Very mild character spoilers for Episode 1

Ningen Fushin is one of those shows that falls under the radar during its airing season and is rarely talked about during or after its airing. What makes this show fall under the radar are the flawed main characters. All the main characters in this show were “too human” in a way.

For example, Nick, our main male protagonist and swashbuckler, gets kicked out by his adventure party leader and dumped by his girlfriend because of it. Instead of moving on, he gets depressed, spends all of his money on an idol girl, and fails at attempting to join or ... form a new adventure party because he “can’t believe in anybody anymore” because of his old party and ex.

Tiana, our mage, gets dumped and cheated on by her fiancé because she was doing better in magic school than him and took the number one spot at the school from him. She decides to leave the school after that, even though she only had one year left before graduating early. Attempts to get a normal job fail, so attempting to make some money, she gambles all her money away on dragon racing. As a last resort, she decides to attempt to become an adventurer but has a hard time because she “just can’t trust anyone” after being betrayed by her fiancé.

Honestly, Zem, our cleric, is the only one who can complain about his backstory. My boy Zem here was a promising and respected cleric who one day rejected a love confession from a child. The kid decides to falsely report him, gets locked up in jail for three months, and then gets banished from the church. Now Zem “just can’t trust anyone” and becomes an adventurer who enjoys girls and getting drunk, things he wasn’t allowed to do before he was banished.

Our last main character, Curran, is a great swordsman and the vanguard, who also “just can’t trust anyone” because her last party abandoned her. Also, she likes to eat a lot of yummy food, so she’s broke as well.

Our four “heroes” accidentally meet up at a restaurant across from the adventurer’s guild, and after a night of exchanging stories over a lot of beer, Nick decides to create a party with the four of them because all of them have trust issues as well as money problems.
An idol otaku, a gambler, a carouser, and a foodie—all who have trust and money issues put into a party together—what can go wrong? The party is built on trust and distrust, which means a lot since adventuring means putting their lives on the line, and when dungeon exploring, trusting your party members could mean the difference between life and death. The adventure party “Survivors” was originally created to make money so that each of the four members could indulge in their random hobbies, so there’s no way a group of randoms who have trust issues would be able to accomplish anything amazing like saving the world, right? Right?!

Story 4/10: In what universe do four people spend five lifetimes worth of money in between one episode? So unrealistic! How did no one invest any of their money? What happened to the bookkeeping? Well, I guess if they hadn’t spent all that money, they would have retired from adventuring, and the anime would have ended early. MC pockets have holes to force the plot to move forward. Overall, the rest of the story was pretty good; each episode had something interesting going on, and the pace wasn’t too fast or too slow for a 12-episode show. I have not read the source LN, so I can’t compare. The story does seem to lack a sense of direction, as some episodes are lackluster and don’t build into the overall story but instead explore side stories. I think the show would have been more enjoyable if there was an actual goal the characters were aiming for instead of just a slice-of-life fantasy with a band of adventurers.

Animation and Music, 4/10 Nothing to write home about, mediocre on average, ok at best, and looks like budget cuts at some points, like at Ep 4, 3:30. CGI background NPC characters were not deal breakers, but some of the slide show animation to cut costs was annoying. Overall, not bad in the animation department. Camera work was bad, especially when the characters are just talking. The camera likes to zoom in on their whole face, which just felt awkward when combined with the 2-3 different frames of mouth movement and 2 different frames of blinking. OP "Glorious World" and ED "Never Fear" are catchy and great songs! I love the cute animation that goes along with the ED as well. If you’re still reading this, I recommend giving the ED a watch!

Characters 6/10: The characters all had expensive hobbies that seemed like a waste of money, but that’s what makes them more interesting. Instead of putting their lives on the line for honor or to save the world, they do it for the money, and that’s something we don’t see normally in anime. Character development could have been ironed out better; it wasn’t horrible to say. I honestly really enjoy the dynamic characters and their development through the show as they grow as people. I would have scored higher if the show had decided to spend more time on character development, but I like the direction they are already going. I would have liked this show to have had 24 episodes or more seasons.

Overall enjoyment: 4/10. Not bad for a show that’s fallen off the radar. I would recommend this show if your looking for a light show that's not serious. This show is like the complimentary bread you get at restaurants, don't expect a full meal out of it.

