Violet Evergarden has a slow start (something many anime suffer from), but if you're willing to look past that there's a beautiful emotional journey ahead of you. It's difficult to share the impact of this show without spoiling, but know that Violet grows a lot as a character and learns how to cope with the life she's been given. Through impacting others she is impacted herself.

Some find issue with the episodic format, but I find it helps show the bits and pieces that add to Violet's development. While there is an overarching conflict that ends up tying it all together, I would say that ... this anime is more of a slice of life.

I highly recommend this anime if you're into heart-breaking emotional mush, but if that isn't your speed then you definitely will not find much in this show and will likely see Violet as annoying.
