My 8 might be a little biased, but I honestly wanna give this series props.

The Pokemon shorts have been really good. That isn't hard to see..but for some reason Evolutions just kinda sticks out to me.
The only logical conclusion I can come to is that it really has that magic that made Pokemon...well...Pokemon.

As of writing this, there have only been 2 episodes that have released. (Galar, Alola) Lemme just start with saying, they managed to capture so much more emotion and character in 8 minutes than they did the entirety of SWSH.
Don't get me wrong, I really liked SWSH, but it just kinda ... felt lacking in the...magic..element, but this isn't a review for the game..I could go on about it elsewhere ahah! The Leon short, however, really got me hyped for him! It made me feel for him, which is something you like to see. These two episodes also really put the story in a different view. It's nice to see that the protagonists are really just kids who got caught up in the action. (not saying they're not strong and what not lol) That, to me, makes the world feel so much more alive. USUM wasn't bad of course, but seeing Lillie in this short just made me love her a whole lot more. So much more intensity and emotion. Also the whole Necrozma appearance was sick.

So far, Evolutions looks super promising. I'm super excited for Unova for many reasons lol! The art and animation is MUAH very nice. The soundtrack is also good(though Pokemon doesn't really miss with soundtracks) and it isn't overly voice acted. It's a good addition to the Pokemon shorts, and I look forward to a new episode immediately after the next.

They're only 8 minutes, so I don't see why you wouldn't at least give it a shot.

I was never really a fan of recap episodes. No matter how long it's been since I've seen the previous episodes..they've just kinda been a waste of time, though with the SK8 recap they did it a little different.

It wasn't simply a recap of the episodes; instead they sprinkled in their light-hearted comedy and had Miya and Shadow narrate it through Cherry's board. It was generally entertaining, and fun to see the highlights of each episode up to date. (1-9)

There isn't much to say other than "Yeah, it was pretty decent for a recap episode!"
I mean...the best part about this was the fact that ... it didn't take up an episode spot in the main show, so that's a plus.

I'm alright with waiting another week for the next episode..so maybe that's why I like it just a little more than others might.

Watch it if you want a little bit of entertainment from Miya and Shadow plus a brief recap.
(keep in mind this didn't really go over some things the characters go through.)
