Story
It starts with an interesting concept of bugs giving humans powers at the cost of their dreams. There are two groups, one that use their bugs to kill any bugs they find, and another group trying to make a home for everyone that have bugs.

Art/Sound
I am not a critic of art/sound of anime.

Character
The most interesting character was Asami Minagawa who is a supporting character that isn't a part of the light novels, which explains why she disappears once her part was done. She had the most development of the series other then Shiika.

Enjoyment.
It has some good moments, but most of the time I ... get to an end of an episode, I just don't understand what is going on. Add characters in, they play their part, and then are gone. Need something to bring the 2 girls together? Suddenly there is romance, then its gone.

Overall
There seems to be too much missing from the story to make much sense. There needed to be a second season to explain a lot of things, but with just 12 episodes it is like watching half of the movie Princess Mononoke, need to see the whole story to be good.

An anime about combat enabled by singing power in a similar fashion as AKB0048 with some drama that worked fine in a short 13 episode series.

Story 8/10
Points taken off for minor plot holes and a few eye rollers. Every battle had a clear reason as why the Noise is attacking which much more enjoyable then a series forcing a battle every episode ending with the bad guy retreating and attacking the next episode. While the first season wraps up the story line, there are hints for what what to come in season 2.

Art:7/10
I am not a big critic of how an anime looks, but ... the use of CG for a mass of people or cars is a distraction. The use of manga art for Hibiki touch battles was a nice touch.

Character 8/10
Other then Hibiki's naive look at the world, I enjoyed how she developed a lot. Everyone else suffered in character development because series was limited to 13.

Enjoyment 9/10
I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoy this series for how low this series ranks. It dose some things differently then most magic girl series that made the series good.

Magical girl, singing, and drama. Don't skip this anime if you enjoy any of these.

The glaring flaw in this anime is that very little is explained. Climate change caused the world to flood... but how? Did the Fleet of the mist cause it? Fleet of the mist...what are they? were did they come from? what are they doing? nothing is explained. Some touching moments if it was not already known that the Fleet of the mist were basically invincible.

The CG graphics were fine some of the time, but looked clunky too often to say it was well done.

The characters are fun to watch, though sometimes over the top. A bit annoying that one second they are trying to ... destroy i-401, then the next they are friends.

I did end up watching this over a 3 day span, so I would admit I enjoyed watching it. But I found too many negatives to rate it very high
