The ending is perfect, but I will elaborate that later, first I want to talk about the manga itself, there are two things, at least from my perspective, that are the primary theme of this manga, which are idol culture and lie.
First of all, this manga likes to focuses a lot on lies, and at the same time this manga shed an extremely positive light on idol culture, which funnily enough, is a lie. In reality idol culture revolves around romanticized innocence, the reason idols don't need to be good at singing and dancing is because they are primarily only selling the display of innocence,
...
no negative or unpleasant emotions, just pure child-like wonder and radiance. Which goes without saying the reason idols aren't allowed to date is because they can't afford to show that adult-like side where they have complex adult life experience, because the moment that side is revealed is the moment you lose the ability to sell the illusion of innocence. And this manga is all about reversing that, because they are trying to tell you that the ultimate idol Ai is nothing more than the best liar, her dazzling eyes are the lying eyes, she is the best at it, and that is what made her to be the queen of idol. And that is what I like about this manga, not only that it's trying to sell (and successfully) the appeal of a messy not-pure-at-all idol, it's also trying to tell that idols are just human with complicated life.
Though of course, just like how the protagonist Goro/Aqua portrayed to have roundabout ways of doing things, I think this manga is also trying to tell something in a roundabout ways as well, despite the primary theme, idols, there is nothing that explains in detail just how miserable idols are and nothing about how perverse the fans are as well, even though there are so many details about entertainment world, tv productions and such, there are even many backstory of every supporting characters, or even the fact that it brings the topic of pedophilia in entertainment industry, the idol culture itself remains untouched by negativity, which again, at the same time, this manga revolves around "lie" a lot, so the idol culture presented in this manga is a lie. Which is why, people who don't normally enjoy the theme of idols (like me) can enjoy this manga.
Secondly, regarding Aka the author of Kaguya-sama and Mengo the author of Scum's Wish, despite their name described as Aka to be the writer and Mengo to be the artist, I believe Mengo still have a hand in affecting on how the story goes, after all, I am not interested in Kaguya-sama at all, I did tried to watch it but it was too boring for me, however I enjoyed Scum's Wish manga. The fact that some Aka's fan don't like this manga and me who enjoyed Mengo's work managed to somewhat enjoyed this manga, just convinced me that Aka being the *only* writer is in name only, I believe the twist and bitterness of this manga is a touch of Mengo's idea too, so yeah, if you are a fan of Mengo, you can definitely enjoy the story too and not only her art in this manga.
Lastly, I'll talk about the ending, and I must say that the ending is perfect.
~!This is where the spoiler starts!~
Since the beginning, Goro/Aqua's true love is Ruby/Sarina, even though it's not the romantic one, it is his true one, since the moment they spent time together in their previous life and get reincarnated as a twin, it was so obvious. As stated in the end, he thinks that he is born as her twin is to help her, which is true considering how the entire time the story is focused on navigating in idol world as he kept going with his mission to make amends. So he shouldn't end with Kana nor Akane because they aren't his true love, he shouldn't end with Ruby either, because despite her being his true love it's not romantic and incest route will betray his entire character, so yes he should die and he did. As the manga already explained, Aqua/Goro's self split to two due to drastic gap of his adult memory and his child-body brain, so Goro's love is towards Ruby, while Aqua's love (romantically) is towards Kana, but because since the moment he was born he never thought of himself as "Aqua", he has always been Goro, he didn't see Ai as his mother, only his idol, and her death further strengthen that sentiment, hypothetically if Ai didn't die he would probably developed son-mother bond with her as he grows up and see her grow old, but that's not what happened, so Goro never really become Aqua like Sarina become Ruby, Sarina sees Ai as her mother since the moment she was reincarnated, mainly because she lacked maternal love, she thinks of Ai as her mother while Aqua only sees Ai as his idol, which is obvious by the way Ruby calls her "mama" while Aqua only calls her "Ai". Which is why, in the end he chose to die based on Goro's feelings, instead of choosing life based on Aqua's wish to live.
