that Chibi-Usa is my most disliked-character, so if you feel this review isn't exactly unbiased, I'm not going to argue. >X3

After BSSM S, which highlights Chibi-Usa's friendship with Tomoe Hotaru, there came BSSM SuperS which also focused on Chibi-Usa... in almost every episode. Thinking one couldn't possibly tire of this pink-haired loud-mouthed girl, here is an enitre movie dedicated to her.

The story is weak compared to its two predecessors. The idea of fairies that kidnap children seems pretty contrived... in regards to forcing a plot that will center around Chibi-Usa. It introduces characters such as Peruru and Badiyanu who are hollow ... in character and mere plot-triggers.

The art quality is superb. As the third movie with a large budget, animators can afford to try new and more complicated angles, which may bother some people as the shots can be considered a little too ambitious.

The soundtrack is lacking when compared to the S or R movie. Badiyanu's persistent laughter is very irritating, moreso than what is usual for the Evil Villianess character-type. And she laughs so often you want to shoot yourself. The theme song "Morning Moon" is introduced and it is a light and fitting song, a great addition to the other movies' ending themes.

There is virtually no Character Development. The story presents a conflict and the Sailor Senshi must resolve it. The end.

The Enjoyment and Overall quality of this movie is average. Its delicious eye-candy but the plot fails to draw you in.

Bishoujo Senshi Sailor S is with little argument, the worst season of Sailormoon. Some may point to the Doom Tree (Season R, part I) as the worst, but we must all remember that the anime was an unexpected hit. The Doom Tree season was a placeholder while they made the actual serialization of the manga arcs. So, its forgivable. SuperS however cannot be forgiven because its had all the resources of a popular anime and still let down fans.

While the manga of the SuperS arc gave Chiba Mamoru his due spotlight, the anime version utterly refuses him of this. Chiba Mamoru is once again left ... to linger in the background of every story (virtually absent in the Star season to come) while Chibi-Usa is given yet again way too much screen time.

The SuperS anime focuses on Chibi-Usa, as if an entire S season of her friendship with Tomoe Hotaru wasn't enough. Unless you love Chibi-Usa (to DEATH) this may not bother you. Just warning, almost every episode has Chibi-Usa piping in it.

The art value changes randomly throughout this series. Some episodes are of excellent quality but many of them revert back to the cheap animation of Sailormoon R (part I, Doom Tree).

As for sound, Bishoujo Senshi Sailormoon is consistant in its good soundtrack, but this season offers almost nothing new.

When it comes to Character Development, an Inner Senshi may have one episode them seems to be about them (namely, when Tiger-eye, Hawk-eye or Fish-eye persues them) but otherwise such expectations go unfulfilled.

The Enjoyment level is Poor due to all the reasons listed above. I for one hate Chibi-Usa and find the entire series grating, frustrating and poor quality. Overall, however, there is some goodness to be gleaned, like the progression of Sailormoon's powers as well as the Inner Senshi and the knowledge that we won't have to put up with Chibi-usa anymore in Stars.
