/// minor spoilers ///
A BL movie adapted by one of Kanna Kii’s greatest work, Umibe no Étranger. A somewhat light-hearted movie that deals with relatable topics that some people may have experienced.
As a avid BL reader myself, I consider Kanna Kii’s Umibe no Étranger one of the greatest manga that deals on the concept of emotions, at first i thought the movie would disappoint me, but it really didn't. In fact, this adaption, really surprised me.
Most BL reader’s have probably read or have heard of this title before, but going in blind may be a treat for you.
The story isn’t really the strongest in this
...
one, there really isn’t much plot to explore, after all this is not some type of fantastic BL Shounen with a wondrous world and complex plot, but it doesn’t need it. This story is grounded to reality, which is all that it needs.
The story being very grounded to reality allows the characters go shine even further, which in return, makes the plot move. The thing I love the most about this particular piece of work is how the concept of emotions is portrayed. Each character is simple, yet very complex on its own, in which I really find fantastic.
Their feelings, their emotions are so complex, yet at the same time so simple, and I just find that so great in that story.
A story very grounded to reality needs its character to act on it, and UnE did it. The character were relatable, realistic, and has a life on its own, has emotions on its own, which is what this story needed, and honestly I am in it for it. They really shined and it really touched me.
But such a strong projection of emotions wouldn’t have worked that much without the art and sound. After seeing the trailers way before the movie released, I was really happy how amazing it looked. They did Kanna Kii’s art justice which made the experience be taken onto a whole other level. Each scene was breath taking, I love how colorful the surroundings are, how peaceful and calm it is, hell I could go on and on about the art but let’s stop there, truly the art did Kanna Kii’s wonderful illustration’s justice.
The sound was also dare I say FANTASTIC. I love how there’s really no bgm for the majority of the scenes, it really adds the intimacy between the characters, and when there is bgm, I can find my heart rushing and honestly, I would kill just to get my hands on that soundtrack. The SFX also really won me, it really added something to the movie which for some reason, I can’t put my hand on. The VA’s were ridiculously GOOD, the casting was perfect and they really portrayed the characters emotions PERFECTLY (maybe too perfect if I say so myself)
While there are short comings in this movie, such as how some scenes may have been a little off or messy, or how goddamn SHORT it is, but the important thing is that it doesn’t really take away the experience which is the most important part for me.
Overall, this movie over exceeded my very low expectations by a long shot. It was beautiful, well directed, and really made me smile. Umibe no Étranger was one of the few manga that welcomed me in my BL rabbit hole and I’m honestly thankful for it. The ride of emotions was spectacular and really heart warming. I love how delicate each characters, their problems, what they were facing a more. This movie really spoke to my BL loving heart.
- Umibe no Étranger
P.S Let me say thank you for Blue Lynx for making more and more BL movies, like I said, i am a very avid reader of BL and honestly, bring those manga to life really speaks to my heart. I’m waiting patiently for more projects about to come if they ever make new ones

「 This review would be for the entire series of Gintama 」
Before I start this review, first of all, I want to say thank you to the mastermind of this anime. Sorachi, no, Gorilla-sensei, from the bottom of my heart, just, Thank you so much.
Gintama, what is Gintama?
Gintama is not bad, its not good, its not great, its not a masterpiece, its nothing else except Gintama. I would not dare to use masterpiece for this anime because that means I would just be categorizing it with the other shows, when clearly it shouldn’t.
If other shows have made me laugh, and enjoy. Gintama gave me
...
a sort of happiness that I just couldn’t find in other anime.
The plot isn’t “become a pirate king” or “defeat the demon king” “become the number 1 hero” isn’t like that at all. Instead of using the summaries present, I’ll give you my own summary. Gintama is all about protecting those close to them, and what makes that WORK, is the gem of the series, the heart of the series.
The characters
Each and every character, their personality, their relationships, their banter, everything, is what this made just so special. From Kagura and Gintoki’s sweet fatherly relationship, to Gintoki’s and Hijkata’s weird love hate relationship, to Otae’s role as everyones vulnerable big sister, to Kondo’s kind heart. This characters, woven with their perks, strengths and flaws, is the heart of the series and what makes it so great.
And this relationships with everyone, would later let you come to understand the protagonist himself, Gintoki, and would also become something special for the viewer as well, and that includes me.
Like I said earlier, I didn’t just enjoy Gintama, it didn’t just entertain me, it made me happy.
The key core to Gintama, its interactions and relationships with the characters is what made it super special for me. It felt warm, it made me happy, through small episodes, like for example, stand alone Kagura centered episodes made me feel warm, it made me get this giddy feeling that I get whenever I hang out with my friends.