One funny thing about this whole thing though, is Ruby, at least according to me, Ruby is not interesting at all, despite the entire story ends up to be revolving around her, many supporting characters have more interesting personality than her, Ruby is the embodiment of ideal idol, kind, cheerful, ambitious, all things good that idols are selling. As someone who don't find idols appealing at all, Ruby is also not appealing at all to me. Ruby is boring, just like idols are boring to me. I'm not sure if Aka and Mengo does this intentionally, but it's as if the manga is also trying to say "Ai the idol that you would hate in real life is much more interesting than Ruby the ideal idol that you would buy and believe in real life", it doesn't matter if the story stated that Ruby surpasses Ai, as the reader of the manga Ai seems to be portrayed to be more captivating and alluring than Ruby. Ai is an interesting enigma, while Ruby is boring, it's funny.
Overall, at the end of the day, this manga manages to evoke reactions and thoughts from me to the point of me writing such a long review, it could be that perhaps the whole thing I said about idols and lies is just me projecting but still, objectively, this is a decent manga, or at least a manga that does a decent job at entertaining the reader, though I must say the way the manga constantly glorifies the greatness of celebrities is a bit tacky, on top of that, all the characters are portrayed to be good and kind except for one villain so it's also a bit immature in a way, so beware of that.

This is going to be long, but here we go...
I was in middle school when I found this manga for the first time, I was in convenient store with my dad, seeing the book shelves, usually there would be no manga nor comics in convenient store, but I saw this, it was volume 5, just one sitting alone on the book shelves, so I bought it, without thinking. At the time I was in a phase where I loved reading comics, no matter what comics, and I didn't care that it was not volume 1. When I read it, I fell in love with it,
...
the characters are unique and fun, the drawing style is also endearing, the first character I loved was obviously Hotaru, and the way the mangaka makes herself appear occasionally as a random mob character was so funny too, there are so many cute details regarding the manga, every page seemed to be made with care, the little comedy actually made me giggle, and Mr Bear is the cutest thing ever.
Since then I made it my mission to find all the volumes, oh but I was in for a struggle, this series is so hard to find even if I live in a big city, whenever I go to the book stores I made sure to try to find any volume I can get, over the years I only managed to get random volume in random order, and I didn't want to read any of them unless I find the first volume or completed all the volumes. Fast forward, decade later I found out that it has anime adaptation, I didn't want to watch the anime because I thought I would prefer to read the manga instead, but eventually I gave up and just watched the anime, it was disappointing of course because the anime adaptation doesn't adapt the entire story, so at that point I nearly give up, I could've read online on internet but I don't want to, because their image quality is out of date at that point and the first language I read it as is my native language instead of english, so it felt too different. At this point I actually already have a way to make money for myself, but I never wanted to buy random copies online because I didn't want used books... but eventually I gave up, and I just decided to buy whatever volume I can find available online, some of them are used library books and some are dirty, but in the end I managed to complete the set and have all the volumes.
So I started reading them from the beginning, reading it when I was a kid and reading it to completion when I'm an adult is so different, most things I felt when I read it for the first time are still there, the cute details and all, however I also notice many things due to the experience of me reading other manga after all these years, here are the things I don't like about it:
1. The panel arrangement is messy, unlike other manga these days that are pretty tidy and simple, this manga have a messy panel arrangement, sometime you wouldn't know which dialogue is supposed to be the first and sometime some panel is from left to right instead of right to left.
2. There are too many texts, there are many manga that are like this, bunch of texts in one bubble or square and sometime all of those filling up the entire pages more than the drawing.
3. There are too many extremely tiny texts, if you are a perfectionist who don't like to leave anything left unread, this is hell for you, sometime I had to use zooming feature from my phone camera to be able to read these easily.
4. Too many multiple different sets of sentences overlapping each other on many pages, sometime you will find 3 different sentences being cut and scattered all over for multiple pages, for example you will see dialogues sentence, flashback sentence, and feeling/emotion sentence at the same time being written word by word all 3 on the same panel/pages and each set of sentences are separated by each other for multiple pages/panels.
