Gesshoku Kitan, despite its interesting premise, fails to deliver a truly captivating story due to its horrific pacing.
It is a delight to see unconventional, and dark and gritty BL stories and it is a shame that Gesshoku Kitan did not have the time to develop its mystery and characters. The characters are all rushed to fulfil their roles, leaving no room for the reader to get to know them. Since it is difficult to connect with the characters, the climactic scenes (which are primarily focused on the characters) feel flatter than they should be.
