I am writing this review on behalf of both the prequel and this one, the finale. I haven't written anything nor made any reviews in a very long time, so please bear with me.
Buddy Complex is a mecha drama (with a hint of romance) series revolving on some ultra nerdy theories that will blow your mind. Well, that is if you are into that kinda thing, of course.
Have you watched Interstellar? Are you interested in quantum physics and its relation to the space-time continuum? If yes, then Buddy Complex is your series. It's a shining star in the vast void of space. I haven't heard
...
of this up until three days ago. I watched Valvrave before actually watching Buddy Complex, so I was having a mecha anime streak, and Buddy Complex just stole my heart. It is by no means the greatest mecha anime of all time, but it just enough to give you chills and brain-f***s at the same time.
I really don't want to spoil the series for potential watchers, but as a fan of mecha, drama, and romance anime, this series is highly recommended. It might feel rushed, but I am certain that people will understand.
On a more serious note, this series needed more time. It obviously (for those who finished the series) needed more episodes for the projection and execution of the story—the unfolding of the story, per se. That way, it would actually feel "more" complete. In any case, that doesn't matter because it actually has a conclusion.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The story is not the best, but it has the potential to make you wet. Let's leave it at that to avoid spoilers.
The art is spectacular, and I am in love with the character designs! My favorite character is Hina, by the way. (for obvious reasons - lol)
Sound? It has your normal mecha anime sounds and music. Personally, it's so-so. But if we are going to talk about the voice actors and actresses? Well, I am a super fan of Hayami Saori, so I'm in love with Hina.
The characters can get very, very annoying at times, but it is all within normal expectations from a mecha drama.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
If you are having a hard time finding a good mecha anime, and if you are a fan of Sunrise, then by all means, please watch Buddy Complex.
This series blew my mind, of course. I'm an ultra geek, after all.
My verdict: 8 out of 10

What if you suddenly knew that you're an intangible and fleeting existence in an alternate universe consisting of neuro-quantum data within the boundaries of reality?
You exist, yet you don't. Only feelings remain true.
This is "Hello World" in a nutshell. A mind-boggling film made for the hopeless romantic.
The story sets off in a very common anime setting, but in then near future. As it progresses it'll immediately give off Sword Art Online vibes (an opinion). I wouldn't delve too deep into the "neuro-quantum" aspect of the show due to the fact that it would give away too much of the story, and future viewers quite a
...
huge hint, and predictions might become spoilers. So for this review's sake, let's just say that the plot in itself is quite generic, but also quite original, which might seem like a contradiction, but watching it for yourselves would be a good answer as to why I would describe the entirety of the film as such.
Art looks a lot like KyoAni's style, so it's a ten. No arguments, it's a ten. I'm not much of a fan of 3D CGI, but obviously Studio Graphinica didn't overdo it, so I appreciated much of the animation.
The sounds and music are beautiful, especially the OST. Personally, I'm a freak for sounds and technicalities involving music, so I dare say that the presentation and usage of sounds and music on the different scenes and situations in the movie were masterful.
The characters felt static several times, but the heart was there (I'm just a hopeless romantic *sigh*), so it's a generous seven.
I really enjoyed the film, though it feels kind of rushed, like really rushed during the climax/falling action parts, but I' still give it an eight.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
My verdict: 8 out of 10
NOTE: Please don't hesitate to watch Hello World even though some people really criticized it badly. Give it a try, it's good!

I haven't written a review in a long time. Kanata no Astra changed that almost immediately.
Kanata no Astra is not so attractive if you just read reviews or the synopsis, it's just not that appealing to most avid viewers that I know. This is purely subjectively speaking, of course, but from what I know, a lot fans tend to lean over the much cliché genres like action or fantasy. Sci-fi and space dramas need some warming up to before people can actually watch it, based on experience. With that said, I can almost assure you that Kanata no Astra would be a total eye-opener for
...
you. Even if you're an avid sci-fi or space fan, you would find this series worth the unproductive watching hours.
The Story:
It's a space survival adventure. It has a LOT of plot twists. It's super intense and the thrills will really take your breath away. You want chills down your spine? This is the anime you are looking for. (I will not say specifics about the story because you really ought to watch this.)
Art:
Lerche is a good studio, I love their art.
Sound:
Pretty normal for me, didn't tug on my heartstrings unlike Vinland Saga's opening or Aldnoah.Zero's soundtrack music. Voice acting is top-notch, of course.
Characters:
The characters aren't boring to watch, surprisingly. They have a lot of individuality and their varying personalities really make the moments in the series colorful.
Enjoyment:
Haven't felt like this since Code Geass. 10/10
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Edit: Has closure and a very satisfying ending.
I totally recommend this series! A must watch!
My verdict: 9 out of 10!

