A mysterious girl appears in front of a mid level gangster. He is charmed by her and ostensibly becomes her father figure.
The overall story of this anime is not as appealing as the vignettes and moments throughout the series. Not much is explained about these girls with telekinetic powers.
Hina is the title character and she has a very limited and dry personality. She is somewhat a blank slate but a slightly tragic past is only hinted at. A lot of the humor is a result of her misunderstanding social cues and screwing up common responsibilities, and usually Nita, the well-meaning gangster has to pay for

her mistakes.
Anzu is another powered girl who is initially a tsundere character but turns into the most empathetic angel of a girl after she is given lessons in life by a group of homeless people.
Hitomi is a model student with a great work ethic and organizational skills. She has a hard time saying no to anyone who asks for her help. This leads her down various paths and strange connections.
I found this series to be hilarious. I don't remember the last time I have laughed out loud at an anime series. The scenarios are often surreal but there is also a lot of introspection and truth in some of those moments. Other side characters are played up for comedy to good effect.
