Katekyo Hitman Reborn, also referred to as Reborn!, is your casual shonen anime but has a unique setting and twist. It takes determination to start this anime simply because of its original basis of being a comedy however it does get good.
As the anime progresses you get introduced to characters who will come to be of relevance throughout the story, you get to watch them get used to each other, have key character moments, and even develop as individuals. The story is built uniquely, and occasionally you get attached to some characters you never thought you would come to like.
Another reason to start KHR is
...
the never seen power system. Although it can get confusing at some point, the power system slowly develops as the story progresses and builds up to what becomes a concluding factor for arcs or a defining factor for certain characters. But, it's mostly fun to see what it throws at you every once in a while.
When it comes to the animation quality, KHR's animation is quite average for its time (at least in the first couple of episodes). However, you can watch the quality increase as you go on with the series and it does get better... All I'm saying is don't expect Demon Slayer animation from a 2006 anime.
In conclusion, if you're looking for a classic 2000s battle shonen then KHR is the anime for you! As I said earlier it takes determination to start but trust me you will be drawn in by the uniqueness of the characters, the power system, and the themes of the story.