Fate is just a word.
This is what "Tenki no Ko", or more popularly called, "Weathering With You", had taught us. Tenki no Ko shows us a spectacle of love, friendship, and the pure strength of emotions. In a world set in modern day Tokyo, with urban legends actually coming to life, two people of opposite sexes meet... only to change one another's lives forever.
Shinkai Makoto did it again with this one. I still vividly remember three years ago, when I watched "Kimi no Na Wa" at the theaters. They still did the same colorful and powerful delivery to the movie and more. I have no
...
words to thoroughly divulge how the story flowed, but watching it at the big screen just tells you to shut up and watch in awe. And yes, I did just that. The story may get a little bit confusing at first, especially since they introduced a fantasy part of it, despite the movie being in an actual replica of Japan and the world. Masterfully delivered, that's how it was.
I have no qualms as to how Comix Wave did Tenki no Ko. In my opinion, they did an even better job on the art for this movie than on Kimi no Na Wa. The backgrounds in the movie are so alive and full of color, literally and figuratively. The animation is so fluid and well-made, it just made my eyes pop. It felt like all scenes were key animations, seriously speaking.
The sounds in the movie are electrifying, especially towards the end. (Not gonna give spoilers.) I'm kind of sound-technical myself, so I must say that the sounds are so well-balanced. No part of the movie happened when the background music or sounds just overpowered the voice acting or vice versa. The way it is produced is just. that. good. And lastly, with Radwimps doing another score for Shinkai Makoto's work, it just completes the movie.
The characters remind me of Taki and Mitsuha from Kimi no Na Wa, but they are evidently different from them. I love how Shinkai Makoto writes his characters with just slight differences, but just enough to show that these characters are made by him.
Enjoyment is ten over ten. I'm just gonna be not elitist and say that I'm a sucker for tearjerkers like this movie. I'm basically a weeb, so movies like Tenki no Ko just kills me.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
My verdict: 10 out of 10
NOTE: Please DO NOT MISS your chance to watch Tenki no Ko on cinema.

A late (and slightly spoiler-free) review for "New Game!!":
"New Game!!" takes the workplace life and drama on a whole new level than with its predecessor, "New Game!". This anime in particular delves deep into friendships, hardships, relationships, and "ships", but with also a slight spice of the fanservice that fans quite asked for after the first season's hype.
In this new season the characters were portrayed in a much balanced manner than with the first season which almost totally deals with Suzukaze Aoba, the main heroine, and her difficulties and developments at work. Now we get to see more of the other characters' sides which mainly
...
includes two new characters and Yagami Ko's character development.
For those with a slight hatred or sadness or boredom for their jobs, New Game!! puts you in a likable bind in which you will find bliss. One of the best parts about this anime is that you will get to see that there is so much more to your jobs than those being something you do everyday repeatedly just because you need them to make a living. If that is the case, I'd call subjective relativism, but personally, I believe that New Game!! is more than just that―happiness and contentedness with one's job served on a platter―no, it is not that. Realistically speaking, the company the characters are working in and their workplace environment seems almost impossible, BUT that is not the focus of the series. Ultimately, I think that New Game!! is REALLY for those people (the target audience) who are lonely at work; those people who are suffering mentally; those people who are just at work for the sake of money. There are many more possibilities.
In a sense, New Game!! might be a new take on "curing" depression from work. It might not be enough, but for the sake of those suffering, I suggest you people watch this series. Watch the entirety of it, know the characters, know their feelings, and know their resolve and confidence, it really helps A LOT.
I recommend this jewel in the rough not to just those lost, but also to everyone looking for a good time. The happiness and passion in this series is just oozing, and that may lead to an ultimate inspiration (just like how I was touched by this series that actually lead me to write a review).
My verdict: 9 out of 10
PS: Not enough Hifumi in this sequel! Looking forward to a third season!

I have no words to properly explain and how to say this... comprehend? Yes, that's it exactly, "comprehend" one of the most awesome and artistically splendid animated movies I have ever seen.
I haven't wrote a review in a long time, but once the end credits started rolling and the ending song began, my hands started to move on their on, burning these passionate emotions onto my keyboard that's bereft of its color.
No Game No Life Zero shows what happened during the Eternal War of the Gods and how Imanity came to be. Also, how Tet became the One True God.
All that I can say is
...
that this, THIS EXACTLY, is the kind of show that moves me, I've longed for movies/series like this one for the longest time yet.
This truly is a masterpiece, a roller coaster of ******* emotions, and simply and truly a sight to behold. I recommend No Game No Life Zero to everyone that loves anime that moves the heart, tears it apart, and lets it grow once more.
My verdict: 10/10