It felt like it was real, it feels like I was connected to the characters somehow.
As a gintama fan, I always see complaints of how long it is, well I don’t blame them really, but I think the episodic nature will later become the core of each major arcs, that would later make you understand why, why that everyday life was so important. Through those mini comedy arcs, to its stands alone episodes, you get to connect with everyone and their relationships.
Those connections, with their everyday life, became so important, to the story, to the characters, to probably the author, and most importantly, to me.
Gintama is a painting that looks overrated in the surface, but is in fact a treasure in the pile of Gold. With each characters being the paint, major arcs being the brush strokes, and Sorachi as the artist himself. When combined together, it shines brighter than any gold in existence, a work that was made with deadly long years.
Gintama was a pretty, beautiful, bright silver.
It made me realize how beautiful life is, I’m not sad, I’m not depressed or anything, I’m just a person who enjoys watching anime who just so happens stumble across Gintama. But despite my normality, it made me enjoy life a little more.
I think this is what Gintama the “anime” for me. It made me enjoy life, it made me appreciate it even more, something that I couldn’t get from others.
The anime that made me laugh, cry, angry, scared and more, but most importantly, it really did made me happy.
I’m not making you to watch this anime, Gintama isn’t for everybody after all, and I’m also sorry if this review is all over the place. But I just wanted to convey to everyone what Gintama is for me, and what makes it so special.
Let me say my final words before I cry into the abyss while writing this.
Gintama, from the bottom of my heart, truly.
Thank you.

Who Made Me A Princess, a shoujo isekai in which the character dies and somehow gets transported in another world she knows. When she was transferred, she became Athanasia de Alger Obelia. The most miserable character in “Lovely Princess”. Her goal is to survive and avoid execution caused by her father, Claude.
The story is not the most original, but you don’t need to be original to make something good. The story in my opinion has the best pacing I could possibly crave for. Its good enough for character development and the continuing of the plot. I really can’t say much about this part to avoid
...
spoilers, but what i can certainly say that its a REALLY GOOD STORY.
I don’t really need to talk about art here, do i? Its so good to the point whenever I read another manga or webtoon, it looks like a peasant compared to this. It made my standards jump way too high, tho I really dont mind. Well kudos to spoon for having eye jumping art.
The characters, aside from the art is the best thing I really like about this whole webtoon. They develop in a very human way, at first I thought that they would immediately love each other ( Claude and Athy I mean) the moment they first saw each other, well mostly Claude. But it didn’t.
At first, it was all a scheme for Athy, a way to survive. Yet they found themselves loving each other more and more. Claude in particular is a very interesting character, he seems like your typical male character in a shoujo, he is, well kind of. When the author develops Claude more, you see him becoming more and more human. He becomes a person, a person who was hurt and refused to be manipulated and had enough with everyone.
That situation is very possible in reality, despite his rejection, he found himself being in love again. He found himself in love and he found himself being able to love.
Athy, best girl, fight me. Her character is the person I aim for lol. She’s a girl who is not naive ( I had enough with naive mc’s) and thank god. But moreover, what i found in her was really warm. Despite knowing that she may die in the hands of Claude one day, she calls him daddy and turns into a real “Daddy”, a dad she never experienced.
She is a kind, and anything but a lovable character. A character that somehow, we relate to in some way.
I really enjoyed the whole thing. Every single day, I wait for a new chapter, patiently and at the same time I crave for more. Wondering what will happen next, to fill in such void, I reread the entire story, but I never get enough of it. I always find myself enjoying it no matter how many times I read it.
If you ask me if you should read it. What’s stopping you?
In my opinion, legit one of the best stories I have read. I makes your emotion go around. It makes you feel and realize things you never knew. Its great, its nothing but something great. You don’t even need to ask if its worth it, from the start and hopefully till the very end, it would have the same worth and maybe even gain more worthy that would definitely captivate your heart.
But, a part of me somehow says that, it would definitely grow more, and be more worthy than it is now. In other words, it would turn out even greater till the very end.
And like I said, it doesn’t need to be original to be original. And, thats what makes this story, the story that i love, the story that I would certainly be glad to have read... The story that makes it..
“Who Made Me A Princess”
( all categories are 10 lol)
(From my pfp itself, it’s obvious I love WMMAP

“𝙶𝚒𝚟𝚎𝚗: 𝙲𝚊𝚗'𝚝 𝚜𝚊𝚢 𝙶𝚘𝚘𝚍𝚋𝚢𝚎, 𝙸'𝚖 𝚜𝚝𝚒𝚕𝚕 𝚍𝚛𝚒𝚏𝚝𝚒𝚗𝚐 𝚠𝚒𝚝𝚑 𝚢𝚘𝚞𝚛 𝚎𝚌𝚑𝚘𝚎𝚜.”