TLDR at the end

Ep 1, 2 and 3 is a recap of Volumes 1 and 2. There is a clear lack of in depth character development compared to original by Rooster Teeth from 2013. The only new content in these first 3 episodes is a remake of weiss and blake character introduction trailers and the introduction of a new type of grimm called the Nightmares, as well as a new character named Shion Zaiden who is a Nightmare hunter.

huke, best known for creating the original character Black Rock Shooter and his works on the Steins;Gate visual novel, is the main illustrator behind RWBY's character designs. I think he has done a amazing job designing all the character's original winter outfits and anime looks so there's nothing for me to complain about here.

Past episode 3 the storyline turn away from the original show and dives into a new arc/sidestory where Weiss gets infected by the Nightmare grimm and the rest of team RWBY is tasked in saving her. The story is centered around Negative Weiss, a alter ego of normal Weiss corrupted by grimm. From episode 4 and on ward, we change from the fast paced recap like episodes to more slow-paced world building episodes. Also here we get our first look at the new winter style character designs to keep team RWBY warm in the depths of Weiss's nightmare.

The fight scenes on average honestly look garbage, plain and simple. They were underwhelming, lacking in places, and at times a looked like it was made with slide shows. The fighting scenes during earlier episodes didn't look that bad, even exceptional in some parts, but after that I think they ran out of budget or had started to rush things because of COVID or other issues that affected timelines. During ANN interview, when asked about how COVID affected the making of RWBY, Good Smile Company's CEO Takanori Aki stated "The impact was significant across the schedule. For starters, getting an entire team together physically to make the anime became impossible. Production-wise, drawing, staffing, and casting methods all changed as well. As a result, I think it affected parts of the anime as a whole." The use of 3DCG is very noticeable in a bad way during episode 6 which did not blend well with the 2D animation. Everything would look fine one scene then the next scene it started using cardboard cutouts for characters. The lack of consistency during these scenes really breaks your immersion. A lot of times during intense fight scenes characters look better when they were standing still talking then when they were fighting. Not really a major spoiler, but Crescent Rose's muzzle gets misplaced inside the dream world making Ruby relies on her semblance way too much during fights instead of your original fighting style where she does quick movements by using Crescent Rose's recoil. Even outside the dream world in episodes 1-3, she uses he semblance instead of the CR's weight to to move around quickly during a fight.

One of my personal major upset in the whole show so far has been whenever Penny shows up she does not say any of her catchphrases like "sal-u-tations". Not only that Anime Penny feels and talks nothing like Original Penny. Original Penny felt more upbeat, loud, childish and even obnoxious at times. The best way to describe Anime Penny would be, empty, and overall a weirdo, almost like she's a robot reading off a script.

OST is completely different from RWBY 2013, now Void_Chords aka Ryo Takahashi is in charge of OP and fight scene music instead of Jeff Williams, like it or not. Void_Chords has said during AX that OP "Beyond Selves" is in a way, their response to 2013 RWBY's upbeat music by Jeff Williams. Beyond Selves was pretty good, but the rest of the show's OST was at worst, uneventful or unrememberable. A big thing with RWBY was how fire the fight songs are, and unfortunately Ice Queendom was not able to capture even a fraction of that from its predecessor.

TLDR - First 3 episodes quickly recap volume 1 and 2, also with remakes of original trailers. Rest of show diverts from original story but animation quality drops due to covid and other unforeseen circumstances that affected overall quality. If you haven't seen the original, please do yourself a favor and go watch that first before thinking about picking this anime up. If you've seen the original, and are a fan, then feel free to pick this up with a grain of salt and just remember any RWBY is better than no RWBY as we all wait for volume 9. RWBY was known for its amazing character driven stories and fight scene choreography, and don't forget the music, throw all of that out the window and you get RWBY Ice Queendom. This anime feels like it would have been the next big hit especially since it already has a large established fan base, only IF it had stayed in the oven to bake for some more time.

[No spoilers review] Make sure to watch Asobi Asobase alone and if using earbuds, keep volume lowered. This show is outrageous and hilarious! Multiple times I found myself having to pause to recuperate myself after dying from the crazy obnoxious screaming and over the top facial expressions. Asobi Asobase: Workshop of Fun is not your slife of life girl's doing cute things anime despite what cover picture and opening shows. Anyone watching would realize quickly after the first episode, no just a few minutes into the first episode.

Art -
The animation is the weakest point for this show. After multiple ... uses of the similar surprise scenes they lose their touch. Besides that, other scene to scene animations parts are mediocre at most, nothing to get excited for. Nonetheless this does not take away from the comedy yet also does not add anything.

