I will be completely honest with you here. I don't write reviews at all, so actually writing one now is a step in a direction i don't normally take. You might have also looked at my list and only seen relatively bad scores or out of the ordinary good scores but that is because i only do these things, like rating a series, and go to these efforts if I actually want to say something about it or think the actual score of a series is unjustified. And yes, in my eyes, everything above 5.00 is highly unjustified, even if by MAL standards this already
...
means that the manga itself is un-enjoyable or only caters to a very specific niche of fans who would enjoy it.
Without further deviating from the point i am actually trying to make:
If you came for the Comedy, Echhi and Romance, leave right now and don't come back. What started out as a genuine nice experience on the side with a few cleaning tips turned into a parody of itself that if taken even a bit serious will leave you absolutely repulsed. The "Extra Chapters" After 8 with weird numbering like 8.93 etc. ruin the entire established story.
The first few extra chapters are actually just kind of annoying and some even might find them enjoyable but the last three (as of writing this review) diminish the entire score of this manga to a 1/10.
I can only substantiate the quality drop by thinking that the author treated his own series this way because he wanted to generate controversy to have some false sense of popularity. It might have worked on r/manga for the very first release of an extra volume but looking at actual numbers, like readership count, makes it clear that it certainly backfired.
To explain what the mangaka did: He basically set up this relatively nice story about a cleaning freak moving in with a "gyaru" who did not clean her house for apparently months. It's not that enticing as a story but it was nice enough to read on the side whenever it popped up to unwind a bit and I believe that many readers, including me, read it for that. This genre, if you want to call it that, of light hearted banter and cleaning tips completely gets destroyed by the extra chapters in which the author decides to casually introduce some very heavy themes, like full on sexual assault, on the side and plays it off as some kind of sick joke. "Make my Body clean again" apparently was the punchline. It not only betrayed the story itself but the readers who actually enjoyed the material and wanted to find out where it was going.
Now after, apparently, the last chapter of the extra series, the author said that it would return to the normal themes but all the people who started reading this manga for what it was are gone and upset, while some, like me, like the idiot I apparently am, stuck around to see how bad it would actually get.
This manga is a very bad overall experience. What started out relatively enjoyable, while not great, turned into a complete mess, which people only still follow because it sometimes turns up on r/manga and the dumpsterfire that it became is burning too hot to look away.
If I had to turn this manga into a metaphor i would say that it's like a friend who you enjoyed hanging out with from time to time but all the good memories you got with them got completely obliterated because he decided to murder your dog and hang it's entrails on your bedroom wall because he wanted to be popular.
I liked this manga, which is why I am so upset. Don't read it if you want to have a good time. Do something meaningful with your life, so you don't turn into a hateful, rambling idiot like me.
