Spice And Wolf is about a merchant named Lawrence who runs into a wolf-deity named Holo while staying in a village during his travels. Lawrence makes an agreement with Holo that he will go with her back to her home in the north. Soon afterwards a series of funny,dramatic and sad events occur over the 13 episodes that make up season 1.
Story
The story although good is the weakest aspect of the series. The main story of merchant meeting wolf in human form I love and I think it's enchanting and makes for some great moments. However this is letdown by the boring corporate espionage and

macro economics that are heavily present throughout the series.
Art
The Art is great and I have no problems with it. I have not noticed any instances of bad animation that has detracted from my enjoyment of the show.
Sound
The sound in Spice And Wolf is great. The voice actors really make the characters come to life I cant imagine any one else other than Ami that can play Holo's voice. I pray to god that the english voice actor for Holo isn't horrible.
Characters
The best aspect of the series Holo is one of my favorite female characters ever. A apple addiction and unpredictable attitude make Holo the best thing about the series. Lawrence is also a likable character and can be quite funny when he teases Holo.
To conclude I love the series and I highly recommend you add it to your "plan to watch" list
