Ok I can't help but feel like this is one of the more underrated anime. Although I agree that the anime lacked direction from its few 12 episodes for plot, I will give it top marks for enjoyment. I mean come on, the first 30 seconds consist of a guy in an abandoned building in the middle of the night while a high class lady is screaming "Noooooooooo!" into a well. Although I feel like the line that hooked me into watching more would be
"If I became a zombie, would you please take care of me?"
"I love zombies, so I'll love you even if you're
...
undead."
(my apologies to readers, this is not actually the order that they appeared. xD the second line was actually to babu the cat, but the first is still from the girl to furuya. Just thought it would be more interesting this way.)
The story itself is interesting as it takes the involvement of a zombie much more seriously and "realistic", if you may, than many anime. This is what gives it a feeling that wants you to watch more. Though it has these good points, it lacks plot developement. Very little happens in these 12 episodes regarding how they planned to deal with the problems of having a zombie girl. There were some episodes that didn't even have her show up. Although the darkness of the series keeps me watching it, the plot developement isn't much of a plus for me.
The art was....plain but beautiful. There was no amazing details, but that adds to the story since this is about two average people with the most unusual of circumstances.
Characters are meh. Though the heroine is a but recycled, the mc furuya is somewhat more unique. He is in a family of priests with a (supposedly) crazy grandfather and a zombie fetish. The heroine comes from a rich family that wants to enjoy life and lo and behold she gets it in the most unusual way possible..by becoming a zombie.
Enjoyment is what made it good for me. The way they presented the situation, and with fairly good music complementing it, makes the series much more enjoyable. I especially liked the ecchi horror combination between the two girls. The cousin was searching through movies and found a strand of hair in the room. Knowing this can't be her cousin, furuya, she thinks there's someone there(typical zombie scene) and *music plays* opens the closet except no one's there. phew right?...Except the camera pans behind her to show a zombie girl with a creepy face. Screams occur and when furuya rushes to the room, he finds Rea licking Wanko's boobs.......o.O....that is just one example of how it combined horror and ecchi, but I found that to be the best example.
Overall if you're looking for enjoyment in an anime Sankarea should keep you interested. If not, and you're looking for deep plot with amazing art and whatnot, there are many other series out there.

One of my favorite lines:
Kanzaki: I'll crack your friggin' skull open, baldy.
Himekawa: I'm not bald. Look at my lovely do, buddy.
Kanzaki: Yeah, I am. And a duck's ass ain't somethin' you wear in a hospital, idiot.
XDDDD
Story: 7
The story is about a delinquent that now takes care of a baby. I'm not going into detail about the circumstances. If you want to know, read the synopsis. It does have a plot to a certain extent, but otherwise it's entirely random. It mainly follows the random day to day life of a delinquent that kicks a**.
...
Art: 10
The scenes are hilarious and their faces just make you laugh. I mean I would laugh when you wake up floating in a pool of your kid's pee and the only face he makes is -_- .
Character: 9
I love the contrast between each character and how they deal with each situation. All the delinquents having this murderous look but Oga's just like "Which toy do you like better?" and the incomprehensible "dah".
Enjoyment:10
If you watch it you would understand. Nothing left to say.

To start off, this is one of those manga that's mainly concentrated on comedy. Trust me, if you read this manga it'll make you laugh. Of course if you're one of those looking for romances this isn't a bad choice either. Don't be fooled. Even though there probably won't be a lot of romantic situations or development till chapter 50 or so, each chapter is 5-7 pages long not even half the length of a regular chapter of 18-20 pages.
Story : 7
There really isn't a set plot. It's mainly girl likes guy that shows no response to her feelings while another guy
...
has feelings for the same pure and honest girl, and the chapters revolve around both of them trying to confess and win the other person's heart. To be honest, drama isn't one of this manga's main points since there is rarely any chapters where the setting is connected (except like when someone's confessing or something) and usually you'll see a problem confronted a few chapters later rather than right away. Since this is a gag manga, the story won't always involve the main characters. There will be chapters involving their classmates instead but you won't be disappointed.
Art:8
Original. That's the best way I think to put it. Each character and setting is drawn in such a way that each person feels unique and the setting and situation really connects. You gotta love the artist's ability to draw their funny expressions and some characters' lack of expression.
Character:7
The main characters are what you expect them to be like. All of the personalities are there. Shy, timid, outgoing, smart, delinquent, beauty, pervert, and the misunderstood. However, I love the involvement of the other classmates in the story and it isn't like the other series where there's only the love triangle and the best friend involved.
Enjoyment:10
If I say I didn't enjoy this series, shoot me. Sure there is a lot of repetitive scenes where the guy is misunderstood but I think the situation makes up for it. It'll get you to say "BaHAHA!" rather than "CHEEEESY!".
Overall:8
I would prefer to rank it as a 9 simply because I think 1-10 doesn't fully acknowledges how much I enjoy this series, but I think it gets confusing at times when the chapter after a serious scene is completely random and totally unrelated. BUT I HAVE NO REGRETS AFTER READING SCHOOL RUMBLE.

First impression: Amazing and hilarious
Story: Romance isn't an issue, plenty of development in the events in the plot. Plenty of scenes where you'll be anxious to see what happens next while at the same time can't help but reread the hilarious scenes.
Art: To be totally honest, I'm not a good judge for art but I must say the scenes don't have too much or too little detail and fits the plot great. One thing I have to admit is the facial expressions he gives them are hilarious.
Characters: Each and every one is unique and though you catch cliques here and there, you can't help but
...
laugh at their predicaments.
Enjoyment: Like I said before, still rereading scenes. The impact of their jokes never gets old for me (great part of this was thanks to the art).
Overall: Definitely worth reading and I'm sure you'll find it enjoyable for it's comedy and romance.