So, all those elements, are especially a torture for me who unfortunately, developed OCD after all these years, if I read this manga when I was a kid like when I found them for the first time, I probably wouldn't need to struggle reading it and would've read them faster and probably would've liked them more than now. However, I struggled, and those stuff I don't like about just makes it harder and made me take so much longer time for me to read it, I had to read the sentences repeatedly making sure I didn't read them in the wrong order.
So anyway, regarding to the story itself, as I read it, volumes by volumes, eventually I notice that the whole thing is a bit stupid, here are the things I don't like about it:
1. There are so many moments of characters just staring with their jaw dropping, every single time any character say even the slightest shocking or sentimental things, you will find a lot of pages of just these drawings of characters staring while having surprised expression.
2. Adults listen to the children and treating them like they have equal maturity as them, yes I know the main characters are children but eventually whenever they want to do something stupid and selfish it's annoying that the adults just lets them and supports them every single time instead of realistically stopping them and scolding them.
3. The ending... well now, I'm a person who can accept even the ending of Game of Thrones tv series, but this one... is stupid, I'm not saying it's rushed or cut short or anything, because if the mangaka chose a different conclusion she could've made a decent and reasonable ending with the same amount of chapters/volumes.
Regarding the ending, with the story as is now, it is seemingly rushed for sure, it feels forced, definitely. However, I actually read all the 1/4 pages, the mangaka did say that the story is going to end since several volume before the last one, and few volume before the last she did say it that it's going to end, so the amount of chapters/volume is set from the beginning and she most likely planned this since the beginning, the problem is the way she chose how to end the story, the way she laid out the story arc is also inefficient and stupid if she knew how many chapters/volumes she is going to make beforehand.
Now, first of all I'm going to say that with ending like this, this manga is just not worth to read at all if you expect a satisfying or even a decent ending, the only time where it's worth to read is if you have childhood memory with this manga and just curious how the story ends up going, or whatever sentimental attachment or value you have with this manga.
NOW THE SPOILER PART, I'm going to talk about the ending, first, I don't see any problem with the flow of the story from beginning until few chapters before the end, the story could work, it's all fine.. until the moment whether or not Natsume should actually end up alive or should remain dead, and I think making him alive is a mistake, because here is what could've happen with only the same amount of chapters left but with natsume being dead as the ending:
Hotaru still went to bring Natsume's body into a time trip space, Mikan still going to have her memory wiped out while not knowing whether or not Natsume survives, but inside the time trip Hotaru decides to give up and not save Natsume and just let Mikan go forget everything without grieving until the end, and all those time Hotaru just hide and just lie to give Mikan hope the same way happened in the manga, just to give Mikan a peace of mind before she forgets everything, so Hotaru should've seen the future first, it could be accident made by Nodacchi or whatever, but Hotaru should've known the future first and decides not to save Natsume after all, and the future went on and the grown up Mikan ends up with Luca instead, just as he promised Mikan that he would meet her again and just as Natsume told him that if he is gone Luca should be with Mikan, it still could happen with the same scenario of kidnappings and everything just like in the manga, except without Natsume being alive, but with Hotaru and Luca being there, and Mikan still getting her memories back by taking a tiny piece of her own nullification alice and remembers about Natsume and finding out her first love during childhood being gone is another part of bittersweet moment of her growing up, like usual she would grief and move on just like how it happened so many times throughout the entire series, after all she graduated from her childhood and Natsume should've stayed as part of only her childhood, it would've made sense that way... but it seems like the mangaka doesn't want to kill Natsume off, so maybe she should've not kill him off in the first place then? like he could still get stabbed and dying to trigger Luna soul draining Kuonji or have him saved by longevity alice to make him live long instead of him being actually dead-dead and then get saved by time trip, because Hotaru being gone and Mikan starting off another adventure as the ending is just... so unreasonable and pointless, there is no morality here... at least if the ending was Natsume being dead, the moral of the story would be Mikan growing up and living on again and again getting stronger mentally.
