Mixed Feelings
Not nearly as good as Season 1. Several of the arcs are simply boring, let alone not being funny. And among these, a few depart far from any notion of character development or story advancement. Some arcs leave seemingly important situations unresolved and not are concluded in subsequent arcs. I kept watching because I hoped the season would recover.

With that said, there are a few arcs that are funny and have the same feel as Season 1. In fact, one of the arcs in Season 2 may have been the best of both seasons for me.

There is very little character ...

Preliminary (11/12 eps)
The review rating for this series has been ~7 for the entire season. For this reason, I had been ignoring this anime. It wasn't until I recently saw that it has among the highest number of views of the season that I decided to try watching it. After pretty much bing-watching the first 11 episodes, my thought is that I don't know how Shinmai Ossan Boukensha can have a score of anything less than 8.

The primary reason for low scores seems to be a claimed lack of originality. No doubt it has similarity to other anime such as One Punch Man, ...

Preliminary (7/13 eps)
I don't understand why so many people dislike this season of Kami no Tou. Yes, the animation style is different, this season has different pacing, and the story does not pick up where Season 1 ended. All this was obvious 10 minutes into the first episode, and none of it bothers me at all.

First I'll say that while the animation style and quality are not as good as Season1, its not at all bad quality. Its just middle-of-road. I don't devalue a series if animation style or quality are not top-notch. I'd have missed out on a lot of good ...

Under Ninja (Anime) add
Amazingly underrated anime. The plot/story are refreshing compared to the reincarnation, harem, and RPG stuff that's been most common in the last few years. Kind of a mix of ninja and old school military stories that were popular years ago. And add a few dashes of various types of humor. It is of course a totally unrealistic story which is the intent, and in fact, it is patently absurd, but so what. Nothing except a few slice-of-life anime have any realism.

I can't understand why people are saying the animation quality is poor. The styling is similar to that used ...

Spoiler
I had high hopes for this series, and to be honest, I'm not sure how to rate it. The heroine spends a lot of time feeling sorry for herself. The reality is that this behavior is probably fairly realistic. However, the number of episodes where this behavior has to be endured by the viewer becomes a bit excessive from the perspective of an entertaining series. I suppose that I shouldn't fault the series for realistic behavior, but when the series has supernatural abilities as a primary context, it seems reasonable to toss normal behavior out the window.

Besides that significant fault, the ...

This anime is a parody mixed with a serious (as serious as a magical world anime can get) story. I've been watch Japanese anime for about 12 years, and I feel like I've seen most plots now, so I've been getting bored with anime lately, but the combo of parody and serious story was a refreshing change. There are quite a few reviews stating that the humor was not funny. I thought it was excellent humor, but I can see it not being universally funny. The serious part of the story does not progress along an obvious path except that most ...

Preliminary (7/12 eps)
I can understand the "Not Recommended" or "Mixed Feelings" assessment that many people give it because of the unending cliche, fan service and somewhat milk toast personality of Yakuin, but despite the negatives, its my second favorite anime of the season (behind Chainsaw Man) because its a fun story, and the colors and artwork are superb. It reminds me somewhat of Nisekoi which also ended up with a similar MAL rating of mid-7s.

Another nice thing I like about this anime is that each episode pretty much stands on its own - I am so tired of anime that drag out a particular topic across ...

Mixed Feelings
At first the story was very interesting, and along with the solid artwork, it was off to a great start. The middle episodes were good as well, but then at around perhaps episode 8 or 9, the story fell apart. Its easy to understand the overall premise of the story, but the details of the story are what fell apart. It began to feel contrived. Some aspects of the story also became confusing, especially in the last two episodes. I felt like I wanted to give up on the series perhaps by the end of episode 10, but because the ...

Preliminary (11/12 eps)
I could watch this series for the animation style alone. I suppose its not the most detailed animation, but I find the style to be very pleasing to watch, especially the character animation.

The story itself is very interesting for me. To me it feels like there is depth to the story in the sense that each character clearly has a past, and for some characters, we are given a glimpse of that past. I suppose that the overall premise of the story appears to be simple, but I'm fine with that because in my opinion, the premise of any story ...

Its not surprising that there are a wide range of ratings for this series. The series appears to attempt to be many things at once. It tries to be a romance series, it tries to be funny, it tries to deal with family issues, it tries to deal with the challenges of being a teenager. I feel inclined to give it some credit due to its attempt to provide some prospective on the mentality of a teenage runaway girl who feels like her parents don't care about her, although things are much more complicated in real life, and saviors rarely, if ever ...
