I'm not sure if I'd consider this story to be inherently good or bad, but i do think it's an interesting piece of media to engage with, even if it is briefly. The story is full of gore, sex and drama, as well as very strange lore. At it's core, it's a story about overcoming prejudice views of people the main character perceives as lower than him and changing his entire world-view in the name of love (or maybe obsession?).
One thing I was incredibly interested in during the course of this story was the world-building. I won't go too far into the details of
...
the lore because it spoils the manga, but I appreciate the time dedicated to explaining the world the story takes place in, as well as how the biology of the characters work (even if it is really weird). I think the world is just strange enough compared to your average omegaverse story that it's interesting to think about the implications of.
In terms of the actual plot, I was vaguely disappointed by how the story tends to pull punches. While there is a fair bit of gore and sexual content, none of the plot points seem very permanent. I started reading the story because I was excited for drama and general insanity to keep me hooked, and every time I got to a plot point that was intense or left a lasting impact on the story, the author seemed to backtrack and go 'oops nevermind, it's actually all okay for now'. Now there was plenty of shock-factor, but the author was a bit lacking in committing to the bit.
I'm sure a lot of people are wondering more about the actual relationships, and I enjoyed a lot of what the story had to offer. The main couple is kind of freaky and I enjoyed the bond they ended up forming. There is a love triangle aspect to the majority of the story, but it's clear from the beginning who will win out in the end. I'm a big fan of Rurikawa going from completely unwilling to get close to a beta to willing to self-destruct along with Kyougokuin because they're meant to be together in life and death. Additionally, Tsukuyomi has a fantastic character arc where he struggles with the grief of always outliving the partners he falls deeply in love with as well as the children who come out of that relationship. As a side note, I'd like to say that omegaverse children are always the cutest with no exceptions.
A part of the relationships I wasn't a fan of are the fact that the love triangle aspect seemed kind of like an afterthought. Kyougokuin is only interested in Tsukiyomi because of his elite status and Tsukiyomi has absolutely no interest in Kyougokuin. So even though there's the illusion of drama that comes from a love triangle, it's not as interesting as I'd want it to be.
Overall, I found the plot points themself very loose and not as impactful overall, but if you're interested in exploring weird lore and the implications that it has on the characters within it, I'd recommend giving it a try. It's also worth a shot if you like freaky rabbit/wolf sex and insane plot lines like me.