TLDR, I have sentimental attachment to this manga, but objectively, detached from all the sentimental bias, this manga is not that great and not worth reading due to the disappointing ending.

This manhwa is on hiatus due to the artists health condition, but anyway, every chapter I read on webtoon there are always hate comments toward the male lead, like okay I get it, he is horrible, but who cares, come on, that's the whole point, he will have development and redemption and everything because otherwise why bother writing a story?
The art is amazing, every time I see Matthias' face on a panel I would spend 5 extra seconds to stare at his beauty, I would sigh and say "so handsome.." in my head. Honestly, I don't care what he has done, he will always be
...
innocent for me because he is so hot hahah.. anyway, for the art alone and how everyone looks absolutely gorgeous, I would give this 10/10.. but the manhwa is on hiatus after 24 chapters.... ugh... please artists.. authors... come back and continue.. I love your work!!! please get healthy soon!! (and ignore the haters please)
I don't care what people say or what their opinion is, but I love the dynamic and the pairing of the main characters, they are made for people who like them, like me, and people who don't like it should just back off, I think they are perfect for each other, I think they are perfect couple, so many potentials for development and twists and turns... and romantic moment!! so I really wish and hope for the authors and artists to continue soon asap! I have never seen a manhwa so beautiful since The Pale Horse, I did read the artist's other work like Winter Woods, but this one here is so much more beautiful, every panel feels like a painting of beautiful people..
So, tl;dr, this manhwa is amazing and gorgeous and I hope the hiatus ends asap (praying for the artists health).

>watch "the grimm variations"
>its not the grimm variations
I was expecting anime adaptation of actual Grimm brothers fairy tale, but instead I found out that it was another interpretation (or version) of those fairy tales inspired by how the Grimm brothers twists fairy tales around. In the end, is it enjoyable? is it good? yes and yes. I love the music, the animation and the unexpected plot on each episode.
I wish there are more episodes, even though there are only 6, all of them are unexpected and interesting, my favorites are The Red Riding Hood (2nd episode) and The Pied Piper of Hamelin (6th episode), Especially
...
the 6th episode, I just love how it uses a lot of Debussy's music, or at least I felt like it did, basically many lovely classical music, it feels so dreamy, mystical and magical, especially around the topic of reaching out to freedom. So, contrary to the other review by other people, I actually like the last episode the most.
I would really like it if they make more, maybe season 2, either to tell more about the Grimm brothers and Charlotte or just more anthological stories, but I guess it's harder to make since they didn't actually just adapt Grimm brothers versions but have gone out of their way to write their own versions.
At some point, this anime reminds me of Aoi Bungaku, a minute of someone talking about the story and then the story itself playing out for the rest of the episode, it's also about classical literature too. I think anyone who enjoys anthological anime with twists and turns would enjoy this anime too.

I want season 2 please por favor onegaishimasu.. also this should have been a 2 cour anime!! ok here is the overall ratings..
Concept: 9/10
Story: 8/10
Art/Animation: 9/10
Character designs: 7.5/10
The theme of this anime is dark fantasy, just witches, dark magic and goth, it's delicious, my kind of food (anime), I love it. This is one of those anime that I enjoy watching in one sitting without getting bored, one of those anime I would watch an episode after episode just keep going because it keeps me curious, too bad it's only 1 cour, though I know why, most people aren't into these type of anime. However
...
I love it and will never be bored of it, especially with the ending like that, I really want to see season 2 happening.
I can't stress enough how much this anime should've been 2 cour, the pace isn't slow or fast, it's just right, it's enjoyable, it is good. This is a good anime. Simple as. I would go as far as saying this anime is the best new anime for winter 2024, and as I'm typing this of course this anime is so underrated at the moment.
This anime has similar vibe with Kuroshitsuji, but instead of demons, it's magicians, witches and monsters, the world setting is more interesting and variative, at least when comparing the anime. Basically if you love gothic, magic, witches (pretty girls) and action combined, this is for you.