A story that was once about winter, and one day, was about a story of summer.
The story is about Mafuyu Sato and Uenoyama Ritsuka. Though, focused on them, you get a variety of characters, including Haruki and Akihiko. A story filled with flying colors, and flying personalities, a story filled with emotion, and because of that, you get pulled within the story.
Story: 10
The story is simple, too simple to be exact. The story is relatable, emotional, heart wrenching and heart warming. A story about 4 dudes trying to have a band, its simple yet thats what
...
so great about it, the fact that its simple is the reason why you get so much variety within in it. A type of story where the world isn’t big, but instead a small world that revolves around a group, and because of that, you get variety and emotions.
Its flying with different varieties, to the point it actually feels like they really are alive, even though there are only very few characters in this show, especially if you compare it to other Slice of Life anime with alot of characters.
There are flaws, truly but, its not exactly the type of flaw that ruined the whole show. In all honesty, I have nothing to dislike about the story, because its simple with enjoyment.
Art: 9
Though the art is still fantastic, they did their best with the CGI, they really did. Its not the type of CGI that is an eyesore, its the type of CGI that you will get used to and will not mind it. Its not bad, it’s actually good, especially if you want the playing of instruments to be accurate.
The staff, did a great job on replicating Natsuki Kizu’s brilliant, detailed and eyegasm artstyle. Background wise, it was pretty, breath taking. Character designs, were basically on point but less detailed ( ofc it was, its animation and a series to top it all off ) But it was still great.
The only problem I really did have was, the animation quality went down a bit for the few last episodes but I really don’t mind, it really didn’t bother me. In my opinion the art and animation was truly fantastic.
Sound: 10
Was there a need to talk about this part?!
Lets talk about the theme songs. The Opening was powerful and had the meaning, it goes along and beyond with the story. Meanwhile the ending was soft, yet very fitting. Featuring the voice actor of Mafuyu Sato, the one who sang the ED, certainly did a great job and it truly fits the anime, both ed and op wise.
The soundtrack, I loved it, I truly loved the soundtrack of this anime, expected from a music anime at that. Im waiting for the release of the soundtrack and to wish I can hear it as I want to.
And for most of all, the music itself. People at first, didn’t like Mafuyu’s first singing, I, didn’t dislike it. In fact, I loved it. I loved that the staff put that part so detailed to convince us, that its the type of person who had “potential”. Not a character who is a genius from the exact start, but a character who is talented but has not yet bloomed, a character with “potential”. The session was brilliant, catchy, and had the modern and retro vibe which I definitely LOVED.
But most and foremost, the final performance, had me shaking. It gave me shivers, it made me stop moving, it gave me chills. I was speechless, it was powerful, to the point I didn’t even know how to react. A performance, never expected, simply listening to it, gives me nothing but chills and it was truly powerful.
The one that should be given praise the most is of course the voice actors. The voices were unique and it fits the characters. Especially Mafuyu’s VA after the final performance. The VA’s truly did a great performance.
Character: 10
In this story, it relatively has a small cast of characters, yet its full of variety. I love this aspect of the story.
The characters are phenomenal and is truly alive. I would like to point out, that I, felt the characters. It touched me and it felt like it was real. They were reasonable, they were relatable, the characters were alive. They weren’t written in a way, that would make you think “expected of this character” or anything like that. The way they act, they say, the way they were written makes you really think “they were human.” And I truly loved that part.
The characters had emotions that were reasonable and understandable, and some may even relate to the characters. They weren’t hard to understand, because they were reasonable and felt human, and thats what makes this series so great.
The way the characters were written is truly brilliant, I would give every praise that it deserves. They were in fact r e a l l y h u m a n
Enjoyment: 10
I enjoyed this, to the core. As a manga reader, I had my expectations low, as I thought, it was not going to do Kizu Natsuki’s masterpiece justice. But it did, it made me laugh, emotional and speechless. In the end I was left empty, as I usually would feel after watching a good anime, the empty feeling wanting more. I truly did enjoy this anime.
Overall: 10
I am thankful, truly THANKFUL, that this was created and did the manga justice. I truly recommend this to anyone who is not only looking for “yaoi” or “boys love”. I would recommend this to anyone who likes very human characters, music and romance. Especially to people who is looking for something to relate to.
This series made me think... “Ah, life really is not bad as it may seem.”
I truly enjoyed this, and I hope for more
Thank you for reading this review ( my first in fact, sorry if its bad )