Sound -
The OP and ED surprised me. Inkya Impulse feat. Ikepy & KSKN was the perfect song to mirror the op Three-Piece. The singers Hanako Honda, Olivia, Kasumi Nomura did a amazing job doing a 180 from the calm gentle summer breeze op into the death metal ed. If Three-Piece was the clickbait of a youtube thumbnail then Inkya Impulse would be the thumbnail for a suggested video edging viewers to watch the next episode.

Again, props to the voice actors for bringing the characters alive on screen. Asobi Asobase wouldn't be the same without them. Hanako Honda's voice actor
Hina Kino's streaking, screaming and yelling was very annoying as they should be, bringing the Hanako alive.

Characters -
Our three main characters Hanako Honda, Kasumi Nomura, and Olivia if described in one world, it would be, stupid. But that works in favor for a gag comedy show. Their stupidity added together causes a exponential explosion that causes their overall stupidity to triple, no quadruple, allowing the trio to find themself in random questionable events that make their day to day high school life unexpecting but hilarious.

Enjoyment -
Asobi Asobase is a really fun to watch, but not all in one sitting. As a gag comedy it lacks any sort of real plot making it more enjoyable if watched over a long period of time instead of all in one day. The characters get annoying after watching episodes back to back, and no matter how funny Honda screaming is, she gets annoying after one too many times. The mediocre art doesn't help in this department much ether. The jokes are funny but character reaction should also play a important part of the comedy, so when the reaction is the same thing over and over it gets dull.

Overall I would give Asobi Asobase a 6 out of 10. I genuinely enjoyed it, and if a sequel or spin off shows up I would probably watch it and enjoy it as well. I would not recommend this how to friends who just started watching anime as a comedy show recommendation because of how obnoxious the characters are.

Oddly satisfying.

Tsubasa Kurata a hardcore mecha fan working as a software engineer dies in a car accident, he gets reborn into a world where human piloted mechs called Silhouette Knights are used to fight monsters called Demon Beasts.

Here you have your typical isekai copy and paste setting, reborn into a noble family with strong magical potentials and his past life memories. Some outliers are our main character is reborn as a baby allowing mc a chance to create childhood memories. like in ep1 which really nails down the fact this guy is a no joke die hard mecha fan. Also his new name ... is now Ernesti "Eru" Echavalier, there was no point in mentioning his previous life name.

With his love for mechs and drive to piolet one, mc gets studies and trains his magic everyday. During this time, he meets Adeltrud "Addy" and Archid "Kid" Olter, whom he became friends with and ends up helping them learn magic. The three of them enroll into Laihiala Academy to learn more magic.

Mc being mc becomes the talk of the town quickly because of his quick wits and knowledge even at the age of twelve. He saves the city and ends up getting to meet the king for being so cool. Typical isekai stuff.

Mc goes on to start a project to build a new generation of mechs as well as his own personal mech, but to do this he would need a lot tools and knowledge that he does not possess yet. This is what makes/breaks the show for some people. Mc begins to go threw trials and errors to build and upgrade a new generation of mechs. Some viewers may see this grid tedious, while some others find it oddly satisfying watching our young mc driven by his love for mechs work to build and improve from nothing his very own mech to fight in.

Fun short 13 episode that I would recommend if your into world building or progress related plots. You don't need to be a mech fan to enjoy this either.

For a slice of life school comedy show, everyone who worked to create Nichijou really outdone themselves.

Zero spoilers review I promise. Don't search Nichijou on online, too many spoiler clips.

There are a few things Nichijou does to separate itself from the rest of the slice of life comedy shows. One is by implicating large long term jokes that are hard to miss, easy to understand, is funny the first time around, but even funnier when it comes back around. Another thing Nichijou does well is joke punchline execution. funny, quick to understand but most importantly, unexpected. What drains a lot ... of comedy shows is how predicable they are. You know the punchlines before the joke even starts. Nichijou throws that out of the window by being unexpected enough you physically can't predict what's going to happen next.

The staff was thankfully overbudgeted for the art and sound portion. They did a amazing job keeping up with all the crazy animation requirements the jokes needed to be set up. I imagine the conversations for the animators went something along the lines of "I need you to animate this" "All this work just to make a joke about a sausage?" "Yes".

Three normal high school girls, Mio Naganohara, Yuuko Aioi and Mai Minakami shows us their daily life of fun and struggles. Then there's the story of professor Hakase Shinonome, her robot Nano, and the talking cat Sakamoto daily life and we get to see how them intertwine. We get to see these characters play pranks on each other, fight over small things, have falling outs in their friendships followed by mending, and best of all eat delicious food. One word to describe these characters would be wholesome.