I definitely want season 2, it's good enough for that and that is why I'm writing this review. Well, in short, if you like the combination of slice of life and isekai adventure, this is for you.
In term of isekai genre, this anime is quite refreshing and unique from typical isekai anime. The protagonist is portrayed weak just as the title promised, and unlike typical reincarnation the MC doesn't retain full memory of her previous life, she is properly herself with her personality and traits, she only has bits of thoughts as things happening around her as if she has second self in her mind,
...
and the anime is portrayed as if you (the audience) are her second self, so occasionally she would talk to you (the audience) in a FPS POV way.
Though, I must say this might be not everyone's cup of tea and might be boring for some people, I just can't deny the differentness this anime provide, if you are open minded this anime is actually quite good. At least in my experience, I get the feeling of comfort watching it, it has this wholesome vibe. Despite the theme of the world being in the setting of typical RPG world, there isn't much fighting, almost none, this anime is not an action anime, instead, it's just very chill adventure anime, it's a bit slow paced, and personally I would say this anime should be a 2 cour anime instead of just 1, it's good enough for that, but also considering the story arc it's also good as is and I wouldn't complain.
Concept: 8/10

"I CAN FIX HIM: The Anime" number 26315.
That's it, that's the whole anime is about. I don't usually write a review but when I finish the anime it got me thinking that it's one of the "I can fix him" anime and it's just funny to me.
There are so many villainess reincarnation anime recently, but this anime has nothing to do with that so I'm not sure why it's called "villainess", but of course every time there is a "villainess" anime, the villainess isn't going to be a real villainess, which we have seen many times for the last several seasons (or few years),
...
so of course you shouldn't just take the "villainess" title seriously and just outright ignore it at this point, whenever you see a "villainess" anime, you know it's most likely going to be a story about a girl reincarnated then fixing problems.
But anyway, I recommend this anime only because and only to those who love this "I can fix him" story type anime. Basically if you love shoujo anime which story revolves around fixing a man (winning a man's heart), then I don't see any reason why you wouldn't like this, especially on top of liking the reincarnation themed anime, then this anime would be quite sufficiently enjoyable to watch.

I just had to write a review because of the top reviews being ignorant. I'm not sure if these people are familiar with the point of director being a director, yes yes, they do directing job, but what makes a director different from others? every good director have a distinct style. Complaining over Makoto Shinkai making the same movies is like complaining over the whole point of Makoto Shinkai being Makoto Shinkai. It's like complaining over Quentin Tarantino making movies that are all very Tarantino, or Takashi Miike being Takashii Miike, to name more famous names, like Sion Sono and Lars von Trier, All these
...
directors have a pattern in their movies that are similar and distinctive to their style.
So in Makoto Shinkai's case, his distinct style of his work is always a story about dreamy teenage romance adventure with supernatural phenomenon as the obstacle. That is the point of Makoto Shinkai, and I love it, I would want more of it. In fact among all movies by Makoto Shinkai that I've watched, which I've watched quite many, I like this one the most, I feel like he is matured up in this one.
Since the first iconic movie by Makoto Shinkai, which is 5cm/sec, I never give any of his movie 8/10, but this time I give it 8/10. It's all good, story (ending) is satisfying and characters aren't annoying. I would say this movie is underrated.
Overall, if you are looking for a good movie, this movie is objectively good. However if you are looking for a movie that is different from typical Makoto Shinkai then dont watch movies made by Makoto Shinkai. I suggest picking up movies made by other people if you want something different from the usual Makoto Shinkai movie.
PS: When I was watching this, I didn't see who made it, but I could tell it was made by Makoto Shinkai by the vibe and story alone, this is proof that he made it as a good director, just like artists, they are good artists if their work is not only good but also distinctive enough that people can tell who made it.

1. If you ever want to see through or understand the mind of those stupid easily carried away girls also known as bimbo, this anime is for you, though not all bimbos are the same and in this anime, it happens to be the nice friendly one.