A young woman and a young man both on a journey of self-realization, and the latter half on his way to repentance and redemption.
"Koe No Katachi" is yet another masterpiece from the popular and ever-sensational studio, Kyoto Animation, and from its brilliant and rapidly growing author of its one-shot manga, Ooima Yoshitoki.
Koe No Katachi tells us a story of a young Ishida Shoya who was once a bully to a deaf young girl named Nishimiya Shouko and was doomed to being alone for the rest of his life until one day he decided that his life was more than just that and what he (and
...
Shouko) really needed was to understand each other. The story is vibrant and complex yet sometimes comes as vexing or frustrating, but in that sense it shows you the beauty and the sophistication of a simple story (and how it can be more than just simple).
Story: 8 out of 10; I really loved the show. I really can't say much, but there were actual plot holes which I wish were never there. (I guess I really just have to buy and read the manga.)
Art and Animation: 10 out of 10; I LOVE KYOANI. Period.
Sounds and Music: 10 out of 10; the sounds and the music were stunning. I felt moved after that last part of the movie. I had trouble holding back my tears, and part of that was because of the music.
Characters: 9 out of 10; The characters may come eccentric and weak, but it's a drama. What can I say? The characters were actually portrayed in a sensible and tangible manner and that makes them feel unique and alive - like real people.
Enjoyment: 10 out of 10; I personally LOVE dramas and emotional roller coasters. I love bawling my eyes out while watching even though I know it's fiction. In short, rhetorically speaking - Koe No Katachi is right in my strike zone.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
My verdict: 10 out of 10
NOTE: I truly believe that Koe No Katachi deserves more praise than the actual praise it gets now. Watch Koe No Katachi in the theaters! Support KyoAni and Ooima Yoshitoki-sensei! (I'm looking forward to more works of this exceptionally talented mangaka.)

Bless KyoAni for this cute masterpiece~!
Put bluntly, Kobayashi-san Chi no Maid Dragon did not exactly have a great story (although the story was linear and quite easy to follow) considering the fact that it's a slice-of-life anime. Nonetheless, the show truly deserves all the praise that it can get and more.
The art and animation (as expected of Kyoto Animation) is truly eye candy. The sounds and music (especially the opening) really stick to you and that's a good sign; it simply means that the songs are catchy and it livens up the atmosphere. Basically, upon hearing the opening, you'd instantly know that what's coming up
...
is going to be an explosion of moe and all the cutesies and cuddlies.
The characters are amazing and lovable. Kobayashi's character development, specifically, is the cream of it all. I loved how she started off a loner and was living everyday life like a normal office person, but suddenly and abruptly changes forever because of this sweet and beautiful dragon girl. It's pretty simple if you think about it, but it's not the simplicity of it that matters. What matters is that you (as the audience) know how the characters felt and how they changed for the better. I think that is beautiful in itself.
Overall, it's utterly adorable and enjoyable! (Points for Kanna-chan! She's unarguably the most curious, sweetest, and cutest character of this past season.)

Alright, I'll keep this review clean and as spoiler-free as much as possible since I haven't really written any new reviews for the past two months.
To begin, I must say that Ordinal Scale actually went above my expectations. It simply went off with a large bang and it really kept me at my wits end.
Since we're talking about Kawahara Reki-sensei here, expect awesome twists that really connects along all the dots. The story focuses on Asuna and Kirito's current relationship and it tests that connection to their limits. If you think about it, it's somehow generic, but the story build-up is spectacular and it really
...
leaves you awe-inspired.
In terms of the sound, art, and animation, I have no qualms about that. A-1 Pictures really did a number on the art and especially the animation, and that mostly and definitely made me give the movie the praise it utterly deserves. The action or battle scenes are pretty much enough to make you say "wow" — I mean... you really gotta see those colors and distortion effects flying through the screen.
In terms of characters... I'm really glad to have seen Kirito and the gang again in action, also, don't forget the new characters because they also give a lot of meaning to the show. With the addition of these new characters, you can almost guess where the next story will lead you. Personally, I think that SAO is going to take a much, much darker turn.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
My verdict: 10 out of 10
NOTE: Please watch the movie up until the end of the credits. There are extra scenes after the credit roll.

To begin, I'm not exactly into BL and stuff like that. I am completely a straight male.
This is my first review ever since joining last October.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Basically, I honestly think that the art, sound, and story is superb. It has all those good elements to it. Once you've watched enough anime (romance and shoujo in particular) in your lifetime you'll get this certain irresistible feel about this certain series that it absolutely has that "romantic excitement" to it that makes you feel tingly all over.
The characters are ABSOLUTELY LOVABLE. Although it may seem like it has the cliche elements of an otome, the characters are still
...
unique in their own way. I firmly believe that this anime is totally and utterly adorable and I love it to bits!
This anime is recommended for those hopeless romantics out there!
IT IS PERFECT! 10/10