I would really recommend Nichijou to everyone. Amazing animation and art style, interesting characters, and best of all great jokes just waiting to be discovered.

Eve no Jikan reached it's goal of $18,000 after launching on Kickstarter.
In 2010 Eve no Jikan won the OVA category in Tokyo Anime Award.

Eve no Jikan is a gem that only appears a few times a year. Beautiful strong, everlasting, yet small. Personally I would have loved to see a season two or a continuation of the story in a book.

Story 8/10 - A strong story makes up the backbone of a good anime.
Art 6/10 - Nothing to special here, nothing crazy or amazing, or awful.
Sound 5/10 - Mediocre
Character 8/10 - If the story is the backbone then the characters are the arms ... and legs. The characters drive the story forward. Even the smaller side characters in Eve no Jikan are just as important and play key parts in story development.
Personal enjoyment and overall score: Good 7/10

You ever scroll down your anime list and your eyes catch on to a show that you remember watching but don't remember the story off? Beatless is that kind of show for me.

Boy meets girl story with some action thrown in to spice things up and get the story moving, problem is the story is... dull and boring. I even somehow got this show mixed up in my head with guilty crown once because of how much this show does not stand out for me. What makes a show good is when they can create moments where viewers can feel at awe ... or amazed, moments where the audience gets drawn in and for even a second forget their soundings and get drowned by the art, sound, and characters in front of them.
Beatless, does not do these kinds of things for me personally.

Story - 4/10
Art - 5/10 Mediocre. Visually appealing, animation wise there are no real problems, nothing awful, yet nothing that really stood out.
Sound - 5/10 Same thing with art, nothing crazy going on her.
Character - 3/10 They are outright boring and dull. The side characters did not stand out at all. A story's bad guys are just as important as the hero's yet Beatless fails at creating mindful bad guys that stand out, they just fade away after their arc is over.
Enjoyment and Overall - 4/10 I stuck around till the end, and even afterwards wanted more because of how unsatisfied I was. When I spend time on something I expect to be given something in return. For a anime with such visual pleasing characters and art, they fail to deliver on a exciting story.

Arifureta Shokugyou de Sekai Saikyou was like Itai no wa Iya nano de Bougyoryoku ni Kyokufuri Shitai to Omoimasu, but while Maple was all cute and all, Hajime was a edgy.
He gets strong way to fast. He is way to edgy. He goes from o look im a weak baby to I wear black because it's the color of my soul. Everyone betrayed me I can't trust noone(fake deep voice) He looks like Najenda from Akame ga Kill, but at least Najenda not edgy but still cool.
The CGI was cheap. Mixing normal animation with CGI should not be allowed. ... Story is cheap, humanity is in danger bla bla bla summoned from different world thats cute get to the back of the line you bankrupt studio. Character are unlikeable or unrememberable.
Hajime goes from being a weak baby to crap strong in one ep. Shows like
Akame ga Kill, TenSura, DanMachi, ect are good because the main character is not just a random
person that is thrown at us and is expected to be likable just because hes bat poo strong. You can't just throw a overpowered character
at me and expect me to like him. You can't throw cute anime girls at me wihout cat ears and expect me to like them.
Your going to tell me that humans are in danger while everyone is living in a fancy mansion.
ALsO wtf is this fanservice. Like chill. If it looks under 18 its under 18 idc.

I consider Fooly Cooly a stable of the anime culture. It's one of those anime that is unforgettable. Wild, unpredictable, crazy, and cool.

Story: One thing is for sure, the story was hard to follow personally. Still this was not a killer, but somehow made the overall enjoyment cool.
Art: I will never forget when the show started to run out of finance in the middle of a episode and had to downgrade.
Sound: The songs by The Pillows in the show is amazing and spot on, and in a way shaped FLCL into what it is. Or maybe its ... the other way around?
Character: They added Canti because the director thought it would be cool to have a human like tv head medical robot that can transform. 10/10
Enjoyment: Its pretty Fooly Cooly.

Story - Natsunagu! is about a young girl searching for her friend from online in real life after she loses connection with her online. Interesting to follow and heartwarming to watch. 7/10

Art - I love the animation direction the show decided to go with. Character designs to the world itself looked amazing.

Sound - Nothing about the music or sound of the show stood out to me, I would have to rematch to see if anything was interesting but that would miss the point. On the other end nothing was off with sound design ether.

Enjoyment - It was fun while it lasted and I'm not sad its over nor happy it ended. I would recommend this to friends but personally it was fair. 5/10
