The girl in both manga starts off as someone with no friends and has trouble speaking to others. Yamashiro in Kokoro Note has no bad rumors surrounding her, though, unlike Kuronuma of Kimi ni Todoke. Both girls admire the main guy for their liveliness, popularity, cheerfulness, and the fact that everyone loves to hang around them. Both girls also have the desire to make friends with the people around them. Also, they would usually say, "It's all thanks to Ishizaki-kun(KN)/Kazehaya-kun(KnT)." The boy gets closer with the girl, and gradually gives them more confidence. Both guys also notice the changes in the girl and are happy for them. I'm going to end up spoiling you all, so I'll stop here. Anyway, if you liked Kimi ni Todoke, then I recommend reading the one-shot, Kokoro Note, too.
