I love free but unfortunately this movie was so bad TT like the pacing of this was SOOOO BAD like the 723894 flashbacks to scenes I can barely remember the context of, some scenes just Being There but have no impact on the plot or development, the rivalry between Haru and Albert being so undeveloped that I really couldn't care less about Albert. I don't remember the reason why I started this anime but I watched it as it was airing, but temporarily stopped at episode 10 due to work, and just finished the last two episodes. Somehow I feel mildly disappointed?

Might actually read the manga after this cuz this was so cute.
This felt like a mix between a regular shoujo romance anime and a typical ecchi harem anime, an interesting mix but surprisingly good! I actually really enjoyed the romance between Marin and Gojo, the romance parts of the show are reminiscent of like those shoujo romance animes and I find it really cute and enjoyable. HOWEVER... the occasional ecchi/sexual scenes sometimes throw me off? I'm so sad because I really wanted WEP to be one of my fav animes but it all went downhill... I understand that the production team had production issues and I feel really bad for them because I know the working conditions of the anime industry are HORRIBLE, but I thought that during this 2-month wait before the finale they would have sufficient time to complete whatever is needed to be done. as a manga reader, this adaptation was pretty nice? but somehow they made this anime so much more emo and sentimental compared to the manga, I felt the manga had more comedic moments while still keeping the romantic aspects which was cute. the anime did so as well but if you're craving more comedic stuff from the characters then definitely read the manga. i remember watching the OP of this in the first episode and thinking why it looked like it would be a sad anime LMAO like i love iro kousui but the anime/manga is really not as depressing as it seems. but anyway

I read the manga prior to watching both the anime and the movie so I already knew what was gonna happen, many others who were manga readers expressed their disappointment with this film especially with the pacing and lack of depth(?) which I didn't really see a problem with. But re-reading the AkiHaru arc, they really did cut out quite a bit of content. Quite a lot of UenoMafu content, as well as the preparation of the concert, and also the depth behind Haruki's feelings and Ugetsu and Akihiko's relationship. The movie was fine, but definitely read the manga for more!

they really said: no context, no background, no world-building, no explanation AT ALL. Everything felt so rushed too like, knowing this was a pretty long series (181 chapters in the manga) they decided to condense everything pots-escape arc into 11 fucking episodes, that's simply ridiculous! The manga definitely had some problems in their last 2 arcs but at least it was actually developed and stuff????? but in this season 2 it's just... nothing. I'm honestly so disappointed especially since season 1 gave so much hope and potential for the series, just don't watch season 2 and read the manga I'm begging you.

idk if this is considered as a spoiler but if they just made it so that the whole theme of the movie was that you can't save everyone you care about because some people are just meant to die then that would've been fine by me. it's meant to be a tear-jerker and yea maybe some parts aroused my tear ducts but nothing in there was strong enough to make me cry, the story is somewhat contrived and melodramatic, I enjoyed the anime series so this was a nice addition I guess?