2. If you ever get confused over whether or not you are lesbian/gay because you feel possessive/obsessive towards your same sex friend despite having no sexual desire to them, this anime is also for you. Loners or introverts often feel this way towards their only friend because they don't have many friends and they don't want to lose them,
...
it's a common occurrence, not a sexuality.
3. If you ever get confused over whether or not you love someone romantically just because you admire your same sex friend and want to be close to them, this anime is also for you, because this is normal common thing in friendship, it's not a sexuality.
The only reason this anime have high score is because a lot of the audience are women (obviously), and sadly, most of them do indeed empathize with the characters because most of them are like this. though they may fail to see which part is realistic and which part is fantasy. in a way, this anime is very woman, because most of them don't know what they want, and they can be deliberately shallow and have savior complex, they want to be loved but they keep falling for some version of toxic men, just like the character in this anime.
To be honest this anime is just a normal drama to me, these things happen often, but obviously not so sweet like the blatant female fantasy that happens in this anime. For example, the protagonist thoughts and characters are relatable to most women in real life, but in reality big musicians do not fall in love to their groupies. Hachi's sentiment about the desire to shallow fancy things (trendy clothes, big house, fancy food and furniture) in life is real, but the scenario of multiple hot men genuinely falling in love to a woman who has weak resolve to commit is not real. I mean, lets be real, Hachi got pregnant 6 months after being away from home, that's a shorter duration than the pregnancy itself, in real life women like this are the type who are either crying in abortion clinic or the struggling single mothers desperate to find love, men do not like them. In real life men do not like Hachi.
As for Nana, a lot of loners in real life share that sentiment of possessiveness, attraction and fear of losing towards their friend, but in this period of time where people think personality trait is a gender, they can easily mistake their love towards their friend as a hint of their unexplored sexuality, while in reality its not sexuality unless you feel sexual desire. It's only that they feel like they don't have any other better friend and afraid of losing them, this happens often, and is actually normal, just like how it's portrayed and told in the flow of this anime. Nana and Hachi are not confused bisexuals, they are friends having sentiments often happen in friendships.
I see negative reviews, and I actually agree with them, though many are written by men and they probably don't know the core traits of women is to be completely driven by love and to succumb to it, Hachi is a stupid shallow woman, its only natural for men to not be able to empathize with her, this alone proves that men indeed do not like women like Hachi in real life, so this anime is still far from realistic. The only realistic part of this anime is just the flawed thoughts of the female characters, also the common daily life drama like cheating and break ups, which isn't an impressive drama, story wise.

Let me explain what this anime is in short sentence, this anime is the portrayal of "what if a chuunibyou boy have all his dreams granted?", because that's what this is about. Every stereotype and typical trope combined into one dramatic mockery, once you understand this you will enjoy it, you feel like some things are cringe? well it's because that is the joke, and every time it happens I laugh my a$$ off, especially that iconic "I am atomic" scene, it truly is the funniest part of it all, the hard-cringe, though some people unironically likes it and thinks it's cool, but that's fine,
...
anything goes as long as hopefully this anime gets second season and recognition it deserves. I do not care what reason people like this anime as long as this anime gets enough popularity to get second season, that's all I want, just more of this anime, because it is indeed enjoyable, this anime makes me smile and giggle whenever I watch the new episode every week, anticipating the cringe moment or dialogue with a big grin on my face.
Originally, I didn't intend to write a review, but I see that a lot of people don't get it, aside from the primary story line, the fact that this whole anime is a joke, despite the crude naming of some characters like Do-M Ketsu-Hat (the literal translation would be masochist a$$-hat) or Jimina Seinen (mediocre man), which at least according to me is a very obvious hint that this is written as a joke.
All that aside, even if you are not cultured enough to get the funny, the anime is still really enjoyable in general, and the music is especially great, unironically great.
For the concept and the music, I would give this anime an 8/10, but that would be unfair to the other 8s anime in my list.
